How are you today?

@IrishEyes It really is all relative. 72 sounds delightful, but your 84 yesterday would have been considered blessedly cool.
that was at about 6:30 each morning. We ended up at 96 yesterday so yes 84 was better. Today they say 88 for the high. Basically I am loving the fact that the heat wave has past. Many elderly in my 55+ community have had the EMT's out so much more than I have seen before. When you move to one of these type communities you get a whole different level of concern when emergency vehicles are seen nearly daily.

@Trish Wait for me! I'll just throw on some clothes that are presentable in polite society and stroll along with you🚶‍♀️

It's going to be a nice day here, too. Not quite as hot as it has been the past couple of days.

I didn't win the lottery so that means I can't hire somebody to clean the stove and will have to do it myself. Yeah. Gonna get right on it after a visit to the credit union to "buy" some cash.
You took too long @Georgiagranny, I don't hang around you know :)

It's nice and cool now but cloudy. I happened to meet a friend while I was out and we stopped for a quick coffee and catch up and, guess what??? There's a new supermarket opened just a bus ride away. I will be investigating that this weekend ;)

It's quite warm here today, supposed to get to 92, which for ND is quite hot, but I don't want to complain because in a few months we'll be at our usual 20 below 0 (F). Then I'll be complaining. ;)

I have a lot of work and thus will be indoors much of the day anyway.

There's still been no word from my younger daughter, but I'm hopeful that when I text her a happy birthday on the 27th (she turns 27!), and to confirm that her gift arrived OK, she will reply. 🙏

Cooler today at 64 so far, Cloudy.
Think I'll make a salad with sliced turkey breast and toast on the side. A deconstructed turkey sandwich?

Happy day, all.

I'm so excited. There's an article I'm gonna read this afternoon: "What to do once your portfolio reaches $1 Million." :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

Keep in mind that I don't actually have a million bucks, but I wanna be prepared so that when I do, I'll know how to proceed.

Yes, I did clean the stove this morning, just as I said I would. And we went to visit Aldi's Aisle of Shame. I didn't part with any money except for more gelato. One must have a stash, donchanno.

That's my pick for my secret stash too!

Toasty here for the next few days. Hot weather in CA doesn't bode well for those living east of us (meaning most of the country).

So Cal has had a relatively mild summer with only a couple of days at/near 100°, and those were two months ago.

I have some business paperwork to manage today. While we partied with relatives 3000 miles away, our business continued apace. Time to catch up with it.

Will see what you're all up to when I award myself a (much deserved) break!

So on Monday I went over to my storage unit to pick up some things and to leave some, and someone had left a package nearby. I of course am the Curious type so with my trusty box cutter I cut it open.

Well much to my surprise there was an egg crate cushion rolled up in there. Doing an Amazon search I found the value was $30. I have since laid it out on my Camp cot and it has greatly improved my sleeping arrangement.

This is the second time I have found something, someone had left a useful item. Previous to this somebody left two padded folding chairs which I took and I found out later they're about $35 each.

So now I am enjoying my sleep a little better and I'm going to probably hand out the towels I was using as cushions and also other blankets and redirect them for winter.

I also finally got my sliding side door panel off so now I can insulate it and get it ready for this coming winter.

Ugh. I feel like I could crawl right out of my skin. Nervous as a frog on the freeway with a busted hopper. Unsettled.

I think it's because of the interview Monday. She said she'd let me know "by the end of the week." Sure. Not a positive feeling at all, even though it was a good interview. I'm expecting to be told no once again and just wish it was over with so that I could digest it and come to terms with being too old to be employable.

It's still two days until the end of the week.

I'm keeping a good thought for you, GG.

You're not too old to be employed. It's ageism. Don't they realize that it's the oldsters who actually show up for work, and on time?!

Fingers crossed for you, Granny.🤞

I’m waiting for the sun to come out …..it’s 10.30 am ..it’s supposed to be 19c today that’s 66f …our plans were to do a massive prune of front garden spreading conifers ..they grow about 90cm ~ 3 foot …. some are more like 4 foot and we don’t want them to get out of control ….its still a freezing 🥶 10 c outdoors …so no way are we going to tackle stuff in freezing wind with no protection …then take it to the recycling green waste
so it can wait till another day …so there ….

In Australia Bunnings which is a huge hardware store ..encourage seniors to apply for Jobs ..simply because they are more reliable ..and they have mostly seniors working in the garden section @Georgiagranny

@Georgiagranny - I always get a chuckle out of your sayings e.g. nervous as a frog on the freeway with a busted hopper. Don't ever think you are too old to be employable - you would brighten up anyone's day. Good luck and fingers crossed for you.

Today was a so-so day - weather is cooler and motivation is higher. Hope this continues.

High here today was 88 but Lake Humidity ads several degrees of discomfort on that.
The AC’s working well tonight and comfortable again. Good Night all, sleep well!

I usually get started before the sun come up if I have hard work to do here.
Things usually start to get sweltering & tough around 11 am too. 2 ish done in this area for me.
