How Do You Feel About Net Neutrality?

I am for it in theory, but I fear that it will be abused however it is implemented.

My thing with any utility service is that is delivered over public rights of way the public should have a say in those services. It's not totally free market yet many of those services are optional, not a necessity.

The issue should not be net neutrality (tho that's important and I would support it) the more important and neglected issue is net access.
We should have fiber to each homestead by now.

Access should be a priority. And there plenty of ways they could get basic internet access to many. The key is basic access, not the faster speeds or capacity to download movies, tv etc but to research, conduct business with some basic surfing including the ability to post, send emails etc.

It's not just about fiber, properly maintained copper and/or broadband could provide an economical choice to many. But the key word is maintained which is exactly what the cry baby bell phone companies do not want to do. Maintenance can be a big expense. Also fiber requires a little more equipment and/or power.

I remember reading about fiber in the 90s I saw where just to get fiber into all the neighborhoods, not houses of a town was 35 million dollars. It was based on a model/experiment that was supposed to be the future but never materialized. The final stretch to the customer house is where many of money and logistical issues are.
