How do you get your news

I watch Good Morning America (ABC) for the headlines, but I also learn current events from late night shows like Stephen Colbert and Jimmy Kimmel because a humorous delivery is the only way I can stomach the current news.

Actually I've found that a lot of my learning comes from a political debate forum in which I participate. Each member typically posts a viable source for any claim they make and if I have certain opinions about something I also research and verify it. If I look at things with an open mind, I sometimes find that my assumptions were wrong.

I said I wanted to keep learning in retirement, and when it comes to politics I've learned a lot. Probably more than I wanted to.

A variety of ways, including NBC until Dish got in a spitting contest with Gray Media.

They each accuse the other of pulling the plug. Tisses me off as I lost my local NBC channel who has the best weather team in my viewing area😔 I wish they would both get off their d-a-m-n high horses.😤😤

Now I listen to ABC and sometimes Fox until they get too carried away with their views on certain issues.

The radio when I’m in the car because a couple of stations do a good job of delivering local news/gossipšŸ˜ŽšŸ˜Ž

I read the Guardian, BBC, AP news, and sometimes Der Spiegel. I read the foreign paper just to get a better perspective. IMO, our news is so biased and so much is lied about or not mentioned, that it is hardly worth reading it. I also listen to Stephen Colbert's monologue every night because he is funny and I get info about the news at the same time. Sometimes, I read Al Jazeera.

I sure don't get it from here. I like to see all the members takes on things and also
hurts when I see it get personal between members.
It's hard I know not to keep personal feelings out of things going on today.
Each one has the right to feel and express their thoughts.
I like to see all sides of issues and make up my own mind, I do the same with news media.
I don't like watching video's, you never know for sure if is not edited in some way.
I hate the situations today, I see what could be wrong and right. But I sure don't
want a world war to prove I was right or wrong about leaders.

The only news I watch is on Good Morning America and World News Tonight (the succinct version of the same reports). I read news from several different sources via my Google News, Smart News and Newsbreak apps. I also get news via email from 1440. My good friend keeps telling me I should also go to independent news publications like Democracy Now for the real deal on what's happening in the world. My husband and I used to listen to Democracy Now.

Mostly I start my day off watching CNBC to get a look at whats happening around the world that affects the world markets.
Not for any pricing info about stocks, just seems to give me an insight into what might be coming down the road...

I use my phone to access a local news outlet thus avoiding the happy, over-smiling hosts on TV.

I don’t watch or listen to the news. I find the news upsetting and I don’t like being upset.
When I come to the site and search through the threads, I can get an idea of whats going on by reading the thread titles. If I want to know more I’ll open the thread but usually I don’t.

I tried watching World News just now while having supper. Most all of it was about how we will see ongoing gas prices rising and the cost of everything that gets shipped.
