How do you decorate your writing space?

My writing space tends to be a room designated to that, or, alternatively, our living room. I find my room isn't that attractive. How does yours look?

My apartment is a studio apartment so instead of a dining area I have my office.



Next to my chair is my bookcases and the entrance door beyond that. The bookcase has all my office supplies and CD's.

One bedroom was converted into an office when I retired. I don't feel any need to decorate that space, since no one sees it but me. I just want it uncluttered, with everything conveniently within reach and as functional as possible.

A corner of my LR dedicated to my "office." Have one other picture, of medieval monk, that I hope cats leave alone.

Wow...I use a small old desk from 1950s painted red.from when I was a child. Big drawers and I write or use it daily 2 to 3 hours on serious hard work. No distractions. Cozy set up with a printer, a few books

Your desk is fine if you like it is all that matters

On the wall up to the ceiling behind my desk are nine medium-sized framed pictures and and a very large ALl IN ONE HP computer on the desk. FOUR OF THE PICTURES are of closed doors in front of structures and as soon as l find the keys and open the doors l'll find the meaning of life which so far has eluded me. Everything l have around me holds the secret of life which l have still never found. l have the feeling that l'm looking in all the wrong places. l hope to find the right place once in my life probably after l go and discover l've been in the right place all along. THERE IS NONE SO BLIND AS SHE WHO WILL NOT SEE.

I admire the space you've created to write in but I wonder if you had wanted to start a Diary thread like the one I have for gardening for nature, walks with my dogs and the books I'm reading? My writing area is an old desk in my bedroom beside by bed. But before it became my bedroom it had been the guest room and housed Lia's art teaching library. I may try to get some pictures in there but the lighting is pretty minimal as we're in an old warehouse with minimal natural light.

If so you can do so here: Diaries. Here you can also view the titles of diaries others have started. Some of us just keep one but I believe some have several.

Oh I think I know what you were referring to as I showed you the place in the garden I set up to write on a recent too warm and sunny day, under a little tree beside the fountain.

The black bag is what I'd carried down my computer in and the kneeler doubled as a surface to support my laptop..

But during the colder sunny days toward the end of winter I was choosing to sit more fully in the sun for warmth. From here you can see the shaded spot I choose for more shade.

Sitting for any length of time is not comfortable no matter where I set up but I do like to put my feet up from time to time. In doors I tend to choose a couch with good back support or my office chair beside my bed.

How do you decorate your writing space?​

I don't. The only thing I care about is that the movement of my fingers, hands, arms, and elbows are not restricted by distracting and encroaching objects.

I don't write, so I have no writing space. If I did, It would be in the spare room upstairs. I would decorate with plants and some framed art.
