Many of the pain patches use lidocaine. I have found that it causes me to have heart disrhythmias. I now use the capsaicin patches, which actually are derived from peppers. Salonpas makes one and there is a WalMart brand, too, which costs about 95 cents each.
I find the exact opposite tbh..I find if I use anything based Capsaicin, I get an allergic reaction.....unfortunately

you think you live cheek by jowl lol... try parking your RV here... where these people live in Northern England

Most of the people who live in this type of housing , all over the UK but predominately in the North.. don't even have a space to park a car... except on the very narrow streets..

Wow! I'll say that's living cheek by jowl!

For people with RVs who can't — or choose not to — park them at home, storage yards are available. Caveats are they're pricey, inconvenient, and the possibility of break-ins is increased. Rental space runs from $150-$300 per month in my area. We'd be at the high end because our RV is on the larger side.

That's why we shoehorn that puppy onto our property.

I am not ashamed to admit that I cried when I took farewell and buried my loyal buddy Ross. I adopted him in September 2017 at 1 1/2 years of age. Two previous owners had surrendered him because they couldn't handle Ross. He was "too much of a dog" I was told. But with patience, consistency, and firm leadership, Ross integrated in my pack and became my protection who would try to attack anyone who gave me a dirty look. No yoke, I had to keep him on a short metal chain around his neck tied to my belly to prevent him from doing any harm. Ross dedicated his life to me. I truly loved him. "Go, play with the angels now," while I am saying a prayer at your grave. Some pups are really special.

Because I knew that Ross had to be euthanized, I adopted Rex two weeks ago. A stray, 12 months old and 60 pounds, he immediately became attached to me (with the help of a pound of Hamburger meat,) is so loveable, and I bet he will become a carbon copy of Ross. I even expect that his weight will increase to 96 pounds like Ross. Until Rex is becoming mature, I'll have my hands full ... and I love it. I expect him to be with me to celebrate my 100th birthday. Heidi is now five, and it's iffy whether she will make it.
Right: Please chew on the leather bones I gave you and not on anything else, not even on my rubber sandals that belong to me. Don't hide them again. If you don't entertain a puppy, then it will entertain itself which means creating chaos.

Left: I am concerned about the cause of my borderline blood oxygen level. Perhaps it's poor sleep caused by snoring? My wife cannot sleep with me in the same room. So, I requested a sleep study taken at home (15 years ago, I had to do it at a supervised Kaiser facility.) OK, for snoring a gadget on my chest, for hypertension a wrist monitor, and a thimble to continuously measuring my blood oxygen while sleeping. In two weeks I'll get the results.
Right: My neighbor called me that a branch falling from my Eucalyptus tree almost killed him while practicing golf. OK, my son-in-law and I will come over and clean it up. It's not the first time. Eucalyptus trees are brittle.

yep it;s the same here... for the majority of people living in the uk, there's no space by their house to park a camper , caravan or RV..so they have to pay to park them elsewhere and it's not cheap

@packleader So sorry to hear about your furpal:(.

We went to Goodwill, and I found a brand new H&M lined corduroy jacket for "my" homeless guy for $8.74! It still had the store tags on it. Pockets on the outside, of course, but also pockets in the lining. At the dollar store I found a watch cap, gloves and thermal sox and also got him two single-serve packages of tuna & crackers. He took one look at the jacket and said "Yessss!" All of that for just under $15.

Maybe because I did a good deed for the day, I found another pair of brand new jeans for me with the store tag still attached. Parted with the grand sum of $7.24 for them. They fit perfectly. This is the second time in about a month that I've found new jeans for me at Goodwill.

The garden has been watered. It might be that I'll go out later this afternoon to pull up the cannas, do a little weeding and plant the allium bulbs. Or not... There's always tomorrow, right?

Oh...I forgot that I'm also gonna finish digging up the cannas. They're going to get thrown down into the wooded side yard to do what they will to naturalize there because I'm tired of fighting the leaf rollers and other pests. The only thing that works to keep the pests away from them is Sevin, and I don't like using it because it'll kill the butterflies and hummingbirds.

Then I'm gonna plant allium bulbs.

Maybe some weeds will get pulled. Can anybody tell me why, when we're in drought mode here, the weeds are still prolific while the lawn is brown and crunchy?
This year, in spring, every time I saw a rolled up Cannes leaf with brown on it, I cut it off down to the next leaf and threw it in the burn pile. After a while I stopped seeing them. I also deadheaded them which I never had done and they looked good this year.

Good morning folks!! Here I am again amazing really, I made
thru another nite, pain in knee this morning is greatly reduced....
Sent my cleaner lady to store to buy those pain patches and
within 45 mins of putting one on that right knee, I could feel
the pain had been reduced!!!! On the other hand, I burned/melted a egg turner thingy onto to the electric coil
of my stove!!! dang it, gonna have to buy new coil I presume...
I finished the apple pie yesterday, yep ate the whole d888mn
thing in about 24 hours, well hay, its apples, thats a fruit and
fruit is good for you right??:devilish::p:coffee:
Get a silicone or metal spatula when you replace it. 🙂

Oh, so sorry about Ross packleader. You gave him a good life.

I went to the library this AM and took a turn around the neighborhood in which it's situated, hoping for some pretty fall pics. Breeze was very blustery and cool (a lovely change); skies overcast but no rain right now. Anyhoo, unfortunately it's the time of year between seasons when trees/bushes are just kind of drab and bedraggled... and it's been so dry there's very little fall color so far. So no pics today but I will keep looking.

Back home from the grocery store and preparing to make Indian-inspired butternut squash/cauliflower/potato soup for supper. Once that's simmering, it's good weather to have a cup of my White Russian coffee and settle in with a good book.

Later this afternoon, I'll visit Ed and we'll continue reading "Around the World in 80 Days." I'd seen the movie but never read the book. I wonder if Agatha Christie took inspiration for Poirot from Philias Fogg? 🧐🧐

@hearlady I've tried cutting off the affected leaves, tried everdamnthang! Nothing works except Sevin, and I don't wanna use it, so the cannas go. In any case, I wasn't able to get out there today because the pollen count is so high that my nose won't quit running long enough to get anything done. I'll try again tomorrow, although the weathernerds say pollen will be high for the next three days. Drat. Can we go back to the days when the pollen here didn't bother me?

@CinnamonSugar Dry here, too. Beyond dry. We're in drought territory, and there's no measurable rain in sight for at least a week.

Since I couldn't play in the garden today, I mixed up the dough for scones that we're having in the morning. It's, as they say, *resting comfortably* in the fridge.

Welp it is 75F here now, sunny and breezy...got a grocery order
coming later today...and ordered a replacement electric stove
coil thru amazon for monday delivery....so all set I think....

It took about 45 minutes of back-and-forthing to get it in. When I say we have about 8" of wiggle room between the camper slide's canopy roll and the house's rain gutters and eaves, I'm not whistling Dixie. (We had the eaves cut back to the bare minimum when we bought the RV.)

Our street is relatively narrow, so no chance of a straight shot in.

I hate when we have back-in sites, @Pappy. Watching us is very entertaining for those around us though. If it gets too difficult I ask someone for help and am astonished at how well many can guide DH perfectly into the spot.

It helps me to read of other people's tales of woe - makes me feel less like the sole incompetent at the task. Truckers have my undying admiration.

p.s. The front of the RV doesn't jut into the sidewalk - that's a photo optical illusion.

That is a fine parking job! 😊

Hope you feel ok after the flu shots , Rae..

next week I'm having the Shingles jab and the Pneumonia Jab at the same time.. has anyone ever done that..? is it wise to have them both at the same time..is there any after effects .?
Both of my doctors say to give it a few days between vaccines, rather than having 2 or more on the same day.

I've had flu and Covid vaccines on the same day, and I didn't feel great for a couple of days, whereas I otherwise have never had a problem having vaccines one at a time.

I stayed up all night listening to music. That was fun! Slept 8 hours and spent 3 hours daydreaming about past events and possibilities. I read that every time a memory is retrieved it changes a little bit. Well, I am still waiting for all my memories to change into me being a rich, beautiful and young (but adult) princess who can get a tan in a hot minute, and who has long legs and a 23" waist, and who can time travel to inhabit that world upon a whim. I'd keep my same personality to keep things interesting, and I would be sure to never actually rule over anyone. Too many opportunities for mischief.

My luck, I'd immediately be packed away in someone's attic if that happened, to save the world from me.

While daydreaming, I considered the problem that otherwise law-abiding people have if they suddenly want to procure illegal drugs (not pot) for the first time ever. Aside from the law-abiding people maybe having an "in" into the criminal world via their jobs, I can't think of any way that doesn't end up with our upstanding citizen getting killed or otherwise victimized in the process. Besides the sellers could be government agents or informants.

Since I came up with no workable ideas, I turned my thoughts to whether crime could still exist with the onslaught of continuing high-tech innovation. I thought of several innovations that could help catch and convict the crooks, but none which would defeat the crooks before they crooked.

You can see where this day (now evening) is headed. Straight towards the h*ll of unwashed dishes, uncleaned floors, unwashed laundry. I think that when my memories change into that princess, I'd better have a cleaner or three. Or just live in a rubbish heap.

I was starting to think this tbh... especially as the day after I'm due to have the vaccines, I,m due to have more physiotherapy on my arm and hand... so maybe I'll just choose one over the other...

Got my sister on her way home and I'm back home myself. Her surgery went very well. It was at a specialty hospital and they were marvelous!

The surgeon called me twice during the surgery to let me know what was happening and I heard from nurses an additional three times.

They had a nice little cafeteria...good food and it was all free.
