The roller rink that we usually go to, is closed for 5 weeks....remodeling and vacation time.

We are going skating in at the other rink, this afternoon. It's smaller and less cared for, but it's better than not skating at all. The last time I was there, they had not swept the floor and I very gracefully fell......and cracked several ribs!!!!! 🙄

I'm all healed up now, so I guess it's time to try again!

Well daughter has gone home, it's 71.5pm she brought me a new emergency breakdown kit for the the new car... ...and this little surprise....

He's for her not for me.. but he's so cute ..a tiny furball 100 % Poodle...8 weeks old.... he was so tired when I took that photo, because he'd just been brought from the breeders house , 2 hours away. then he'd discovered my garden and ran around sniffing everything.. and trying to make his 15 year old new sister play with him.... sooo cute..🥰.

She hasn't made her mind up his name yet..

Nothing better than a precious wee pup to lift the spirits @hollydolly .. and, of course, seeing your daughter.

I hope your unbandaged hand comes along well, without any issues 🤗

thanks Pinks... he is soo cute weighs just 2 kilos...

yes my hand is very much on my ''be careful' list now it's uncovered.....it's still sore and very swollen but the nurse felt it's time to let the air do it's stuff to heal.. The stiches have almost disapeared on my palm.. no-one can believe I had 27 stitches, it seems my skin is a great self healer.. apparently

Tonight my neighbours who just arrived back from their month long trip to Romania.. are having a family gathering, and they brought around some supper for me... the wife and husband both came , and 2 of the children... it was like the 3 wise men bearing gifts..only there was 4 of them lol... anyway forgive the dinner looking dried up..it was my fault because I stayed chatting with the wife for about 20 minutes after she brought the food.. and so it got stone cold... no matter, I still ate some

The dessert is chocolate filled pancakes

Up bright and early, the old MG has had a wash and polish ready to take us to church later on.

new queen1.jpgnew queen2.jpg

Later the MG will take us somewhere to dine in style. Sunday lunch, roast beef and all the trimmings.

The afternoon will be near the river Stour among other vintage cars, where we will indulge in afternoon tea.

Later still we are off to a concert at The Regent Centre with Swing Unlimited Big Band who will entertain us with theme music from classic movies. They call their concert: "A Night At The Movies."

Our old MG has another venue to attend tomorrow, watch this space.

Sunday again, but just another day here.
Had a nice walk on the beach yesterday. Some good waves, so there were a few surfers out enjoying the sea. Weather is warmer today and not so much wind. We're catching up with some clothes washing and then I'm planning to cut the grass before it gets too long. I could do with a bigger grass box on the mower as I'm having to empty it frequently. While I'm doing that, our daughter will be in her white overalls , painting the summerhouse with a fresh coat of preservative. Not sure what Mrs. L will be doing.

I made a pork and chicken terrine for lunch and I'm cooking venison bourguignon for dinner this evening.

Afternoon peeps of SF......

Another glorious Sunny day with temps of 73......... I feel like a 'shut in' because I can't really go out and about yet as I would normally on a Sunny weekend .. ...however I'm fortunate that I can just take a walk over to the woods and the lakes just a few minutes away if I want to....

Have a super Sunday everyone... 🌺🌼

How cute is this photo DD just sent of new puppy being weighed by DD.... 🥰 🥰 ?..it's grams on the scale, in pounds that's just under 4 pounds

lenny-being-weighed.jpg

he's already in one day learned where he's got to pee in DD garden... She laid a piece of imitation turf down and he's already peed there 3 times.. just 8 weeks old..but that's the intelligence of the Poodle breed..

Bit of alone time this morning.
Hubby has taken our small safe to get 'broken into".

I was in the middle of trying to use up some of the stale donuts he bought.
Making a bread pudding with fresh peaches ,, the do-nuts in hunks & some cookie crumbs for topping.

While that is baking will check the freezer for some meat for dinner.

Sunday blessings to all.

@hollydolly, your DD's pup is darling! How nice to have a new fur baby in your family. How big do you expect he'll get?
he will get to just a little taller than Pixie the chihuahuha...he's toy poodle....

This is stan who we lost on the same day as digger... Both the dogs in this picture are labradoodles.. but different types.. stanley was the product of a lab and pure bred poodle.. but little pup who is 100% poodle will not get as tall as stan who was 10 inches high... nor will he be as heavy... stan was about 12 pounds...

I forgot to say it's the last bank holiday weekend of the year...... this is the BIG one of the year.. people all try to get away on this August weekend.. before the schools start back in September.

Traditionally I never went away anywhere on this Bank holiday because the roads are just horrible with traffic.. and so I would always leave it until the children go back to school.

Currently of course I am not ready to drive any long distance anyway.. but I was thinking the other day that I might just take a train up to the East coast even just for an overnight stay.. perhaps sometime in September

As I type, enjoying an early lunch, mic'd a M Calendar, Sweet & Sour Rice Chicken frozen dinner. My trip yesterday up to San Francisco spending $20 in gasoline, turned out to be rather sleepy, mediocre. Oh well, in balance Wednesday and Friday were both more lively and fun than expected.

Today Sunday, an Allman Brothers tribute band plays in a grassy park this late afternoon a short few miles away. Will then enjoy a couple quiet days at home, and then late Wednesday, a favorite rock/pop cover band plays at a free outdoor venue. Then after a couple more quiet days this coming holiday weekend has the first major fall art/wine/food street fair with some excellent rock music.
