We went to the Greek Festival at a local Greek Orthodox church tonight. It wasn't as good as previous years. The food was good, but pretty expensive. I always liked to look through the stuff they have for sale, but it was mostly gaudy, overpriced jewelry and doo-dads this year. Nothing that you don't see at street festivals. Previously, they had clothing and other things (I bought a beautiful shawl one year). There wasn't a lot of entertainment, either.
Another thing that they did not advertise on ANY of their websites or advertisements was the fact that they were charging $10 to park. There was a children's activities area but everything had a charge....bounce house, face painting, games and the prices were a bit steep. I didn't see a lot of kids participating.
We bought some food to bring home and eat. As I said, it was very tasty and we enjoyed it.
I'm pretty happy to spend money when it's going to a good cause, but based on this experience, we'll probably skip it in the future.
