How is your day Today? Chat about your plans and achievements 2025....

The weather forecast here is just about good enough to tell you what day it is. For ages now, the forecast has predicted that it will be better TOMORROW, and of course, tomorrow never comes. Today it looks like it will be overcast for the most part and several degrees cooler than forecast a couple of days ago.

If it stays dry, that will be something.

Good morning friends@@@ A bright sunshiney day to start,
temp is 61f yes 61f...had a decent nite sleep, and while not
"raring" to go I am ready....cleaning lady is here later, also got
her to take me to bank today to get some cash....got aches
and pains but so what....my low back is some better so I
will "baby" it today LOL...got to order some groceries this
afternoon, need better food than I've been getting, but hate
to cook sooooo.....anyhow have a great day all, love you all....:coffee::D

Good morning all.... Sunny here today but cool , only 62 deg ...temps to reach 72 later...

The district nurse has just been..checked and dressed my injuries, she's astonished how much I've improved. She's the third to say how good my skin is and my body overall for healing itself so well and so soon. She hadn't been here before, so she asked how the injuries came to be, and was absolutely amazed that it all happened just 6 weeks ago.. given that I've healed so fast..outwardly anyway...

My Eastern European neighbours have returned from their month long holiday.. bang goes my peace in the garden... their youngest child .. 3 years old.. is an incessant screamer... .. she's not being abused..just the opposite, but the screamig begins in the morning and apart from short breaks continues throughout the day

I'm hoping I can go out and get some groceries today... I'll see how I feel in a little while...

Have a Good day Peeps of SF>..

I've just got back.. and noticed the post I wrote at 9.30 this morning above.. I hadn't clicked send...so it looks like I'm posting straight after one another.

It's just after 2pm now... sunnier and warmer than it was earlier...

I've been to the supermarket...... it was heaving, I don't know why.. and the noise in there was something to be heard.. it was just so noisy, there was cages being rattled, the piped music was loud so no-one could her anyone asking for anything... I even commented to the cashier and she agreed..

..and I have a bee in my bonnet..what is wrong with people that they can't follow simple instruction in the car park?

In the store I was just at .. the lanes are one way.. so the first lane is left only, the next lane right only etc...

I was driving up one lane to get a space and 3 cars came down twards me ..IOW they'd turned left into a right lane only..., and there's no space for anyone to get past without possibly scratching another vehicle... and they didn't care..... but it means when you're pulling out of a space instead of looking just the one way for cars approaching, you literally have to have eyes in the back of your head as well sideways on a one way road... 😖

Anyway this was the fields on the way home...t'day..

My day is lazy so far today. Have to work tomorrow. As far as achievements in 2025, I purchased a house, got married and reentered the workforce. So its been a productive year for me. Still doing lots of house repairs and stuff in this year, but will hopefully lessen in 2026.

Question.. for you folks..

Do you mind if a casual visitor, to your home comments on your house or items within your house?

I don't know why it irritates me but it does. Having had these District nurses visiting here a couple of timess a week since the accident 6 weeks ago.. I've never seen the same one twice... . Some have been surly some have been friendly.. however a few have made comments about my house.. all have been complementary... but... I cannot stand it when someone I don't know makes comments about individual items...

For example..One said..''oooh you collect pots.. ( vases).. I don't collect them.. I just have a few designer vases in my livingroom....''how beautiful they are , she said.. and went round the livingroom looking for more to spot...and to pick up...

Then another..DN.. ''ooh you have a beautiful home''.. we;ll that I didn't mind really, ..... it's the individual comments... and today was no different.. The nurse on her way out of the livingroom, picked up a framed photo of me from some shelves by the door .. and made some albeit nice comments about it.. but it irritated me , altho' I didn't show it

I just thought, why are you picking up something that doesn't belong to you.. you're a stranger in my home.... I didn't give you permission to pick that up...

I know it probably sounds silly and petty, but it just irritates me people picking up my things without permission

that certainly has been a busy first half of the year for you...

As you're new you won't know this.. so apologies to everyone here who knows the story already.... but it's been a very hectic first half for me too.. I got divorced in June ... 6 weeks later someone crashed into me on the motorway in July, spun my car on its roof 3 times.. wrote my car off.. I was Blued and Two-ed to the Emergency room... ... and thirdly I bought a new car and took delivery of it on the 1st of August

@hollydolly, did you drive your car today? People come in my house and comment on certain things too. My husband has a display of his days in the Navy with medals and citation from President Nixon and commanders in his unit. That is okay but they tend to stay and stare and then husband gets into a discussion with them but it takes up our time before they leave. My husband is a Vietnam Veteran.

Another is about some of the items in the living room. That is nice, too but I always seem to have to answer about them.

Anyway, good news about your recovery. 🤗

Good morning to all. I had a delivery from Walmart but it took longer than it said online. The driver was older but really nice when he did arrive.

Nice weather this morning but storms just come in with no predictions. Even if predicted they usually are wrong.

I hope all are well today and you enjoy the day. :)

From my own experience, @hollydolly, I imagine these nurses go into some peoples homes that are, uh, *not* as clean and aesthetically pleasing as yours… it’s a bright spot in their day. I’m sure general compliments are made with the kindest of intentions

Now as to picking up individual items without receiving permission, yeah, that would get under my skin too.

that's a good point CS.. as a nurse you would be very aware of that.. it's not something that even crossed my mind...tbh ..I don't mind the general comments about ''beautiful home '' etc.. it's the picking up of stuff that grates on my nerves..lol

I did Rae..I drove today...I can't tell you how jittery I was...

I have driven for decades.. never had an accident... and I am normally a very confident driver.. but today..I was on edge..very much...not helped of course by being in a new and unfamiliar car which is smaller than my last car as well.. so I'm sitting quite low to the ground compared to my Ford. but honestly.. my nerves were shot, imagining everything was going to hit me as I drove over several roundabouts going and coming home again.. because it was on a roundabout that the idiot woman in the wrong lane .. hit me hard from behind...

It depends on how I "read" them. Sometimes people are trying to make light conversation and this offers them a way to do so. I think I would be able to tell if someone was just making a generally polite comment, or if it was something else. It might bother me more if someone appeared to looking about and taking mental notes of items in my house, while remaining silent. A plumber's helper did that once, and it made me very uncomfortable.

The nurse on her way out of the livingroom, picked up a framed photo of me from some shelves by the door .. and made some albeit nice comments about it.. but it irritated me , altho' I didn't show it
I wouldn't like anyone picking up anything in my home, unless I knew them quite well - then they might pick up a picture to show it to me if they had a question about it. Otherwise no. I don't pick up things in houses I visit.

@hollydolly about driving your car. I can see why you were nervous and somewhat scared. I had an automobile accident years ago and I did not want to drive. It took a couple years and finally I only drove in neighborhood streets. Then I moved onto regular streets.

I now drive here in Florida but I do not drive on the freeways. I get honked at if I take too long to turn a corner as fast as someone behind me wants.

I think after some more time, you will get your confidence back but good that you did go out today as a first time. Lots of love to you.

It doesn't bother me when strangers compliment my home, but it would strike me as odd for if someone handled my possessions. Most people are taught as children to not touch things that don't belong to them. (My mother used to say, "Ask yourself, 'Is it mine?' If the answer is No, then don't touch it.")

Almost every Halloween, one child or another will look into the interior of our home and see our foyer, atrium and living room. They'll gasp, "I love your house." or wistfully say, "I wish I lived here."

Don't get me wrong, my home is uncluttered and nice, but it isn't particularly grand, noteworthy or unusual for the neighborhood, so those comments make me worry these children live in hoarding situations, cars, or who-know-where.

On Oct. 31st, most 7 year olds focus on their costumes and Halloween candy, not the home of the person adding to their booty.

@hollydolly drivers get more asinine by the day. I have more scratches on my Saturn from WalMRt and Kroger than I keep up with.

On a much brighter note, ILOVELOVELOVE your field and Farm photos. Oh my goodness, they almost make me want to move to where you live, but I would have to become an ex Pat and I don’t want to do that.😇❤️😇❤️

Oopsie, forgot to answer your other question. I would take offense to people picking up my things and handling them. Nobody has ever done that when they have come into my house unless they’re under 12 years old. I don’t take offense to people complementing me on whatever I have, which doesn’t happen too often unless it’s a horse person coming into my house lol lol.

Took the car in for a battery replacement. Whatever happened to the $100 batteries. By the time I left there, I felt like I had just bought a huge chunk of their business. Didn’t realize my little Kia took a special battery.
Don't scare me now Pappy.... is my new car the equivelent of an HP printer?...more expenisve to buy the ink than the machine
