How are you today?

It's been a good day, so far, I'm happy to say. :)

We are marking the holiday tomorrow as husband is working today. However, I did receive a -I mentioned this already, sorry -- gift from my son in Florida (sticker-by-numbers books) and husband has bought me the jasmine body mist I wanted. Tomorrow there will be chocolate and flowers (probably 🤷‍♀️) and we'll (husband, middle son and I) play cards and have a dinner (spaghetti because I freaking love pasta.)

Hoping everyone is having a really nice Sunday / Mother's Day. ❤️

I'm expecting an expensive day. There's a slight leak in the bathroom; already called the plumber. Looks like they can send someone today, but waiting for a call back to make an appointment time. At least I found the problem early enough before it did any damage, so there is that to be thankful for.

Also, thankful we got no hail last night. Some people not so far away had 4" hail and have far more serious issues to deal with than I do - so, counting my blessings, regardless of what else I could be in for as the day moves along.

Best wishes to all for a good day and a good week.

My day was full yesterday. I think that is why I popped awake so early, too many thoughts
roaming around in my sleep. We are supposed to go look for plants/flowers for my planters
on the fence. Not sure if I am going to like what I see or not for the prices.
Like others I am staring out those weeds again so if we don't go looking for the plants those
weeds may be taking the brunt of my restlessness. :ROFLMAO:

Wakened from a very deep sleep at 1 a.m. by an Amber Alert. Made me feel restless the remainder of the night thinking about missing children. Finally found a news link that it had been cancelled an hour later and was started in a place about two days drive from me. As much as you feel bad for the family involved, the police need to set the boundaries a little tighter. I presume it ended well.

Done! At least for the part of the garden that I can see from the teeny tiny patio. The rest can wait a couple of days.

Tell you what...if you're feeling ambitious, dig up the weeds then sprinkle with Preen and water it. I cover it with mulch then water again. So far, Preen has done a good job. It won't kill anything that already has roots, which is why you gotta dig them up.

We couldn't go to lunch yesterday because DGD had to work until 2, DSIL had to go to work at 4, it got complicated, so we're going today. I hate these darned lunch "dates," and there's another one coming up at the end of the month for DD's birthday, then June for Father's Day, then July for DGS's birthday. I think I have August, September and October off. I really don't enjoy going out to eat anymore. Ugh. When my birthday rolls around, I insist on eating in instead of out.

I'm getting anti-social in my eld.

Welp. I'm an ungrateful wretch. There are two kinds of food I really can't stand. One is Cajun, the other is Indian. So where are we going for Mother's Day lunch? To a Cajun restaurant. I looked at their menu on line. There is nothing that isn't Cajun spiced. Nothing. Not one thing. Zip. I want to beg off, but I also want to see DGS. Now what?

I just read that today is National Eat What You Want Day. I don't want Cajun.

@Georgiagranny maybe this is a dumb question but since it’s a lunch in honor of you as a mother, why don’t you have to say so about where you go?
