How are you today?

This came up on my Facebook timeline from seven years ago when I was in Lexington, Kentucky… thought I’d share it was a special memory

After a stormy night, we are having a very blustery day. Watched three neighborhood children outside the front window: having commandeered a flat bed sheet, two held the front corners while the third (on roller skates) held on to the "tail". As the wind filled the sheet, the two at the head took turns racing up the sidewalk, pulling the third in the wake of the billowing material. Hair flying, cheeks pink, faces bright with exhilaration. Lovely to see kids outside, using their imagination and getting some exercise =)

Reflecting on yesterday. The school shooter thread reminded me.

I stopped at some outlet stores yesterday. I was walking down a sidewalk in front of the stores. Only me and a very tall big young man walking toward me. He didn't look happy and I was about to smile and say hi when he started very angrily and loudly cursing in Spanish. Not at me, he was looking forward (lucky I'm short). Scared the you know what out of me. I ducked into a store and people were looking out the window. The clerk looked at me and said " Oh, sorry!"
He cursed and punched the air all the way down.

I thought later of the people you read about minding their own business and Wham they are punched or stabbed.
I never would have had time to react.
Everyone be careful!

I have been approaching a few people who suddenly burst out in an angry tone and realized they had a ear phone in. You just never
know though do you?

At the grocery store people just are talking. You dont know if they are talking to you or not then you realize they have ear phones on. I dont use ear phones, never liked them
Me either. Truth is, I think it's quite rude for people to be yakking on the phone while shopping. I'm not referring to someone taking a quick call, it's those who loudly blather on throughout their entire shopping trip.

It really gets on my nerves.

At least we can’t hear the other half of the conversation. I really hate it when I can hear both sides. Either they’re a yeller or they have it on hands-free.

I've read about other shoppers chiming in on the conversation when they've heard both sides. When the person with a phone gives a dirty look, the other shopper feigns innocence and says something like, "I thought this was a public conversation since you have it on SPEAKERPHONE!."

When our small company had a retail component, we had a rule. If a customer approached us or our employees for help or to check out, unless the call was immediately pertinent to the order (They're out of black, honey, should I buy navy or do you want to wait until they're back in stock?) we'd say, "Please step aside so I can help the next customer while you finish your conversation."

They ALWAYS hung up the phone.

Good morning, Invsipeeps. It's gonna be hot again. This week it's summer (in the upper 80s); next week it's spring (in the low to mid-70s).

This will come as a surprise...I have things to do in the garden ;).

And today is laundry day. Hate that I missed yesterday's National Laundry Day celebration. I bet there was a parade. I love parades. Drat.
