How do I delete a post?

If you do it quickly enough )I don't know the time limit), you can click on the down arrow by "report" in the lower left corner and you'll be given the opportunity to edit or delete.

After that, you'll have to contact Matrix, the admin, and ask him to do it.
Go back to post. Erase it. Then, just type one letter or symbol and press 'Save.' Your post will be blank except for that one letter or symbol.

No, you can't delete your own posts, but you can freely edit them within 24 hours, which has pretty much the same effect.

We do grant a small privilege to our contributing members (those with 10,000 posts): the ability to delete their own posts. However, this is also limited to within 24 hours of posting.

Thanks for letting us know!

I appreciate all of your helping me. Truly. I posted a metaphorical question and that was deleted. I didn't mean any harm to anyone at all. I'm still navigating around this site, and I believe I have to be a member for quite some time to get the privilege of deleting a post within the next day or 2 days after that. Also, from the help of one wonderful person (V) on here, I'm not able to post a direct answer to a person w/o it going public until some time goes by as well. How much time? I don't know. I thank you again for all of your help. So, appreciated.

do you mean your metaphorical question was deleted but not by yourself?

which means by Matrix - presumably because it broke one of the forum rules.

if it is over 24 hours after posting, and therefore too late to edit (and you can edit to say "deleted" which deletes what you said but not that you posted) then you could contact Matrix to say you realise your post contravenes the rules or you regret posting it for some reason - and ask him to delete it for you.

Well to tell you the truth, I don't know. Is Matrix the monitors of this site? I didn't even know what an Avatar was until someone told me what it was. Just being real (and dense) if you will. I don't know how to delete anything, but I get the gist I have to be a member for a while in order to have those options. I don't think I broke any rules. Maybe the Matrix monitors thought I did? Again, I don't know. Still learning. Thanks.
