How is that our kids lose respect for us as we age?

We live in a woke society. Next time you see a riot or a community being attacked, or any type of demonstration in front of someone’s house or in the street, look close to see who the majority is leading the charge. Young, woke college students or just younger woke insignificants that probably doesn’t have and maybe never had a job.

What would you do if someone stuck an AK-47 in your faces?

Man Found Guilty
I'm sorry, or not sorry, to say that IMO there is a lot of narcissism in wokeness.

I didn't see a single young face in the mob on January 6th two years ago!

Respect is earned. Many parents and grandparents let their children and grand children walk all over them. No way would the children or grand children yell or talk over their elders in our family.

There's a song by Harry Chapin .. "Cat's in the Cradle" .. which often echoes in my mind when I wonder why my kids sometimes seem to have forgotten about us or seem distracted when I'm talking to them. This used to appear rude to me but I've come to realise that the world we live in is vastly different to the one I grew up in. The cost of living, the pressures of a demanding career (that would, ironically, be the career that we mention to friends as the proud parents of successful children), both partners working at the expense of time spent with their children (our grandchildren) and so on. I don't believe that my children have lost respect for me (us) I think that life has just got in the way.
