Today I trained, did physical therapy, grocery store and then over to the ski locker room to see what's what. My gear is ready and waiting for the delayed opening, which is tomorrow. Sadly the powers that be restricted all gear to the lockers themselves which will prevent me from using boot heaters so no warm boots in the mornings. I would plug the heaters in to the receptacle and hide them behind a couch. A couple very entitled people ruined it.

Anyway skiing starts tomorrow so it'll be fun even though it's only 3 runs, but still 3000' or 915m of vertical. These are the lifties training on the new RFID ticket checking system so no more showing one's ski pass! We've finally joined the 21st century.

when you say you ''did physical therapy '' ( called Physiotherapy here) ...do you mean you had physio or you gave it to someone else ?:)

i did some table shouting therapy with a group of similar inclined - all got hearing aids - we eat rolls and sup beverages [non-alcoholic] and have a bloody good laugh talking wot we think is sense but for those across the table non-sense - my peculiar sense of humour just clicks in automatically and I have a great fun time - not sure about the rest - some seem to have either serious faces or bemused ones?

and then the icing on the cake so to speak - we drive around from place to place dropping people home or at the PO etc only the driver and me and me mate left - then he says can't understand some of these Aborigines sit around all day on their arses doin nothing? - I gulped and said nothing - the driver is Indigenous I thought he was and my wife is?

I remained silent but it doesn't bother him cos he usually tells the same story each week .After he alight I off loaded to the driver who I know very well - she told me : "he's not Oz Aboriginal he's a kiwi - could have knocked me down with a flag staff - wot a morning! - lessons to be learned and savoured -

I had spent the morning talking to a'mate' from Malaysia originally; he Islamic and me Token christian - don't let them tell you that old folk don't have fun lives - it happens everyday!!

It's done to me. I use the term physical therapy incorrectly to distinguish a therapeutic massage which can be really painful, but it releases all my trigger points and increases my range of motion in my shoulders and hips. I find movement so much easier with regular therapeutic massage, chiropractic, and training so that's what I do.

We have a portable massage table so I can treat my wife or others, and I know where to find the knots, but I'm not talented enough to know how much pressure each person can tolerate.

I finally cleared the clutter off our dining table on which we rarely eat our meals. I also baked a butternut squash my son picked up for me about a week ago. It was hard to cut and the membrane holding the seeds didn't come out easily, but the baking process was simple. I hadn't made butternut squash in decades but intend do it more often going forward. I'll get my son to cut the squash for me though. I'm so clumsy that I have to be extra careful not to cut myself.

I watched a couple of T.V. programs, ate a snack then took an impromptu nap in the late afternoon after putting away the refrigerator items my son brought from Shoprite. This evening I balanced my checkbooks.

Everyone.......

Good night, sweet dreams.jpg

Everybody have a good day

Good reason to have a dedicated set of winter tires.
Funny thing is DH is a born and raised Chicago area guy. He's lived this far longer than I have. So he knows about the tires.
I think it's a reasonable excuse for him to get a day off is the underlying issue.
To his defense though, Chicago land does clean their roads much quicker and cleaner than they do here. We are in a rural
area so snowplows get to us last. I sat and watched 4 neighbors sliding all over the hill trying to get out. Only one 4x4
made it and that was because he was the 1st before the snow was packed to ice.
