How are you today?

Good morning. I slept the sleep of the innocent last night...well, except for the two trips to the bathroom.

Laundry day today. And the flowers need watering. Then I have to think of something to optimize or maximize or something.

How about y'all? Anybody got anything exciting on their agenda? Anything that you'd include me in?
What about weeding in the garden …:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO: …. (my garden) 🪏 I’ve got a few of my special Begonias that need a bit of potting mix added ..some need repotting , I’d only be about a 24 hour flight ✈️ away in Southern Australia:ROFLMAO:depending how windy it is when you get near Australia :ROFLMAO:

They used to have an add on TV encouraging tourists to visit ….
Darwin which is right up near the top of Aussie land ….it was….

I cheated and copied this …
The saying associated with Darwin is "You'll never never know if you never never go".

However the same applies to anywhere in Australia… 🇦🇺 We’ve been to each and every state and Territory in Australia ( Canbera ACT , Australian capitol territory ) and Darwin are both Territories ….

Queensland , New South Wales , South Australia & Victoria are all states including Tasmania

I went to the DMV to renew my driver's license today. It's my first renewal since I turned 70, so I needed to renew in person to take a vision test. No biggie.

New online feature: I was able to "secure a place in line" online rather than in person. When my turn was about 20 minutes away I drove to the DMV that's 10 minutes away, and waited there for the last few minutes until they called my number. Not a bad system.

DH & I have been swimming every morning for 30 minutes. The pool is a delightful 90° - we keep a solar cover on it to keep the heat in and to prevent evaporation.

This week has mostly been about been catching up with sleep (jet lag), work, laundry, fresh produce replenishment, and other life needs that pile up when I'm away from home for a week or longer.

I'm feeling all stabby and stuff this morning. Took my coffee out to the patio, sat down, tuned in my favorite HD classical music station and...there are ornamental onions directly ahead in my line of vision up on a slope. That is, there were. They started blooming this week. A critter came along last night and ate every darned last one of them. They treat my flower garden like a salad bar:mad:.

Not a good way to start the day.

Youngest granddaughter has just received her GCSE results and got very high marks (equivalent of A* in the old marking system) in Maths, English Lit, physics and biology and A in the rest of her subjects. She will now be joining her older sister at 6th form college in September to do her A Levels.

I can now unwind and chill.
You must be very proud of her @Pam! She's so smart. :)

What good are our weather forecasters these days?

Every day this week, TV weather forecasters have said the same thing: "Rain and storm chances 1-4 PM," which is the exact time period I wanted to go to my favorite vitamin / supplement store, 35 miles away. I can drive in rain, but would rather not, since it's an isolated stretch of road to travel over. Yesterday, about 3 PM, there were heavy clouds, but no rain at that time, so I decided to go anyway, and had no rain going or coming.

I got back home and put the car up around 5:30 PM, and about 10 minutes later, a huge downpour began and lasted about one hour. :)

Thanks weather experts, for being WRONG (again).
