How do you feel about...

Ah, yes, the "alphas" of the world, sigh. There are some who love bossing around others because it's fun; there are those who really believe that they are smarter than anyone else they've ever met and if everyone would just do what they say, the world'd be a better place. The ones I've known seem to have been born that way.

I actually saw a t-shirt for sale the other day online, I'm not sure if it was supposed to be satirical or not, but it read "I Have a PhD: Let's Just Assume I'm Right."

I'm not even sure I'd engage with someone wearing that.

I haven't experienced this overly bossy type of person much in my adult life. Just a couple of people I can think back to when I was working in a job or two, many years before I retired.

Back when I was plagued by that situation, it led me to self inquiry. I sought to pinpoint how I could improve, and doing that was usually good for me. But if I saw that a certain person was hyperciritcal with all those around him, and grumped his way through the day — then I seemed to figure out and make use of ways to work around him. It came down to succeed at that, or quit the job.

One such individual confessed to me (in rare a moment of humility) that he'd never done anything to make his parents proud. So I believe that, usually, the "too bossy" type is either truly frustrated in his/her life, or is just control oriented and somewhere on the narcissistic spectrum.
