How do you fit 28 people in an SUV

They were lappers. That’s what we (pilots) call babies onboard a plane that sit on their parents lap.
These smugglers stuff them in and have them sitting on top of one another as many times as possible. I read that as many as 1700 unattended kids are coming across the border each day.

I also read that the government is busing them to different cities in the U.S. Then what? I have no idea, but this is just wrong. Some of these children are being trafficked, raped and sold for other means. This is a mess.

These human smugglers go to extreme lengths to bring Hispanics across the border. This isn't the first time several have been killed trying to find a better life. There have been several reports, in recent years, of large number of these people dying after being squeezed into large trucks, etc.
If the drivers of these vehicles survives, they should be charged with manslaughter, or worse, IMO.

Getting more updates. Youngest person in the vehicle was 15. (so at least no infants dying).
Seems there was a section of border wall cut down and 2 vehicles of smuggles drove through.
Immigration caught the other vehicle that was carrying 19 people. and contrary to some slanted news reports, it was not chasing the one that crashed.

I love it, the great impregnable wall ........NOT!

A few years ago, there were several news stories about horrible tragedies involving refugees from countries in Asia and Africa, trying to escape from brutal regimes by boat, and drowning. I remember one story about a ferry that sank, and several stories about lifeboats packed with men, women, and children, where they also died. People who are desperate take desperate measures. Sometimes they (and their children) don't make it.

The important thing about this story is not the SUV. It is tragic that they had to take measures like that to try to escape from poverty and brutality. But I have very little sympathy for the "coyote" who probably owned the unsafe vehicle he was (unsafely) driving.
