How are you today?

Woke up this morning to rain, it's quite warm even though the windows have been open all night. Hopefully March is going to be nicer weatherwise.

Today it is our regular weekend, family, meet-up. Not all the family but, those that can. My job today is to bring cake :)

Wishing you all a good weekend (y)

Long day at work yesterday, but rested well and I feel like I’m getting stuff done today.

Talk to Ed just now he’s settling into his assisted living facility fairly well… Of course it’s a big change for him but necessary.

Have several errands to run, so I’m headed out to do those. I should go on the chest.com website and play some chess to practice for chess club every other week. ::sigh:: I’m just not sure I’m that into it; I think I’m going to have to either fish or cut bait

It's to be 68F today. Tomorrow will be cold and we may get a little ice storm. Nothing serious. Trace to .05". Will be cold a couple days then back to temps in the 50s.

I got groceries and now I'm getting ready to make lunch and watch some tv. Not feeling up to the kitchen work so IDK how much I'll get done in there. I'm hurting today and still super tired.

@Trish You can stop off here with cake...

It's foggy here but supposed to burn off by about 11. There are things to do in the garden. Lots of things. I'm gonna go do some of them.

DD and I might make a trip to the garden center to get mulch.
As it happens @Georgiagranny I was going to but, too many cake lovers turned up today and, there was not a crumb left.

Oh! actually, I did find a half eaten doughnut in my bag - I think my gummy aunt had a chew on it, you can see the teeth marks from her dodgy nashers  I was going to post it to you but then I thought I might as well keep it for breakfast tomorrow - sorry ;) We could go halvsies, well, quarters really. You can have the bit with the red lipstick if you like :D

Good March 1st morning! The best part of my day yesterday was turning the page on my wall calendar before going to bed. So long to Feb-ru-dreary! It's a good thing it's a short month because I don't think I could survive another two or three days of it.

It's supposed to be warm and sunny all week. I can handle it.

Yesterday was a work-in-the-garden day. Errr...that is, work in the garden for a couple of hours. I got tired and gave it up in favor of just admiring the camellias that are still blooming and the daffodils. And deciding where to move stuff and plant stuff.

We went to the garden center to get mulch, and it was very tempting to buy flowers. I'm no novice, though, and know better than to plant too early, having learned the hard way. I so wanted to buy a few gorgeous senetti plants in full bloom, but they're annuals and expensive so they didn't come home with me.

Today is another day to attack weeds. Those darned things don't need to be perennials!

Gotta throw on my glad rags and get out there. Carpe diem!

Wiggle it and see if it needs tightening?

Happy March 1st, SF peeps! Couldn't fall back asleep after 3:30am so there will probably be a nap in my near future.
Beautiful weather today, high of 84°. Tomorrow and for the rest of the week it'll be bouncing around in the 70s. This is one of those perfect temperature spells when the house needs no help from heat or AC.

No GKs this weekend - I had a health crisis that put me in the hospital for 24 hours Thurs-Fri so I'm laying low for the moment as my body swings back to normal. Cliffs Notes version: I donated blood and my normally low BP cratered to 60/35, then swung extremely high because of all the sodium in the IVs.

Longer story: DH took me to the ER because I passed out a few times (scared the crap out of him), but the triage clerk didn't believe my situation was all that serious and told me to wait in the chairs. I passed out within 10 minutes in the waiting room, falling head first out of the chair onto the tile covered concrete floor.

DH said the security guard called a full code and within 15 seconds of my hitting the turf, a team rushed into the waiting room from the ER treatment area. As I began regaining consciousness, this team was getting me on a gurney. Wheeled me in a room. In nothing flat, one person had an IV running, another was drawing blood from my other arm, a third was cutting off my shirt, and I'm fuzzy on what everyone else was doing but DH said there were at least 10 medical people buzzing around me.

I watched this through the haze of lightheadedness and thought to myself, Right... it's just like on TV. Having watched a lot of medical shows over the years, none of what they were doing distressed or frightened me. It just felt slightly surreal to be part of the show, in a manner of speaking.

Lots of drama and tests over the next 48 hours, including a CT scan of my head because it apparently made a loud crack when I hit the tile over concrete floor, but I'm finally mostly back to normal.

I want to give a special shoutout to dear @Pepper, who I texted with some. She came through with much needed laughs and levity along with her concern.

p.s. Note to self: No more blood donations.

OMG! @StarSong! Did they give a diagnosis? WTH?

DD needed potting soil and we both needed new spray nozzles for our hoses so we went to the garden center. Um. I've been wanting gladiolus bulbs. Yes. I did buy a pack of 30. That's a damn lot of bulbs to plant. There are still about 10 more to get in the garden. Maybe tomorrow. Reminds me of what we said in German: Morgen morgen nur nicht heute sagen alle faulen leute (tomorrow, tomorrow, just not today so say all lazy people.) Why do I remember stuff that's useless? LOL

Just came in from about three hours in the garden. I want to do more but am just too worn out. Gardening is hard work!

Now I'm gonna go out to sit and admire my handiwork.

BTW, it's almost 80 here.

*someone* needs to go back to nursing/ medical school! 🙄

Lovely day here in S GA. Church was lovely, enjoyed singing with the choir. Now sitting out under what shade I can find in the yard, catching up with y’all and enjoying the breeze and bird song.

I’ve had to put out the blood meal in the garden already; the deer have just about denuded my Indian Hawthornes. I’ve also got the cages over the day lilies, so those will stay unmolested.

@StarSong glad you're ok but goodness sake!! Get some rest.

It's cold here today. It's currently 34F and I thought someone was messing with my trash trolly. I look out and we're having a thunderstorm? Yeah...a thunderstorm. Weather be weird here. I didn't get the kitchen cleaned yesterday but last night I got all the boxes from shipping items broke down and this morning got them into the trolly before the storm hit.

Considering I didn't feel like doing anything, I will count that one thing as a success. One thing is better than no things. Not much else going on except the usual video games.
