Another cool day in the SFBA due to strong onshore marine flows with an expected high of 73F. Tomorrow when I drive up to San Francisco for live outdoor street music, the high with breezes is only forecast to be 60F. Noon now so began mic'ing a Marie Callendar small Chicken Pot Pie for lunch. On the above map, I'm 7 miles southwest of downtown San Jose within a highly urban commercial zone.

All morning continuing to organize my new HP Windows 11 desktop, loading software, making folders, adding folders/files from other devices. Major unexpected issue I wasn't aware of was Windows 11 by default enables its Microsoft cloud OneDrive to store/back-up any folders or created files. The new File Explorer layout had me quite confused as to where folder paths actually were so had to read documentation on it's new structure. Fortunately given how my Dell laptop died, most of my important files are on an external USB Western Digital 4tb drive that was also backed up last winter on another same model WD 4tb drive. Still as low priority need to try and get the hd corrupted Dell working.

Once I figured that out, went into the OneDrive Settings and disabled the Sync function and the need to transfer anything automatically. Rather annoying but is understandable why it is set up that way since it is too complicated for non-savvy computer users to start from it being disabled. However MS should provide a warning.

Could not consistently without connection dropouts, copy files from my Android moto g smartphone directly to the desktop so ended up first copying to a USB thumb drive. Also spent much time organizing bookmarks with much more in bookmark sub menus still to structure later. Have been able to load two important graphic applications, Zerene Stacker and Kolor AutopanoGiga. I Amazon ordered a $20 external USB CDROM reader/burner due in next Tuesday that I will try and load my Adobe Photoshop CS5 and CS6 software from but expect to have license issues.

Well we had a little lightening storm after all.. didn't come to much but they say we might get some through the night..

I've just been watching an hour long show on TV that follows the police on duty in the highlands of Scotland... it's just amazing to see the difference in the policing beteen the US ( which I watch on youtube) and England ........ and Scotland... the Scottish really, really sweat the small stuff...

For example in Scotland the drink drive limit is 22mcg per 100mcg of breath ..... which in essence means if you drink 1/2 a pint of beer you're gonna be likely over the limit.....so they stopped a guy who was driving perfectly normally.. he didn't seem drunk at all.. and they gave him a roadside breath test... up pops one Microgamme over the limit..23 mcg... so they arrest him, take him out of his car drive to the station give him another test, and a blood test... OMG!..talk about overkill... he didn't have any previous, he was an American on holiday....

then in another story, they were advised about a canabis growing 'factory'' which was in a one bedroom flat in a fairly nice rural area... 10 of them, police...undercover ( no faces to be shown on camera) ..(seriously) armed with weapons..the whole 9. The did a dawn raid.. bashed the door down among a lod screaming.. got into the flat and found eveidence of a little bit of cannabis growing, and £1600 in cash.. you would have thought they'd won the lottery the way they carried on...

..and ultimately no charges were brought

Jeez... unbelievable...

Spoiler Alert: Major Whining is about to start.....

Today, it has been sunny, then rain....then sun, then rain....then sun, then rain....then sun, then rain. Shall I continue?

I'm so sick of everything continuously being wet! The grass is wet. My shoes are wet. My socks are wet. My feet are getting sore from being wet all of the time. Even when it's not raining, the humidity is enough to swim in! And don't even get me started on the mosquitoes!!!

Added to that is the fact that I can't go outside to do anything, because of how wet it all is!

I went to an early Juneteenth celebration today. My Honorary Son #3 was a guest speaker and he did a magnificent job with his magnificent voice. There was a youth Jazz band that, bless their hearts, just started playing last October. HS#3 was so impressed that he invited them to be on his radio show. After their slot was over, he got the sax player to come to our seats and play something special for us. There were other speakers and entertainment as well. The food was delicious 😛 Today was the first time I met his father and his niece, who was one of the event organizers.

Copied from iPhone.....................In a bicycle race, my 6 y/o grandson came in second.

Incredible: in 2 weeks I caught 11 squirrels with 2 traps, and my wife saw 2 more; they are cute but also destructive.
........................................................................................................................................Our garden is full of life, like here a centipede.

My hero Ross is getting old; he didn't even notice the treat I gave him....I am giving away free Eucalypus firewood I cut to neighbors.

On Father's Day, the parents of my son-in-law won't be able to join us going out for lunch because of ill health. I pray for them.

Goodness Hollydolly, you make Scotland sound like a police state. Round here, you rarely see police and I think the TV programmes 'cherry pick' and exaggerate for entertainment value. That's not to say that there is no crime, but often it involves thefts from farms etc..
During Covid, we looked upon the police in England and Wales as the heavy handed, over reacting bullies.

You can whine. 🤗 The middle of the country has been getting drenched!
Hope you get relief soon.

Good morning, no strong thunder storms yesterday, so that was a relief. I do not mind rain showers that are mild but heavy rain, no thank you.

Waiting for delivers from Walmart and Publix. They are not very big deliveries but things I need.

I feel for you with rain all the time. When we needed it, it didn't rain but now we get too much. Hopefully, it will subside for you in the rain areas.

Hope you all have a good day. :)

Been working on securely securing my new dog ! He has snapped two extended rope holding reigns. On the second one he slowly limped home and I finally secured him with the new very strong plastic roping - probably half an inch thick. He still fights against it but if he breaks into a gallop [which he often does] then he is likely to crack a neck bone and not the rope. what to do ? - unfortunately two other dogs on the private estate and more in the surrounding countryside? He was classified as an escapologist when I got him from the pound?

@smiley
Maybe a stupid question .. can he not be in the house? No enclosed fencing in yard?

Bridal shower for youngest granddaughter at my place. Girls got it all set up and didn't want me helping. After they left, I went out and adjusted the tables and chairs for a better look. None of them inherited my OCD, so they can't appreciate my suffering when I see hap hazard presentations. The weather looks good for today and the cooling trend will make for an enjoyable day.

I repeated exactly what I watched, following the police in the highlands... in fact I only posted a little tiny bit of it....

...and just so you know...you saying the English police are bullies...I have little time for the Met police but they're not going to drag someone out of a car for being 1mcg over the drink limit......and it's doubtful they'd even turn up at a cannabis house for £1600 ...of weed... much less 10 of them undercover bashing a door down like there was murders.......that's just incredible !

It's been a lovely sunny morning so far..it's almost 2pm now.... 75deg... but 68 % humidity which isn't fun.....

I had a weird dream last night, I dreamt my ex husband was very ill, and no-one would give him a hospital bed in the NHS...everyone wanted him to pay ££££'s in the private sector and he didn't have any money, and he realised I could help him, and asked me on bended to marry him...and I was repulsed and said no....

On that happy note... have a good Saturday everybody :D ☀️

I have no real plans for the day, hope to take another walk mid morning or in afternoon. I'm having dinner tonight in dining room at 6pm ,my friend Connie invited me with 3 other residents, look forward to it
Tonight, I'll be watching Game 5 of Stanley Cup Finals on TNT at 8pm, tonight's game back in Edmonton. I can't stay awake to watch the entire game, usually 1st period, part of the 2nd. It certainly has been a great series. I would like to see Oilers win it all, the last time a Canadian team won was in '92

Morning friends!!! Good to see ya !!! had a restless sleep nite
mostly cause of my breathing, also the meddlesome noises
in my head....Beautiful day out 74deg F now, heading to 90 or
so later, chance of rain, but none showing on radar...still hard
to breath at 85% humidity....gonna take it slow today, just
got a couple bills to pay online, no laundry today, and stay
inside....ah the life of a introvert hermit !!!! :p

Pictures from our garden ......... taking pictures makes me more aware of the wonders of nature.

Left: two Monarch Butterflies are fluttering around my wife's garden but never rest, so I caught one in flight and enlarged the picture.
Right: dragonflies are attracted to our pond.

IMG_9722.JPGIMG_9705.JPG

Our Magnolia Tree is in full bloom. Like Star Jasmine and orange tree flowers, they have a heavenly scent that knocks you over.

IMG_9715.JPG

Crayfish (little lobsters) are in our pond...........................................Persimmons are starting to grow; in 3 months we can eat them.
