How are you today?

Some of my pain has lessened. It had been unbearable for about a week or so.

I had a phone conversation with my brother today. It was great talking to him. He was telling me how everyone in his family is doing.

Also had a visit from my case manager who is so helpful and kind. She even picked up my prescriptions today. She is helping me with several things. One is to apply for Senior housing. We're going to go to an apartment place after my lower body heals up. I sure am grateful for her.

Things are getting better and better ☀️

Wudju believe that I didn't get up until 9? And that was because DD came over and woke me up. She said she was scared that she'd find me cold and stiff . It was a wakeful night, and it's not even full-moon time.

It's gonna be a warm-ish day today with a high temp of 50F. Not too cold tonight, but we're being threatened with sNOw. Maybe yes, maybe no or maybe just another boy-who-called-wolf episode.

Hoping the snow skips you altogether! Go away, snow!

Between 9 this morning and now, our forecast has gone from "Advisory" to "Watch" to "Warning." Not looking good. It's supposed to be powdery sNOw and not the heavy, wet sNOw that we usually get, but the temps are gonna plummet. Plummet, I tell you! Right now it's 50F; by morning? 15F.

I am sooo over winter. Over it.

I am nostalgic, again.
Memories of my house full of laughter, singing and teasing.
The giggles of grandchildren trying to fool me about something.
Me crying and sobbing when I realized I was about to be an empty nester when
my youngest left in his tuxedo for his prom. Knowing in 2.5 months he'd
be whisked away across the world after basic training.

Cheering and clapping when each grandchild mastered coloring inside the lines.
Hugging my sons during their 1st teenage heart break.
Shoveling peanuts in my mouth as I taught my sons to drive a stick shift on Missouri
hilly roads so I wouldn't scream in fright and make them nervous.

Even the laying in bed waiting to hear those cars pulling in the drive after a night out
with the friends or girlfriend.
It's all running through my mind and I hope so much these memories come back to them also
while they are making theirs. So many memories, good and bad, I just hope they are not forgotten.

Thank you, I can get on with my day now, going to maybe watch the birds and squirrels for a bit
and just be thankful I had it all and can still remember it.

Looking forward to a nice day with 4 year old GS. Lovely weather with an expected high of 83°, so we'll try to do a walk around the block.

How am I? I'm happy. My road has been remarkably smooth over the past ten years.

Sure, there have been some bumps and losses, but in most ways it's been far less stressful than any other period of my life, childhood included.

I'm happy for you, Star. 🤗

Memories live on in our hearts! 💕

All's well here. :)

The weather has been relatively nice lately so, we have been out and about. It's nice to have the windows open again.

Talking about open windows, does anyone live in a bungalow or a ground floor flat? I ask because one of my friends has arthritis and is currently looking for a house all on one level. I have never been a fan of bungalows but, some of the ones she has shown us are really nice. My concern would be that all the windows are obviously on the ground floor and, as someone who likes to have the windows open, I think I would be concerned that it would be too easy for intruders. Just wondering what people think (y)

Has anyone heard from @Pepper?

Looks like @Pepper's last post was Tuesday night. She'd said just before that - that she wasn't healing well from surgery.

I keep hoping @Pepper will stop in, even if just to say hi.

It’s been an unusual winter - barely any snow and most days above freezing. It was unusual at the end of Dec. and now we’re heading into February.

She texted me yesterday that her leg is badly infected and gaping open.
Omigosh! That doesn't sound good at all. I will continue sending good mojo and thinking positive thoughts for her.

Today is Groundhog Day. It's supposed to be a sunny day here so the little rodent is going to see his shadow. Six more weeks of what we're having? No thanks.

The wind Saturday night blew so hard that it broke a part of my storm door. It's a part that I think can be replaced.

ETA: Yippee! I just checked, and the part (the pneumatic closer thingie) is available. I just have to check to make sure I get the right one. And sweet talk DD into going out in the cold 🥶 to take me to Home Depot to get it.
