DIL bought me a "new" used iPhone and is coming over soon to make the switch. Phone not get good recommendations. Beggars can't be choosers. I couldn't afford an iPhone at all without their help. I need Help. I have them to Help Me. I'm blessed and, well, that's that. Didn't plan on leaving work at 50. Illness. Managed my inheritance poorly as a result.

Beggars can't be choosers. As little kids, we used to taunt each other by saying this.

I'm so dissatisfied with my tortured existence.
Thatโ€™s very nice of her.

Keep reminding yourself how lucky you are to have great family reasonably close by.

Go outside and sit in the sunshine. It always makes you feel better.

Well, the camera stuff is not going smoothly, I'm having probs
trying to load the sd card images onto my laptop, which has
NO sd card slot!!?? So maybe to morrow....I've seen images and
only shows a couple squirrels nosing around the pumpkin, no
actual eating or anything.....so maybe later, sorry....

There is good new and bad news.

Bad news is that I may have passed the dementia test with 100% correct, but I don't think the result was meaningful.

Good news is I found the sheaf of lab requisitions I was looking for. They were in the stack of paperwork I had put on the floor after carefully ascertaining the lab paperwork was not among them.

My excuse is that the headline on the papers was XXXX Hospital System, not the doctor or practice names. Even I have realized that doctors nowadays, who not very long ago owned their practices or practice groups, and now seem to be owned by hospital systems. I should have thought of that.

But I didn't, and all is well.

ETA: Another radical idea! I could actually move the fridge and see what treasures Maggiecat has batted under it.
I'm sure you know this trick, but I'll tell you anyway out of the kindness of my heart.

If you spray something like Windex or 409 cleaner in front of your fridge and a little bit under it, it is a piece of cake (the kind you can't eat) to move it. The fridge will glide somehow. This is science, so not sure how, but it is not magic like I might have thought!

I don't know if water works. My sister showed me this and I did notice that it would be easier to use water, but she didn't. So I don't.

@hawkdon, you can get a SD card/USB adapter from Amazon for around $10. That's what I use for my Browning gamer camera. Works well for me.

I was allowed to get my feet wet for the first time in over two weeks. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience of taking a shower, at last! I thought I forgot how!

Nurse coming this morning to change dressing on both feet.

Also stripped stinky bed and will be putting on clean sheets!

Hope this new cleanliness means something other than feeling good, hope it's new beginning. I think I'm starting to feel left foot again. Not positive, being cautious.

Morning all, my early walk at 6:50 temp was 67 as I walked around the building once as I watched the sun rise
This morning at 9:30 taking Gates van to my dentist appt- cleaning, plan to walk home since its another beautiful, warm sunny day temps will be in low 80's
The rest of my day read NYT, take afternoon stroll before dinner. I've called in my dinner reservation for 5:30,invited friends, Don&partner Dave, his brother, Bob&Lynn{ they live in South Carolina} been here since Thurs, leave tomorrow, look forward to seeing them again
Enjoy your day everyone

The elk in the neighborhood must be in full rut. The bulls are bugling non-stop in the dark, wish I could see them, they're in my side yard!

We're off to Jellystone today, a trip I've been anticipating for a year so needless to say up way to early. It's about 270 miles to W Yellowstone and another 90 min drive past that to our campground. The Wx is mostly predicted to be sunny and mild(for Yellowstone) w just a couple days of rain/snow predicted. Those days coincide w my wife's 65th birthday so a night off in a motel seems like a smart move since I'm already pushing her to edge of her camping limits.

The typical day starts w coffee and a bowl of oatmeal. We drive a mile or so to known wolf watching spots, view wolves and all the other animals and birds for a couple hours. We have a small spotting scope and some good binos. There are a few people that dedicate their lives to wolf watching and their are very willing and happy to show others their hobby. Perhaps we'll be lucky enough to renew some acquaintances from last year.

Back to camp for brunch, a bit of rest, my wife knits or reads or we can go for a hikes on several trails that originate in the campground. I prefer hiking mid-day to reduce the chances of running into a bear. Then as most Yellowstone visitors are returning from their day driving around we again make our way out to view animals in the Lamar Valley as wildlife activity builds towards sundown. We might be searching for another pack of wolves to view or perhaps see some bears. In the past years we have found spots that we can view mtn goats, and bighorn sheep so there's plenty to keep us busy.

Food is a big part of the experience for me as the family cook and I know my wife is happier eating well. Putting out good food under less than ideal conditions is a challenging, but fun!

Here we are again! It's Monday except really not because when you're retired, every day is Saturday.

One more kitchen cabinet is gonna get purged/cleaned this morning. Not making a plan beyond that because I'd probably be biting off more than I can chew again.

My turn to make supper. It's gonna be stuffed bell peppers. I might get a wild hair and make something for dessert, too. It remains to be seen.

I'm enjoying my "pumpkin coffee" right now, and am planning on starting breakfast in a few minutes.

Goober has been here for some major chin scratches and ear rubs, and has moved on. He will probably go for a walk with me, later.

We might go to the gym tomorrow, and avoid tomorrow's possible rain.

@hollydolly I've been meaning to clarify a mistake that I made a while back, about my friend who gets migraines and has a service dog. I didn't give you all of the info, since I had forgotten part of it, myself!

Anyway, she doesn't exactly have the service dog because of her migraines. She does have severe migraines, sometimes brought on by weather changes. They are so bad that they cause seizures....that's why she has a service dog!

Sorry for the omitting that detail!

It's a beautiful day , 67 f.. ๐ŸŒž๐ŸŒž

I have spent the morning on the phone, and filling out forms and uploading photos for the Insurance company as part of my claim for the accident..

They sent me an email saying they'd received my medical report from the investigators saying that I now suffer from scarring and severe brusing... but they needed photos..

Well excuse me, if they can't believe their own medical Investigators... so I had to spend time uploading and sending photos of the injuries and scarring etc...

Then my totally unreliable gardener rang and said he wasn't well and can he cancel until next week...

I've got more expenses forms to fill in today by hard copy which have to be sent by post no later than tomorrow

It's just never ending. When you take out Fully comprehensive insurance, you never expect that you will have to do most of the work if you make a claim...and it's especially more difficult when you're already suffering from injuries..

Okay, y'all. Don't be hating, but I got that last cabinet sorted and cleaned the fridge besides. Cleaned. The. Fridge! And found a better way to arrange the shelves to make more room for tall stuff.

I hope I don't break my arm patting myself on the back, but the kitchen cabinets are now all clean and organized. On the inside.

While I was at it, had a snack of a nectarine and some raspberries so that I didn't have to put them back in the fridge.

ETA: OMG! remember when I was the Biscuit Bitch at a local fast food place? We weren't allowed to call the police...had to be done by a manager after a consultation with the main office. Why? "Bad optics" to have them and/or an ambulance show up in the parking lot so someone in "authority" had to make a determination about whether it was necessary to call.

Yesterday at a location just a couple of miles away from the one where I worked there was an "altercation" between two employees. One called her DH, and he showed up with a gun. And shot the other employee...all while it was being decided at the main office whether or not it was okay to call 911.

The DH is in jail, one employee refused medical treatment for a grazing wound and the other went to the ER, was treated and released.

A wild guess would be that both employees got fired. Ya think?

And that's why DD flat refused to let me go back to work there๐Ÿ‘€

Finally got the new car! Very happy with it. Brum brum. (Blurred the reg number as it upsets some folk to see it for some reason!)

Been to the gym, paid bills, groceries and Walmart runโ€ฆ. Put together a big pot of veggie soup โ€” although official โ€˜soup weatherโ€™ keeps playing peek-a-boo with us ๐Ÿ™„

@Georgiagranny, Iโ€™m glad you werenโ€™t at that fast food place when the shooting started. Itโ€™s ridiculous how an altercation going from misunderstanding to shooting a gun to settle things!
