Temp forecast is for sub-zero temps all day. The forecast is getting progressively worse and inaccurate, but at least it got the day correct.
Yesterday we decided to risk the winter conditions and go to town for some groceries. For the first part, the roads were in a pretty poor condition, then suddenly they were clear of snow and the temp rose to 5C.

Got the shopping done, but the road conditions were the exact reverse - started off clear, and then suddenly they were bad again. At least, we won't starve.
 
I’m going to decompress and do nothing but relax today. I had a breast biopsy on Wednesday and yesterday got the results that it was benign. I’m so relieved 😮‍💨
My annual mammogram was 2 months ago and it took so long to get the biopsy. They were all booked up for months and I’m sure short staffed because of the Holidays. I’m exhausted from worry.

BTDT @MaidMarian. It is exhausting, and I'm glad it's benign.

Much of our area is without power this morning, but so far we're okay. Our temp never got lower last night than 32F, and the outages were caused by trees down over power lines. Temps tonight expected to be in the mid-teens, which isn't good. Whatever doesn't melt and dry today will make for treacherous conditions tomorrow. The metro-wide bus service shut down yesterday morning and is still not operating. There was no mail delivery, and since Thursday was a national day of mourning no mail then, either.

I wanted to go outside and make a sNOw angel yesterday. It would have been fun, but getting up again might have been a problem:ROFLMAO:

You really have to wonder if people are just plain stupid or if the weather has scrambled their brains. Nextdoor was full of "does anybody know if..." such-and-so restaurant is delivering, such-and-so store is open. Duh. Apparently it didn't occur to them to call the business and ask.

It will be an interesting day.

Exactly the same here. It's a beautiful day here - bright sunshine and clear blue sky - but freezing cold. Our central heating boiler is playing up. I've got a new part for it, but since it's an outside boiler, I'm trying to keep it going till the snow melts and it's easier to work at. I've just checked the kerosene level and I should have enough to last into February. The fuel price fluctuates wildly, but with no mains gas here, heating has to be done with oil or LPG.

this is the problem we have in the surrounding villages, there is no piped gas so everyone I know in those villages rely on Oil, at the vastly fluctuating prices.. as you say...

Yesterday afternoon when Marcia picked me up to go dog sit Tage, he was in the car
He was so excited to see me,tail wagging licking my left ear,thought he was going to jump in my lap LOL!. This was the 1st time I had been with him since mid- Nov,was with him for 2 1/2 hrs,made my day
This morning on my early walk at 6:45 went to buy local paper for myself& friend Connie, hadn't done this in awhile. The temp was 25 felt 'balmy' considering the last couple days temps were in the teens
I have no plans for today, catch up on paperwork, read paper,maybe go for another walk.Yesterday afternoon, my new neighbor, Marilyn moved in haven't met her yet. It will be an adjustment for me since that apt has been vacant since mid Aug
 
This house was all electric. The thought of a power outage for any period of time in winter was a bit worrisome. I spent a bunch of money, had a propane tank installed and filled, and a propane heater that operates without electricity in the main living area. Works Great! I like this better than the electric heater, although it does create condensation on the windows. Oh, well.

Peace of mind has no price! Alternate heat sources seem to be turning into a must.
 
Morning everyone....11deg here today, may get into 40's or not
chance of sNoW later today too, and also tomorrow....I had an
enoyable eve yesterday, to make up for my little disasters, saw
3 deer on my exterior cam, walking from cemetery, they all
gathered around a big tree at end of driveway, and started feeding on the IVY that is still growing on it, they stood for
15 mins or more feeding off the tree, and that was so cool!!!:)(y)

Oh, I'm so sorry. DH had prostate cancer and lives with worry. You certainly seem in excellent health with your walking!

Laundry is a never-ending circle. Sysiphus had it easier! My suggestion of an old fashioned potatoes bin as in fill from the top and pull out from the bottom got down voted in favor or color coded and finger spaced.

Yes, some laundry. Cookies for SO's play date tomorrow. He ordered a new steam mop. Is it better than the old one? Social Security Office was closed Thursday and Friday. SO may have to drop of his and my paperwork for assessment appeal using a PoA as I will not leave workers alone with Izzi. She is very skittish and an in door cat. Monday-Friday is remodel of a bathroom from tub to walk in shower. Monday geothermal company #2 will be here to check on repair. No call back yet about a system replacement. Considering the weather those without heat have priority! My priority is the instant water dispenser which gave me sticker shock.

Ribs still hurt like media so life happens in slow motion. Grrr!

Ladies - I tried WOW Dreamcoat on my long slightly curly hair by just drying it with a paddle brush. No rats nests at all for three days😀 If this is considered spam please delete. Thank you.

It is so cold I will quit shaving my legs and grow winter fur!
