So kinda taking it slow on things, got last load of laundry in now, fed the critters, (birds) fed me, been looking at those
lift you up chairs, recliners, dunno if I want to spend that
much money, but could be i should,.....we will see...my minds
working overtime today, about you know whatever LOL@@@;)

Always good to hear from you, Hawkdon. We have some of the same problems and you handle them so well.

My car insurance went up to $460. per month. I freaked out and went with another insurer at $179. When I called Geico to cancel they lowered mine to $105. I miss having someone who has my back and I have to figure everything out on my own. What an education!

funnily enough. talking of car insurance I had mine with a well known company Direct line.. they were always the cheapest, and never made a fuss if they had to pay out..many cheap isnurance brokers are cheap because they find the slightest reason NOT to pay out on a claim..but DL were great, a few pounds rise every year , nothing major at all... until about 3 years ago, and suddenly my insurance almost doubled when it came for renewal.. no reason for it, I hadn't made any claims, ..

...so I searched for another insurer, and found one of our major Motor rescue services would give me not only less than my latest quote from DL.. but even less than I was originally paying, and for that I would also get free locks changed for my car and for my house if needed.. as well as several other added extras..

Well I stuck with them, but now it's due again next month and they've upped it by more than I'm happy with, altho' it's still very low compared to what most people are paying..so I shopped around again, and I've found Car Insurance with my Bank which is again lower than the original of the second company so I'm swapping over to them...

Tonight my neighbour brought me round 2 chicken Drumsticks, 2 bacon chops and a bowl of red pepper & tomato salad...

I was just about to start cooking something for dinner when she knocked the door.. so she timed that very well.. :D:love:
We look for good neighbors like yours,
but the kids are who we can count on.
June 29 Cookout with them is the plan.

This weekend its back to our Lake home.
Golf, Water, Shade and Cool Foods outdoors.
3 bands are planned before and thru July 4ths.

Laundry day. I sorted then went down this morning at 5:30 although rain was forecast. Thankfully I was back upstairs a half hour before it started to pour. For a change I started drying the clothes immediately because I felt I wouldn’t be napping until after they finished.

This afternoon my son came in and said an extended family member sent her regards. I asked where he saw her and he said at the polls (she always works there). I was like OMG…I forgot to go vote! So I got dressed again and went to the polling place, which blessedly is not far from home. Trying not to go to sleep at this computer (again).

It makes your head spin to deal with all this manipulation of rates.

yep, and some people just allow their insurances to renew without even checking that it's increased... ,.

Car Insurance in the UK has increased by a huge amount in the last 4 or 5 years..basically since Covid..like everything else that been affected ' since covid ...now we have a BC..before covid.. and AC ..after covid... .. Utilities are one of those things which have gone sky high..

Only today I was listening to a discussion on the radio in the car about the price of properties being so expensive .... and Electricity and Gas prices being so high.. and the Politican presenter said that in the USA they pay a whopping 60 % less for electricity than we do in the UK...

@hollydolly I've heard murmerings in the US that car insurance has doubled for some.
yes it might..I don't know...like I say they were discussing Electricity and Gas (heating) on that show today...I was astonished when he said that Americans pay 60 less than we do....however going back to Car Insurance, I would have imagined that the US driver pays more than we do in the UK...even tho' ours has gone sky high in recent years..... I could be wrong...but I just imagined it would be more expensive there..

We belong to a Community orgainzation that gets a price contract with the power Co. Power Co. Includes conventional power plants, Turbine and Solar farms. Solar farms encompassed around 600 acres in my area and several Wind Turbine farms further north of us. Mo. has much larger Wind Farms.

I am convinced Floor/Wall radiant Electric heat is the way to go. We use 2 main rooms in the home in cold weather.

The high efficient AC is a bit later for us. It would appear many homes and businesses are exploding because of
obsolete steel in the ground. The drills, backhoes and equipment is a constant observation and installing flexible
CN lines is a common observation now. It's common to drive the rural roads and see large black clouds off in the
distance of home explosions. Those dark black clouds look like nukes only black just went off 25 - 40 miles away.

A day spent at home except to buy 8 each 82 cent red bricks at HomeDepot.

HP Omen 35L desktop arrived at noon and am posting herein with it as I type. A fair amount of time and effort to reach this point with some bumps along the way. The fancy looking Bluetooth rose colored keyboard I'd Amazon purchased would never power up even after charging so set that up for a return. Thus will be back looking at other keyboard models tomorrow. Instead am using an old mechanically unpleasant HP keyboard and mouse.

just exploring options for purchasing a new portable radio - used to enjoy it as an alternative to the net. it had a peaceful calming effect. Now discovered that I am unable to purchase a radio times magazine which years back I could. so now I need a pc to access one on the internet at a price of course? - are we moving forward or backwards - ageing seems to be moving backwards with no assistance from modern technology - like ageing doesn't matter?? - just ambling along having a few isolated thoughts?

...................then I started using the net to trace an old address way back in my UK days -no -no luck - got plenty of on web advice but no result. Finally in frustration went to my old metallic filing cabinet (yes still have one but not used much] and found a folder with all my school reports and other achievements and there was the address I reqd - hard copy in a hard cabinet to my hard delight!

nb: and I am being serious now and unbiased but the house I lived in as a teenager and street and area was in a bloody mess - all us newcomers took pride in our new homes - if this is the latest look - ya can keep it?? love my country of birth but not wot you've done with parts of it?

Today is (((grandson))) day. Will be picked up around 11am. I pick him up from school at 2:30pm, then we play, hang out, till I'm picked up again at 6:45pm for the ride home. It's a long day for me, especially now with the shaking. I'll be glad to leave the apartment for the day, for a break of pace and of course I love being with grandson.

My Mom was given a used lift chair. She had it for many years, and she did like it. Eventually she retained some strength and didn't need it, that's when the motor died and it became just another chair.

The biggest draw back was how heavy the thing was! Once it was in place, it was staying there! LOL. Anyway, as long as she needed it, she was happy to have.

oooh no...that's horrible. In Spain we have the ordinary Mosquito everywhere which are bitey , , but at least once a year those nasty Tiger mozzies, turn up.... and the bite they give is really painful. One of the neighbours on my gated community, almost lost her foot, because of a bite from one of those little demons.. ..it took a year to save her foot...

We may be catching up with you. In Texas, we have electric contracts for a certain rate for a specific time period (usually 1-3 years) then we have to renew. My contract just expired and the the rate on the new 2 year contract will be 43% higher than the old contract.

we can change contracts and or suppliers at will , to find a cheaper tarrif... ,,,but it's easier to change after 12 months fixed contract...
