He lives in the western UP of Michigan on the south shore of Lake Superior. For a change, this isn't lake effect sNOw so they won't get as much as places like Escanaba. Weird, but Escanaba is on the north shore of Lake Michigan, and they don't get much sNOw at all. Well, comparatively speaking, that is. Their usual sNOwfall is only about 50" for the season. Where my brother is, the usual sNOwfall is anywhere between 150"-300", depending on whether it's an El Nino year or not. El Nino years produce lower amounts.@Georgiagranny
Whereabouts does your brother live that he gets those snow totals? Especially in mid March?
I'm so curious.

It's a normal day for me and that's a good thing as I generally enjoy my days, for which I am very grateful.

The weather is cold today, but no snow so, I'm not complaining.
Taking Lucius on his second walk in about 30 mins and then I can chill out, watch trashy tv (I know) and play Animal Crossing.

Sunrise was today at 7:01 AM. Depending on the outside temperature, I go walking/hiking starting before sunrise at expected
100+ degree daytime temperature, or much later on a cold winter day. Today birds greeted the new day for about two hours
after sunrise, and then it got quiet because they started searching for breakfast.
I saw, but didn't get pictures of, one roadrunner and two hawks. Especially when larger birds see that I focus my camera on
them, then the quickly take off. Apparently, they feel uncomfortable being stared at. Aside from birds, I also saw a coyote,
rabbits, squirrels, and a lizard on my window screen.
@StarSong I bet you are aware that the Southland has a greatly varying climate: cooler at the ocean and in the mountains
at 7,000 feet (Big Bear City,) while it is warmer inland to a varying degree (San Fernando Valley vs. Inland Empire,) and it is
usually hottest in the lower desert (like the city of Palm Desert.) You are still a little bit better off than we are, but also have
had worse wild fires than us.

Love the pictures, hate (yes hate) the weather forecast! We barely had a winter this year and now it's freakin' Summer in March. I really wish I could move to a place where it's NOT so hot most of the time. I find the heat oppressive and depressing.

Air conditioning, girls. I stay inside in the heat. I remember nights in Los Angeles that were so warm the sidewalk never really cooled off. Or days that were so hot the asphalt would give under my shoes.
Personally, when outside in the cold here in the Mid Atlantic, I can't seem to get quite warm enough, no matter how much I put on. Suppose I'll always be a So. Cal. girl at heart.

When I was younger, I didn't mind the heat. Something changed when I started having my own personal summer (hot flashes) and at this point, I can't tolerate heat well at all.Air conditioning, girls.

I live inside all summer, and from July-September, I expect it.
Last year we had a really nice winter, this year it seemed extra warm.
It doesn't help that time goes so fast these days it will be Christmas again in the blink of an eye

We had a thunderstorm in the wee hours that was so bad it woke me up. I usually sleep right through them. It was 57 when I got up at 7. It's 43 now and gonna get colder (and windy) all day. Hard freeze tonight. I won't be playing in the dirt today.

They said an atmospheric river was starting last night. It came as white stuff. It‘s one of the rare snowfalls we’ve had all winter. A young neighbour came twice in the night and shovelled some of the driveways. They’re small but this is heart attack snow. The ski hills needs this for spring break crowds.
I can bundle up but having sometimes to use those thicker gloves drives me nuts. Try separating your house
key from a ring of keys to get into your house with all the bags you can carry. My hands are always freezing cold.

Sorry about all my complaints about the heat. I am blessed to have AC and so many people have actual problems. I will try to refrain from whining on a regular basis all summer.

Yanno how sometimes a murder will be solved and the body was encased in concrete? How do they know there's a body in the concrete? Do those heat-seeking gizmos "see" through concrete? And a body would be cold so how would the heat-seeking gizmo know? Asking for a friend
