How do you feel about standardized testing for College entrance?

I graduated with a 4 year degree from a well known state college. What useful minutiae of facts did I take with me? Probably not much, but certainly a moderate expansion of my vocabulary, an ability to better express myself in writing, and an ability to better prepare for a use of, or a test of, my knowledge of a specific subject. All that proved useful later in life.
