How are you today?

unfortunately all they care about is us showing up for work. i don't really think they give a rats behind about us as human beings.
I seem to remember you worked food service in a hospital, but it appears you changed jobs, if not employers. Is that correct? If so, what are you doing now.

Now! The time is now! That's what retireyment should be - we get to be teenagers again albeit maybe not so cute!

Mostly, our lives are no longer dictated by work, alarm clocks, responsibilities and expectations. We can sleep late every day, we can eat junk if we want, we can stay up all night watching Netflix or whatever and, if we make a mistake we can put it down to our age. These days, I avoid being a grown-up as much as possible :)
I like the way you think! :)

same employer just different dept. i spent 5 yrs in food service and i've been in housekeeping for the past 4 yrs now. i like it, i just wish they wouldn't treat us like crap. sometimes they're nice to us and good to us but there's so many times when they say the crappiest things to us that lets me know they are just heartless.

Dragging my aching body from one end of the house to the other. Ten hours spent at the state fair yesterday, mostly walking or standing, and a steady diet of delicious but unhealthy food, in the company of little'uns has left me ...well...really, really tired.

I'm about to take a nap so I can survive the Superbowl from my lounger -GO SEAHAWKS!!@

I don't care who wins or even whether they play or not. Don't understand football and never did. Never mind I was a cheerleader. LOL Baseball. Basketball. Sure.

Anyway the sliders are in the fridge and ready for the oven when it's time. The pudding cake is done. Coleslaw made and refrigerated. I've done my part.

I did get the litter vacuumed up, the dishes washed and the trash taken out.

Those socks? Sigh. They are all my favorites, but I only have two feet and there are only seven days in a week. What to do?

dinner sounds good!!

Have apps like Disney/Hulu/CBS.com/YouTube/Sirius ETC. on my phone.
Have been watching old soaps on YouTube like All My Children from 70s & 80s

Thank goodness for such things. Son will be here soon for visit.

Wish I could leave bed and go for wheelchair ride.
So great to read your posts again @Pepper. Good to hear that you are seeing your son and grandson.

The vacuums you describe sound like the surgical drain I had to have after an operation. It was a few years back now but, it was a pain as I had to carry it everywhere. I can't tell you how many times I forgot, stood up and the bottle went flying! It was worth it though because it reduces the chances of infection and the scar healed really well.

Hope you heal quickly. Wait until you are well enough to be in that wheelchair and zooming around! You will be the boss of that ward! In the meantime, try to keep your chin up and look forward to better times. ❤️

Hope you get better soon. We are all rooting for you to return home and to us. Hang in there friend! *Lotsa hugs*

Woke up to blue skies today - it makes such a difference in my outlook. It’s 7C/45F and the sun is still shining. Will go for another walk prior to the game. I just check in every now and then. We don’t get the American commercials. It doesn’t make any difference but I’m for the SeaHawks.

Cold day today and going down to 1 F tonight. I'll be keeping warm. The neighbors took a break in bothering me. I hope this continues but they are so kooky they will probably start again.

I found a place not far from here. I have to go fill out an application. I want out of here yesterday!! There's a waiting list I know but not as long as some.

As soon as my backside heals up I am going to apply. The manager sounded nice on the phone.

Good sunny morning! It's warmish (43F) and going to be a nice day. I haven't given much thought to what's happening today so haven't screwed anything up. Yet ;)

One thing for sure: I'm not cooking.

Solved the socks problem. I'm gonna rotate them. Put seven pair in the drawer, a pair for each day. On laundry day, I'll put seven different ones in the drawer, and when I fold clothes, put last week's away in a sack. Only when I've cycled through all the socks, will I start over with the first ones. I truly hope nobody decides to give me more socks.

ETA: Just for :poop::poop: and giggles, I counted the socks. Sixty pairs of socks. Who the heck needs 60 pairs of socks?

I'm fine. I mean, I'm sick and my voice is gone, but in the grand scheme, I'm fine.

I watched two movies yesterday: Witness for the Prosecution, 1957. It was actually pretty boring until the end when I realized I'd seen it before in a newer version. Weird because I usually really enjoy old classics. The Bad Seed, 1956 is one of my faves.

And, "Searching, 2018." A movie about a man trying to find his missing daughter using social media. It was pretty good; kept me interested.

Boyfriend and I have plans to watch a movie today but I can't remember the name of it now. S'alright, he'll know.
I'll probably watch a couple movies / shows today and play a lot of Animal Crossing.

I really want to do my exercises. :/

It won't kill you to rest. You're sick. You need to be kind to yourself until you're better. 😋

In a few days you’ll be begging to go dog walking, no matter what the weather is. Being sick does make you appreciate the little things you can’t do. Have a quick bounce back.

You guys are great. 🤗

I caved and did my exercises. And, you know, it's helped me feel better mentally which will translate to my physical well being, to some extent. It's not that big a deal, just 20 minutes toning, 10 minutes stretching and 15 minutes, slow, on the treadmill.

Now I'll rest in bed. 😇

Good morning! It's gonna be a stellar day with sunshine and temps in the 70s. Yay!

Yesterday I played in the dirt. Yup. Pretended it was spring and raked up leaves and some debris from wind storms and cut back foliage on some perennials. I'm gonna do more of that today.

And not gonna cook again today.

Good Luck Ruthanne!

@Pepper Those wound vacuum systems not only suck out infected tissue, they also encourage better blood flow, definitely a Good Thing.

So glad to hear from you!
