How is your day Today? Chat about your plans and achievements 2025....

I slept on my bright idea of dusting this morning. Still don't know because while I'm upright and my eyes are open, I'm not really awake yet.

It rained last night! Yup. Not a whole lot but enough that I don't have to water the garden. It's gonna be a warm day. Overnight a cold front is supposed to come through and leave us wishing for summer again. Should we believe it?

Besides dusting, there are flowers that really need to be deadheaded. I'm going to think on it.
I moved some hostas yesterday. The area I wanted to plant was so hard I had to douse it with water before I could get my shovel in an inch.
I hope your rain comes this way!

They've been building here too, knocked down 1/2 the woodland to do it..... the last 4 years.. 400 new houses... but thankfully not as close as yours are going to be.... 1/4 of a mile ?.. that's only 400 yards .. and then they'll be roads as well, and much more traffic...
There is a farm near us and the owner has died. Rumor in the neighborhood is that the son wants his Mom to sell to a developer of apartment buildings. The Mom is saying no way! I hope she wins the battle.
Land "for development" is on sale about a mile down the other side of us.
I already see traffic building in our little neighborhood from the apartment complexes that have already gone up across the highway.
Progress. People need a place to live.
50 years ago we were the progress. Our neighborhood was built on farm fields. There was nothing out here when our home was built. Now there's Wal-Mart and all your cookie cutter gas stations and fast food.

whenever I see houses built in precisely the same and exactly the same as each other... this song always pops into my head..

The TV show. "Weeds" used a variation of the song as its intro. I use it as my ringtone on my phone
I currently live in a sub division that was built 60 years ago, they built 3 styles of bungalows and followed that pattern.
Now a days, new couples who buy a home, tear it down and build up a 2 story monster on the property.

Morning all, on my early walk at 6:50 temp was cool 54, as I walked around building twice ,saw the moon then the sun slowly rising
No 'road trip' this week with Mary she just had her kitchen redone/painted, having friends from out of town visiting .This morning taking the bus to our favorite $ store, need to buy some birthday/anniv cards
The rest of my day read NYT, afternoon stroll, read my book
Tonight on PBS at 8pm watch season finale of 'Big Cats' which I find fascinating
Everybody have a great day

Good morning to everyone. It looks like a nice day today. They are doing road work here in the neighborhood and digging up some roads. It makes it hard to get around and out onto the highway.

We are going to take the car to the service center tomorrow for work it might need. Some things need to be done after a car is 10 years old. Prices have gone up a lot for parts and labor, so hope it doesn't cost a lot.

Have a nice day to all. :)

I had an oh-look-shiny moment. Again. So now I'm taking a short break. The dusting is taking longer than usual because I'm doing more than a quick swish over stuff. When it's done, the vacuum will be hauled out.

While dusting, the need for washing bathroom walls became very apparent. Very. It's been 16 years.

Hey! Guess who isn't cooking today? Mexican potato soup tomorrow because it's gonna be cold, but the crew can eat leftovers tonight. Or whatever DD cooks.

I have a day at home?!! With nothing scheduled?!!

Actually, I have a good amount of (little) things that I would like to accomplish today. The question is: will I actually do any of them?

I think I'll start a "done" list.

Afternoon peeps of SF.... 🍂

You couldn't make this up, .... I had a voiicemail message asking me to call the Plastic surgery unit at the hospital to make an appt for results of the latest X-rays...

The NHS is notorious for not answering phones for a long time.. and this was no different. I waited and waited for about 30 minutes , then I got down to number 2 in the Queue,. and sat on that one for 20 minutes.. before eventually getting through . The receptionist says.. what's your NHS number.. I tell her.. then I hear an alarm going off at her end.. and she says.'' sorry we've got to evacuate the building the fire alarm is going off''.. and she was gone !

I doubt very much that there was a fire ( i hope there wasn't) .. these false alarms are always going off... but the irritating thing is that when I call again.. there will be a longer phone queue.. of all the people who have been trying to get through during the time they were out of the building...

Made my annual trip to a nearby apple farm. As expected, prices are up from last year - 14 apples cost me $13.50 - that just under $1 apiece. Better quality and size than is the usual at a supermarket, so it's worth it to me. My problem is where to put them. At my old house, I had an enclosed back porch that was relatively cool and protected. Not at my new house. Keeping them indoors will make them dehydrate very quickly and on an open porch is an invitation for wild animals. I guess the garage will have to do.
