Last night at dinner with the guys, Father Bob told us that our friend, Connie would be coming home today, that certainly boosted our spirits as we said a toast in her honor
On my usual early walk at 6:45, temp was 40 with light drizzle as I went around the building once before breakfast I made a 'welcome home' sign for Connie put it on her apt door
This morning going to weekly exercise class at 10-10:45,then at 12:15, invited 2 church friends, Debby&hubby Chris here to see my apt& have lunch look forward to seeing them
The rest of my day read today;s NYT, if its not raining take afternoon stroll
Everyone have a great day

I hope you enjoy that new recliner, @hawkdon!

It started raining yesterday, and continued all night. It has finally stopped, and we ended up with over an inch of rain. That was our first rain for this month! It's still foggy and gloomy outside. No sunbeams for me!!

I've spent most of my morning catering to Goober. He's been very needy, wanting chin scratches and ear rubs....along with lots of body messaging!!!! LOL

G'morning, SF peeps! Our area is just past another 36 hours of rain. No more predicted for at least the next week or so, and a good thing because my pool is verry full.

I'll check my unofficial rain gauge against the official reports, but based on what was predicted versus how full my tub is, I'm pretty sure my yard will have again received a lot more than they'll show .

Made a dozen pizza doughs yesterday — they're doing a slow rise in the garage fridge until tomorrow. I also baked some cookies yesterday and will get back to it again this morning. Just doing small batches right now in anticipation of the family crew coming tomorrow for a family only kickoff to pizza-cookie season.

We've been to Williamsburg Va. We met my DD's family and DGD's and I delivered our quilt squares to the chamber of Commerce.
That evening we visited Christmas Town at Busch Gardens. DH and I hung out with toddler GS while the others rode roller coasters and things that we would die on. We stuck to carouels, the gondola, and the Christmas train. More our speed.
Lots of walking and everyone slept like logs.
Great time great weather. Might have to make it a week next year.
I will be catching up with you all.

After my field work Wednesday, have been very busy post processing images and HTML coding them into website pages. Still a couple days worth left. A couple completed, downsized for web. This a6700 56mm lens close-up of a mushroom in decaying leaf matter, full image is 4800 by 4100 pixels. Do you see the tiny red headed fly?

Well, today was the 3rd time my son drove my car to work. I was the passenger. I swear I get terribly antsy when I'm a passenger and the driver is a learner. He waits too long to brake. Doesn't hit anything, thankfully.

I spent most of the day researching medical malpractice cases against family doctors for not preventing suicide of a patient. Just for fun. Really? I gotta get out more. It's pretty interesting, though, because I now feel like an expert on suicide. Any questions, just ask. /not really

I have a question which wasn't asked in all the research I read. It's simple, so if you all know it, tell me!

What is so awful about someone killing themselves, such that everybody wants to save them, even if they are not saving them for anything good?

IOW, they are too sick for anyone to want to live longer, not just them. Unless the person thinks they are going straight to he** where they will burn for eternity. Ya, ya... horrific illnesses don't last as long as eternity.

The reason we want to save them can't be for our own benefit and the person we want to save must be over 21. No kids! How can it be to anyone's benefit to be forced to live through a horrible illness, terminal and painful, etc.? Forced is the operative word. If they want to, fine with me.

The fly was the first thing I noticed. Spectacular work!

@WheatenLover, your post made me laugh because I drove with my own son ONE time, right after he got his license. Ugh! He had passed his road test on the first try, but after that all bets were apparently off. (Although as far as I know he has never been in any sort of collision.)

I think I lost a couple of years off my life during that one drive. He drove much too fast, and he had his hands resting on the bottom of the wheel, which makes me really nervous—I've always hated that. I spent the entire drive—which was mercifully short—barking at him to (a) slow down and (b) put his hands at 10 and 2. It was not fun.

Never again! 😂

I admire your fortitude, and that of anyone else who has had to endure a drive with someone who is learning, which I'm sure many of us have.

Morning all, when I woke up at 6:30 a bit sore in my shoulders due to yesterday's exercise class
On my early walk at 6:50 temp was 43 walked down the street to local co op bought couple items took me 25min round trip
I have no plans for today hope to get another walk in mid day this afternoon watch couple college football games, one at 3:30 USC vs Oregon on CBS, tonight 7:30 Tenn vs Fla on ABC
Everyone have a good day

Good morning, everyone. We seem to have warm weather for now. It is sunny and in the 60's but again in the 80's this afternoon.

When I was learning to drive, I made my mother so nervous as she was telling me to slow down and watch taking corners which made me over correct. Then, my brother went out with me and let me drive without comments. It was so much better having him with me.

I hope all of you enjoy your Saturday. :)

Afternoon Peeps of SF... from a very wet and rainy London region.....🌧️🌧️🌧️

It's 3pm, and its almost as dark as it will be at 4pm when the sun sets.. and despite the rain it's very cold... only 6 deg c

Thankfully I did all my outdoor stuff on Thursday & friday, because apparently this rain is on for the whole weekend...

Hope you have the best day you can folks... 🌸🙋‍♀️

Nice day in the offing today. 70° high, clear, sunny and a little breezy.

I checked my rain gauge tub. A little over 2 more inches over the last couple of days. That brings us to 8" for both storms this past week, which my pool water level proves out. The official number on the almanac for both storms? 5.04".

By observation, I long realized the official numbers were off, but didn't suspect it would be by more than 50%.

Moving on...

Today will be busy. We're hosting the family for a pizza/cookie party starting late in the afternoon, and will be attending a party next door in early afternoon to celebrate a 1 year old's birthday.

Gotta jump. Will check later when taking breaks.

I'm in a bit of a panic now... I ordered some large wardrobe units for the spare room, which currently holds other furniture and lots of boxes with stuff for sale on auction sites. i was told the delivery would be around the 2nd of december, so I thought I had time to try and get the room cleared in readiness for the delivery, .... but I just had a text from the company saying they;ll be delivering in the next 2 days...
