How are you today?

I met a fellow resident. Her name is Cozett. Her Mother read Les Mis as a child and decided that she would name her future daughter Cozett. This resident is 97 years old and still has all her marbles. Nice conversation. A delight

Then my son came and he took me for a walk around this swanky Manhattan neighborhood. He bought me bananas and Dunkin coffee and donut. We had a wonderful talk about me and how I am doing and the future. Meeting Cozett showed me that I might have one.

It's gonna be ok Pepper. Love ya gal!!

@Pepper Yay! You DO have a future!

I just realized that I haven't eaten today. Tell ya what: I'm so hungry that I could chew a baby's butt through the slats of a park bench. I don't wanna eat anything now because DD said she's gonna get KFC for supper tonight, and I don't wanna miss out.
I do the same thing at times, not eat so I will be hungry. Problem is with me if I don't nibble something, I drink too much tea instead
and get less than half my portion of the meal down and I am full. I do that too often! Yep, I get so mad at myself for that.
Hope you enjoy your dinner, especially if you don't have to eat through slats in a park bench. ;)

Kitty wanted breakfast at 5am. I pretended to be asleep and didn't get up until 6. I don't think she was fooled because she was sitting in the bedroom doorway waiting...

More weeding today. By the time the whole garden is done, it'll be time to start over. >le sigh<

I enjoyed every bite of last night's KFC. Couldn't finish it all so it'll get eaten for lunch today.

Happy March 1st, SF peeps! Couldn't fall back asleep after 3:30am so there will probably be a nap in my near future.
Beautiful weather today, high of 84°. Tomorrow and for the rest of the week it'll be bouncing around in the 70s. This is one of those perfect temperature spells when the house needs no help from heat or AC.

No GKs this weekend - I had a health crisis that put me in the hospital for 24 hours Thurs-Fri so I'm laying low for the moment as my body swings back to normal. Cliffs Notes version: I donated blood and my normally low BP cratered to 60/35, then swung extremely high because of all the sodium in the IVs.

Longer story: DH took me to the ER because I passed out a few times (scared the crap out of him), but the triage clerk didn't believe my situation was all that serious and told me to wait in the chairs. I passed out within 10 minutes in the waiting room, falling head first out of the chair onto the tile covered concrete floor.

DH said the security guard called a full code and within 15 seconds of my hitting the turf, a team rushed into the waiting room from the ER treatment area. As I began regaining consciousness, this team was getting me on a gurney. Wheeled me in a room. In nothing flat, one person had an IV running, another was drawing blood from my other arm, a third was cutting off my shirt, and I'm fuzzy on what everyone else was doing but DH said there were at least 10 medical people buzzing around me.

I watched this through the haze of lightheadedness and thought to myself, Right... it's just like on TV. Having watched a lot of medical shows over the years, none of what they were doing distressed or frightened me. It just felt slightly surreal to be part of the show, in a manner of speaking.

Lots of drama and tests over the next 48 hours, including a CT scan of my head because it apparently made a loud crack when I hit the tile over concrete floor, but I'm finally mostly back to normal.

I want to give a special shoutout to dear @Pepper, who I texted with some. She came through with much needed laughs and levity along with her concern.

p.s. Note to self: No more blood donations.
Oh, Starsong! I'm glad you're ok!

I stopped donating a few years ago, too. My body changes just didn't deal with it as well as it did when I was younger......

I'm glad you're OK, now!

Yep. This is how it happens. I worked in the Trauma ICU for years and know exactly what you mean. There were times when a patient would be brought in, bypassing the ER altogether, by EMS. One of the paramedics would be standing on the side of the gurney doing chest compressions while several others were pushing it through the doors into the unit. It looks like bedlam but it is definitely a very coordinated team effort and everybody knows just what to do. I can, even now, feel my heart rate increasing just remembering those days. Oh, the stories I could tell.

I am so glad you are recovering. Take care of yourself, please.

For the next few days I’ll be avoiding my husband. He woke up with a cold. Weird thing is that he hasn’t been exposed to anyone for at least three days. We walk in the afternoon and he will rarely go into a store unless I do. We haven’t even run into our neighbours.

My wife and I had a very good chat with our neighbors. It lasted three hours in their home. We do this every three or four days. We still use the translator on our mobiles, but it works perfectly. With our neighbors in our home country and the same language we did not have much contact.

I will find something to brighten my day, there is so much more to be grateful for

I did just that, I went to the horse farm down the road from me and asked if I could spend some
time taking photos. We got to talking and I mentioned I hadn't brushed a horse in sooo long.
They said "We can take care of that!" and got me a brush and curry comb and brought me a
horse.
Feeling that nose and that neck really got me out of my funk of the day. I brushed 3 by the time
I left. It's such small things, old familiar scents and sounds that can just lift you up and let you see
there is good still in this world that needs help from us.
I forgot to take a single photo once that brush was in my hand, how funny. Maybe another day.

Spent the day watching and minimally helping the contractor with the eave/roof work. For details, see the diary "Enter at your own Risk". Of course, we found worse problems than expected but then I do expect worse than planned with every project.

Pray it doesn't rain tonight; that section of the roof is naked.

Morning gang!! Up too early today, 4am, now 5am,
42F outside, chance of precip today, high of 55 or so...got some soreness issues but so what?!....had
a good visit from a couple last eve, sat and chewed
the fat for about 3 hrs or more....no plans at all
yet, but brain still in boot-up mode LOL.....;):coffee::coffee::devilish:

It’s amazing how much difference some sunshine can make. Yesterday was overcast and grey; I felt blah all day. Today, it’s bright blue skies and I feel perky and ready to accomplish something. Just don’t know what yet. Also I slept reasonably well last night.

I actually kind of like it when it's overcast. I find it cozy. I like to get into a blankie and chill out when it's like that. :coffee:

Doing ok this morning. I think I have a gluten allergy so I am going gluten free to see what happens. I haven't felt well for quite some time and things are getting worse so I am gonna give it a go.
