How is Avira- antiviral software?

I downloaded Avira, the antiviral software- the free version. As I understand it, to get the really great version, you have to pay. That comes out to be about $9-10.month. If it does all the good stuff it's supposed to do, it would be worth it.
How is Avira? Yes/No?
 

I've had pretty good luck with it. I have it on one computer and had Avast on the other; the Avast started being bothersome, so I've got both on Avira now. So far so good.

I've heard, though, that the free versions are just fine; I hope some other SFers chime in with their opinion on that
 
It gets pretty good reviews from PC Magazine. I had no idea that so many of the anti-virus products are owned by the same company, according to the article:
"Avira is owned by Gen Digital. Gen also owns Avast, AVG, LifeLock, Norton, and a host of other companies."
