We went to the Greek Festival at a local Greek Orthodox church tonight. It wasn't as good as previous years. The food was good, but pretty expensive. I always liked to look through the stuff they have for sale, but it was mostly gaudy, overpriced jewelry and doo-dads this year. Nothing that you don't see at street festivals. Previously, they had clothing and other things (I bought a beautiful shawl one year). There wasn't a lot of entertainment, either.

Another thing that they did not advertise on ANY of their websites or advertisements was the fact that they were charging $10 to park. There was a children's activities area but everything had a charge....bounce house, face painting, games and the prices were a bit steep. I didn't see a lot of kids participating.

We bought some food to bring home and eat. As I said, it was very tasty and we enjoyed it.

I'm pretty happy to spend money when it's going to a good cause, but based on this experience, we'll probably skip it in the future.

In the middle of the night I did accounting for my son and myself and updated our spreadsheets. At the break of dawn, after I made my prayers, I went downstairs and did a double load of laundry for the second time this week. I don't do that often, but I needed to be somewhat caught up. I've been wanting penne pasta with broccoli and mozzarella, so I made that this afternoon and had it for lunch. I also swept and wet Swiffered the bathroom floor.

Gorgeous day yesterday! I turned off the heat, left the fan going, opened the windows and got lots of fresh air. Probably the last time for that until spring.

Thursday, I cleaned the house, so yesterday I was pretty sore, but had to get out and clean up the bird seed mess before it starts to snow tonight. Hopefully it won’t be a lot. Ended up with a pulled muscle in my back which kept me awake last night.

Quilting is the only plan today!

Have a good one!

Good morning to everyone. I am waiting for grocery delivery. I have a shopper but do not know if he will get everything I ordered. Quite a few two for one.

It is in the 60's now and 80's later. We will be going out later this morning to do some other shopping.

Have a good day and stay well, everyone. :)

Waiting on packages to come. Cpap stuff I ordered. Might work today and tomorrow if one of the gals calls in. Today depends on when my packages arrive. But tomorrow I told them I would for sure. I usually don't get my mail til late on Saturdays. *shrugs*

Otherwise I might order from Arby's & watch tv and maybe work on a game I started the other night.

Well it's dark again... it's 4.45pm.. it seems like it was just a few minutes ago when it got dark last time.. the days definitely are very short..

It was my DD's last day at her job yesterday they all went out for a final dinner together..those few that were left to finalise the closing of the company....very sad she really made some good friends there.

She starts her new job on Monday... like almost everybody she's a little apprehensive because it's a different envronment to what she's used to.. a much bigger company.. big offices lot of empoyees.. I've just sent her a New job card to make her smile... but she's fine she knows she can do the job.. they actually created the job for her because she's so good at what she does...

Saturday night.. tonight will see the most fireworks and Bonfire parties celebrating Guy Fawkes night which was actually Wednesday.....

even now at 4.45pm I can hear fireworks going off in the distance..

@Pinky ...typical... that happens to me a lot when I'm looking forward to something. I hope you feel better soon and hubby brings some nice food for you for tomorrow...

well..its 7pm and the fireworks are in full force.. Banging, crashing, verrry loud.... Bonfire parties everywhere...

Last night there was fireworks going off in my neighbourhood, and I could see them, but I couldn't hear any banging.. and I realised they were using the new silent Fireworks... which are much more animal friendly... 🐶🐮🐷🐱🦊🐻

Woke up desiring to move so I did! Sat up tall then turned to the left and sat up and sat as in a chair legs down.
Today was first workout in the gym Al really big sunny space. Still can’t stand but was able to workout arms and do leg lifts sitting. Used small one pound weight on arms. In gym one and half hours.
Also was vigorously bathed and wore real clothes for the first time in three weeks.
I feel hopeful.
Thanks you all for always being here

The early days, post-surgery, can feel overwhelming but, as you know, each passing day brings a little more strength and confidence. It sounds as if you are doing amazingly well x :)

I am so 😡! I had two people interested in the Christmas items I had posted on Marketplace. With one, we just couldn't agree on a day and time. I had an appointment with another this morning. I even PMed her to confirm the time and she said she was coming. Five minutes before she was supposed to be here, she PMed me and said she couldn't come. I PMed her and asked if she wanted to reschedule and she hasn't replied yet.

Haven't done much of anything today. Quick trip to gym and Walmart earlier this AM. Washed sheets and remade bed. Made cornbread with cornmeal I bought from the mill in N. GA (YUM).

Ed and I watched the first episode of a documentary on different family members' contribution (mainly behind the scenes) during WW II. This installment was about Helena Bonham-Carter's grandparents (both sides). Very interesting and well done.

Our town was putting on its bi-annual "Porch Fest"-- different musicians playing from some of the front porches around town. I've never been (seems heavily country genre, of which I'm not a big fan) but the weather was off-and-on rain so I hope it wasn't spoiled.
