How is your day Today? Chat about your plans and achievements 2025....

At daybreak I went down and washed clothes then took an impromptu nap since I'd been up for a few hours. I talked with my BFF for a few then headed to the supermarket. I didn't start drying the clothes until I got back and ate something. Thank goodness It was pleasant (not too hot), but windy. I didn't feel the need to do anything else after getting the laundry done and walking to and from the supermarket.

Morning folks...hope all are still here....I'm mostly here, but
mind is wandering all over the place....Will continue searching
for the soc sec card I've lost track of....while looking, I have
accumulated 2 trash bags for shredding at UPS store...hands are
hurting today, so not much typing for me.....catch u later...;):coffee:

@hawkdon, please get some help from your doctor or whoever takes care of you.

@hollydolly, take care of yourself and stay hydrated and as cool as you can. Wear some light clothing and a hat on your head outside.
thak you for the advice Rae... very kind... I'm ok honestly I lived in Spain for 10 years ..so I know always wear light clothing, and a hat when outdoors in the heat .. as you can see by my avatar...

It's still cool this morning, but a hot day ahead. With 92° for an expected high, there's no denying summer has arrived.

Sitting down to a late breakfast of avocado rye toast and sliced strawberries. Delicious and refreshing.

Not sure what adventures today will bring - will play it as it lays.

Hope all my SF peeps have an enjoyable Saturday, June 28th!

David, do you sometimes run into the same people that you saw at other venues?
Not so much at different venues as since retiring am more at outdoor street events versus indoor alcohol venues. But yes, a few people occasionally come up and talk to me as that in the crowd dancing guy. Most just give me space. In this smartphone era, I more often do see people just videoing me that can show others how to freestyle dance and get them on their feet in the future. A lot of Grateful Dead fans, especially their many dancers, are very aware of me because I dance differently than that dominant twirlers style. Decades ago, I noticed most people at rock concerts didn't approach top dancers of that day and just watched.

I was listening to tv and reading on-line, when I heard a loud BOOM!!! and simultaneously no electric. Turns out I was the only one on my road without power.

Bless my power company. They were here in an hour, and I was back in business. The culprit was a cow bird that hit the transformer on the pole in my front pasture. Can’t say I feel bad about a cowbird meeting its demise.

my power company was already in the area because of the thunderstorms we’ve had. There were a few smidgens of power outages here and there so they were able to get here quickly. He wanted to buy my Honda four wheeler lol lol. I said no, I would sell him the Kawasaki and he said no lol

My oldest daughter and her SO just left. They came and thoroughly cleaned our gutters! What a big job that's been a bane of our existence.
We treated them to breakfast casserole and cantalope. Then venison burgers on the grill for lunch. It is SO's birthday tomorrow so we had cake and ice cream for that.
All in all a great day.
I can't wait for a rainstorm so I don't see water pouring over the eaves! 👏

Left: tree guys are removing branches of potential fire danger to the house; I'll leave that work up to professionals.
Right: Alligator lizards are one of many species of life in our garden.

Until the tree guys are done with their work, we can't leave our house.

Monarch Butterflies are breeding in our garden.

@Imogene I am wondering what the TV in Tennessee is telling you, but we have currently no winds in our area (Inland Empire.)
Perhaps they talked about the high desert (3,000 to 4,000 feet) where strong winds are not unusual. Typically in November we
have the Santa Ana Winds coming down the mountains that are awful.

I've been pretty good about ignoring the bad things when I go to bed, but last night I was very stressed about how many people these days are openly vicious and celebrate other people being hurt or losing their rights. So I didn't get to sleep until 5 AM, and even then it was because I got back up and had a bowl of comfort carbs (rice), took an ibuprofen and even a xanax.

I just don't know how to deal with lynch-mob-personality people, it is very frightening.

But aside from that, I've been struggling, mostly successfully, to adjust to a complete overhaul of the local bus system. They are removing lots of bus routes and bus stops and I'm not a fan. I don't see any benefit to eliminating rarely used bus stops because the bus only stops for them in those rare cases, so it is not true that eliminating them speeds up the bus (in my opinion).

My local bus stop is reducing to only one (instead of two) bus routes and there'll be a 10 minute longer wait on weekdays (except rush hour but I'm too old to care about those hours), but a 10 minute shorter wait on weekends (the only good thing in the new system). Then the route outside the community on the main street that is the only one available when I get home at midnight from a trip is being eliminated entirely. But it looks like they plan to beef up the timetable of the local bus to cover late at night.

Frustratingly a neighborhood 15 miles south of me that already has a 90% score for walk-ability is getting free constant bus service every 7 minutes! Bah!

I did some financial stuff early this morning and napped until my BFF called. After our phone call, I straightened up a bit and put away the rest of the laundry. I also reorganized my T shirt drawer. Later afternoon I started getting myself ready to go to Honorary Son #3's for his radio broadcast; he likes for me to be there, even when I'm not a guest. Tonight we took an impromptu ride to a park with a water feature during which we had a nice conversation and discussed the concept for next week's show.

I started loading the dishwasher when I got back but wound up doing an unplanned manual cleaning of the inside. My son ran a cycle with vinegar the other day, but there was still residue in there. I decided to post here before midnight. :) Now I'm going to have some of that apple caramel ice cream my son brought home and watch something on T.V.

I hope everyone has or is having a restful night's sleep.

If I read this last night I'd be dreaming of caramel apple ice cream. 🍦

Chihuahua! Lately sleep has been nothing more than two-hour naps in between half-hour periods of wakefulness. Tonight I'm gonna throw caution to the winds and take benadryl. That stuff isn't recommended for old folks because of the diphenhydramine, which has been shown to contribute to dementia. I'm already daffy enough without help, but I really need a full night's sleep.

We missed out on the Daily Deluge yesterday. Apparently, it all went south of us to the airport where there were already hundreds of delays and cancellations because of Friday night's deluge and hail storm.

@hawkdon I hope today is a better day for you🤗.
