How are you today?

Yes, one son about 8 miles from me, one 5 hrs away and the other I wrote about is 30-32 hrs away.
If he were to buy in southern Mo or upper Ark, it would have put him 3 hrs away as apposed to 30 hrs.
Close enough to visit but not be feel pressured.
When Carole King came out with her Tapestry album in 1971, I was across the country from my immediate family. One of the lines from her hit "So Far Away" struck me then and has stayed with me ever since.

"Doesn't help to know that you're just time away.," Unlike her, it seriously did and continues to help me to frame it that way. I can get on a plane anytime and see those people... From my house to theirs, they're only a day away from me. Just time away.

Your son will just be time away. And less time than he is now, probably.

(When visiting, DH & I rent a car and book accommodations. Much as we love them, we prefer to have our own space and want to give them theirs.)

Love that song...for diff reasons. ...

I can't say good morning because it's already past noon. Wut wo. I was up and at 'em, I promise!

DD and I made a pass by Aldi but there wasn't much we needed. Mostly it was so DD could check out the AOS. I sort of had to get more gelato. Can't take a chance on running out.

When we got home, I worked on the teeny, tiny patio. There's a storage chest where I keep chair cushions and gardening gloves and Stuff. There's about a foot of space behind it between the chest and the house that fills up with leaves that I can't get to. So. I moved the chest and the rakes and shovels and hoe and cleaned out all the leaves. What a chore! After it was all done, I put everything back...took about two hours.

DD's yard guy blows off her patio and mine, but he blows the blankety-blank leaves so that they land behind the chest. I bet I've asked him a thousand times to blow out the leaves behind the chest, but he never does:mad:. My own blower died last fall😥. I guess it's time to bite the bullet and buy another one💸💸.

@StarSong I got my exercise this morning! Does that make up for the days I do nothing but sit on my dead center?

Talked with DS this morning. He and his husband have been toying with the idea of moving back to the UP...simply because it's too darned expensive to live here. Now they're getting serious about it and will probably drain their retirement accounts to do it. They can live up there on about half their current income, but the weather? Um. Brutal.

They'll probably have to buy a car, too. They have e-bikes now that suit them just fine and there's a dandy public transit system, but the only place up there that has reasonable public transpo is Marquette, which isn't a place they want to live.

Lunchtime. Then a nap.

Taking DH to urgent care, his back is really bad. He's had 5 back surgeries, so I hope it's not something they want to operate on again.

Update: Good news, none of the hardware in his back seems to have come loose. MRI is next, for a more detailed view. He seems relieved, at least - and now to force him to take things easy!!! He's terrible at that. :)

Good morning, Invisipeeps! It's gonna be a rainy day, all day.

Glad I got all the leaves and mess in back yard cleaned out yesterday, but boy oh boy, that did a number on my aching neck. Thank heaven for Biofreeze.

Today is laundry day. And maybe a bit of tidying up. Other than that, nothing going on, which is why I'm wearing pajama pants and a t-shirt today.

@MarciKS Dust Bunny Whisperer :ROFLMAO:.

I wish @Paulina would check in.

I have sung that song a lot!

@IrishEyes Me, too! I loved that album, all of it, and played it over and over.

Anybody have an idea about why Maggiecat thought I should get up at 5:40 this morning? Darned cat!

It looks like March is confused about how it's supposed to launch. It's going to come in like a lamb...hope that doesn't mean it's going to go out like a lion. I'm a bit nervous because I remember sNOw as late as April. Surely Mother Nature won't do that to us again.

Too wet after yesterday's/last night's rain to play in the dirt. Darn it. So there's no plan for today except to wait for the sun to come out.

What's everybody else doing today?

Working. Once I get off tonight I will put my grocery order in for tomorrow and play some video games and hit the sack. It's my weekend off and I hafta do some more decluttering of the kitchen.
