How is your day Today? Chat about your plans and achievements 2025....

no they're not cold sore, they're mouth ulcers, and I even got a blister on the gum where my front teeth meet the gum... just horrible :(

While we're still on the subject of moaning and medical... please indulge me just once more....

Most of you know I have OA in my hands and knees...I saw the consultant again 6 weeks ago, and got another Steroid injection.... he made a follow up call to me today after I'd had x-rays taken while I was at the hopsital.. and said.. that the X-ray shows I have extensive damage to the cartilage at the front of my kneecap which is causing the painful arthritis. As he's a knee surgeon who replaces whole kneecaps only .. he's going to refer me to his colleague who replaces just the front part of the kneecap... because he says the back and the rest of that area is fine.. it's just the front of the kneecap which is damaged beyond repair.. *sigh*
What is OA?

They apparently want someone that can monitor the operated on afterwards
That requirement is so mishandled (IMO), what really happens in my experience is that the family members (who theoretically are doing the monitoring) go to sleep at night too. I wish someone would market an inexpensive 48 hour post-anesthesia monitoring service, with wearable devices (for heart rate etc) and/or temporary camera surveillance and/or phone/text check-ins.

Not only that..most people can't afford the time to spend 24 hours with someone else..they have to go to work, which is what's gonna happen with my daughter. She can pick me up from the hospital, and take me home... and make sure all is well..get me a cuppa tea, ensure I'm settled, but then she has to go back home 70 miles away ... she has work and her elderly dog to see to...

Hate is a strong word ... I HATE smart phones and (some) apps.

I have an appointment tomorrow afternoon with my ENT doctor.
Today I received an email to download and install a patient app on my mobile phone, to verify information.

So I downloaded and installed the app just fine, no problem.
The login asked for a password ... which I wasn't provided in the email and this is my first use of the app.

I clicked on "forgot password" and received a link that carried right back to the app install page.

I tried for almost an hour and a half to get the darn app to work.
No matter what I tried, I was just going in circles. Nothing worked.
And I'd made changes to several things on my cell to try and figure it out.

Frustrated with failure, I called my ENT doctor's office.
They are always very busy and wanted to avoid the call.
Apparently many if not most folks have issues with the app and their smart phones !!!
Tracy cut me off while I was trying to explain my experience to her.
She flatly stated that I DO NOT need to install the app and don't worry about it. Shoot

Contractors are tearing out a bath tub. First geothermal contractor gave us a bid. Second one is in the attic. Home/car insurance moved to 25$ for paper and sent bills to an email which does not exist. This is going to be an interesting month to say the least. I am not even bringing my oh so dear instant hot water dispensor to SO's attention today.
Need to escape to the bank and the drugstore.
Cold!!!
I am considering going back to bed and claiming it is Sunday!

overcast, blah weather... this is the time of the year we need fiesta decorations up!

Groceries, veggies prepped for soup, took verification of nursing license renewal to work/office, visited Ed, and now waiting on youngest son to arrive so we can do a walmart run.

TTFN!

They do cover an annual wellness visit with the nurse. That is fine for my purposes for now. The Medicare manual clearly states it doesn't cover routine physicals.
The new thinking (not in practice yet) is to not wait until someone has a disease but to head it off beforehand. Makes so much more sense unless you are big pharma.
Yes I know that they don’t cover routine visits. But if you have any chronic conditions you can go yearly for free as long as they are coded correctly. Do you have any conditions at all?

My early morning walk at 7am temp was 34 but with the wind felt colder. I really didn't walk far to the garage driveway and back
Yesterday afternoon, asked Abby{ weekend receptionist} to put my name down to have the Gates SUV take me to Walgreens at 9am this morning, needed a couple items One of our maintenance guys will take us to where you need to go,drop you off, when you're done call back asking to be picked up. I was the only resident who signed up this morning,Luis super nice guy I like a lot, drove me to Walgreens& waited for me, 10 min later I came out and we were back at Gates within 15 min. This is one of the 'perks' about living here at Gates

I did some accounting this morning and got the kitchen cleaned up & dishes washed in the dishwasher a little earlier than usual.

I had nice conversations with my BFF and my granddaughter along with her (half) sister, who is my honorary granddaughter (HGD). HGD was actually FaceTiming with GD on her iPad and GD hooked it up so we could hear each other. Today was GD's 22nd BD..

I also binge watched episodes of Goosebumps: The Vanishing. @Georgiagranny still no dusting. 😅
