How are you today?

I did something this morning I try never to do and now I know why that is a good rule.
I was pouring feed from the bigger bag into the smaller one --- bending from my waist
instead of squatting.
Hot pain shot out, stars were all over the place and felt like I was going to pass out.
Still a bit shaky but standing doesn't hurt but I do get resistance when sitting.
I was going to mow the front yard while DH was at work but not sure about it now.
Ice packs or heating pads?
I hope you are feeling a bit better IrishEyes.
How are you doing?

The heating pad and I had a pretty warm love affair going throughout the day.
The first hour of so when I got in bed was difficult to figure out which way
to sleep. I guess I found the correct position as I was able to get out of bed
pretty smoothly. We shall see how the day goes and if I can resist doing something
needless to aggravate the progress. That is the hardest part - the Whoa Lady, that
can wait! part.

Last year, I had an IRA account at a bank that was taken over by a larger bank. Since I only found negative information about the new bank, I closed my account last August. The next month, I received a statement showing a zero balance, which was fine, as it documented my records, and I filed it away. Ever since then, I continue receiving zero bank statements. In this age when few companies like sending paper, I find it really odd.

Yesterday, I received another zero statement and a form 5498 (for IRA accounts) showing a zero balance, my social, my (former) bank a/c number, but none of the other fields were filled in. It said, "This notice is being provided to the Internal Revenue Service." That last part bothered me a bit, since it may unnecessarily draw unwanted attention from the IRS. I called the bank at the phone number on the form, held for 20 minutes, then got a dim wit who offered no explanation and was zero helpful. Finally just filed it all away. I suppose I'll get zero statements from now on.

Withdrawing from any retirement account is reported to the IRS. Maybe they sent the 0 balance statements because since it is a retirement account, you must actively close it? Not just zero balance but tell them to close it? IDK.

When I sold a house, the paperwork specifically said that the sale was being reported to the IRS.

Withdrawals made by the account holder are reported to the IRS because they are taxable. However, an account holder may withdraw the entire balance of the IRA and redeposit it within 60 days in another banking institution. To do so is reportable, but is not taxable.

An institutional rollover (bank to bank) of the entire balance of an IRA account is not reportable. That is why it is the preferred method of rolling over an IRA.

These statements apply to simple or traditional IRA's, not to Roth or other type IRAs.

The bank which initiated the intitution-to-institution transfer specifically advised me the transfer is not reportable and it is stated on paperwork I have on file from the bank.

I will be sending a certified letter to the former bank advising them the account should be closed and I'm keeping a copy in my tax records. But regardless of what they do, no tax is due on an empty account profile shell.

Oh wow do I hear you. My heating pad and I have become inseparable. I slept with it last night and it's a good thing that it turns itself off. I turned it up last night hoping it would take the soreness out of my legs and rear end. I have to wait to do more too and it's rough. I hope you will feel better!💗

Yes, definitely better today I can sit more comfortably at least. Movement is more fluid. Just that slight tightness in the muscles.
Hope you get to a better day yourself. I knew these days were going to come but wasn't quite ready for that jolt of warning.
I will think of you every time I see my heating pad now 💗

I have a lingering illness. Not the kind where people normally die from it but I have treating it according to what doctors recommend. Some people do die if left untreated or if they are just unlucky.
Taking antibiotics for a sinus infection.
I was such a talented boxer that after being too much of an opponent for a kid my age he suggested that I go a round or two with his older, much bigger brother.
Loving the sport and after not having my fill at that time I was stupid enough to give it a try.
One punch broke my nose. I was afraid of getting into trouble so I didn’t tell my Mom and I remember living with the stinging pain for about two weeks.
The results from that have been my deviated septum where the cartilage inside my nose blocks off too much of one side and makes me susceptible to sinusitis more than the average person.

Having a nice morning. Last night we had dinner at one of our son's house. A very pleasant evening, lots of chatting, and a delicious dinner. We also met their newest rescue dog who had apparently been hit by a car.
He's had surgery and is currently hobbling on 3 legs. Whether the (now dangling) back leg will be useful to again is open to question. DDIL happens to be an occupational therapist so she's got some tricks up her sleeve and works with him every day.

DS & DDIL adopt their pets through a last-chance rescue organization that helps cats and dogs who are medically compromised (needing $$$ treatment).

The animals seem to instinctively understand the kindnesses being extended to them and are extremely loving.

A few days ago a woman came for a talk with my son and my ex came too. Do you also clean up in the house, vacuum? No not really. Ex: That's because she thinks only she can do it good enough. LOL Wut? Now that was funny. It did look spotless cause I replaced the carpets the rabbits shitted on hahahahahahaha how? For 12 years we had fights cause I was a messy slob and now he seriously thought I was a neatfreak who thought my son didn't vacuum good enough. That was funny.
