How is your day Today? Chat about your plans and achievements 2025....

Snow day here. I've walked the dog, read some, helped my wife finish addressing Christmas cards, shoveled off the back steps, swept off wife's car, and participated in the ongoing decluttering project. Also painted this. It's a long way to go before my first gallery show.
Looks good, @Irishdude! I can't draw a straight line with a ruler, so I'm impressed.

Going to town for a hearing test this afternoon. Daughter and SIL finally wore me down and got me to agree to replace my current 15+ year old aids with some new devices. The techs at Costco laugh at me every time I take them in for cleaning. They claim to want my old ones for museum display. I guess they aren't supposed to last so long.

No need to apologise to me for the misspelling... since the accident in july, my dominant hand was damaged, and still being treated every week in the hope that it will get back to normal ,,, and so people have been very kind on the forum and ignored my terrible typing errors... so don't you be worried about it Hawkie... just take care of yourself

I can relate. My fingers are numb and mistakes are numerous. Not to mention memory problems with spelling.

I need my head examined. I swear I do. I went into Dollar Tree to pick up some Christmas money holders and on the way out, my purse flopped open and my wallet fell out....so did about everything in my wallet.

I gathered everything up and headed out the car. As soon as I got in, I started putting everything in my wallet as the Spousal Equivalent drove off. Immediately, my charge card flipped out of my hand and went down between the seats. I couldn't reach it and said, "Please remind me to reach from behind when we get home and get that card."

We get two minutes down the road and I exclaim, "I don't have my charge card! I must have lost it back at the store!" So we turned around and I went back into the store. The minute I walked through the door, I remembered that I had dropped it between the seats.

I stomp back to the card and snarl, "I TOLD you I dropped it between the seats and you were supposed to remind me to look for it." He looked at me with that deer-in-the-headlights look. I think we BOTH need our heads examined.

Actually, he DID get a Cat Scan of his head last week (yes, there IS a brain there) and I'm getting one in January (the jury is still out on that one....).

Am I just getting old or am I losing my marbles?

With me I think it is short term memory. Very short, I mean. I'm pretty good except for the last five minutes. i get out a dish and realize I put one out a minute ago.

I didn't post about yesterday because I fell asleep and didn't wake up until after midnight. It was a somewhat busy day. I updated my budget spreadsheet, sorted laundry and started a manicure in the morning., I ran out of time so didn't put the nail hardener because I had to get ready for my podiatry appointment. Took a Lyft there but walked back so I could stop at the supermarket which is on the way home. We shopped for groceries three days in a row. Last night I rotated my coats. My son got my winter coats out of the back of studio room closet, which is blocked by his stuff and put my spring coats in.

I went down to the laundry room around 4:45 a.m. I finished putting away the laundry from last week and most of what I laundered today.
I still have to load and run the dishwasher and clean up the kitchen. Also intend to refill my pill cases and make brownies using Duncan Hines brownie mix. Perhaps after stating my intentions here, I will actually get those things done.

Have spent a few days this last week working on updates to two massive Excel files I use to document my body of photography APS-c digital camera work that began in 2014. Much run from Command Prompt dot bat batch files then parsed with Excel commands. Added about 500 post processed images of those taken in last 3 years to 3000 others on Excel rows, with each image having as much as 30 columns of information, with most from exif header information. When I begin publically exhibiting images, the files will allow rapid access to information about any specific image. So lots of mental work.

Thursday evening was out freestyle dancing at an unfamiliar nightclub with a live rock cover band, where the venue bar folks seemed really happy to see someone was doing more than just watching. Tomorrow, Saturday, more of the same with 1pm afternoon live music.

Weirdly, for the last 3 hours had something wrong with my Google accounts that prevented using my YouTube channel both on my desktop and smartphone and had removed ALL the moto g Chrome smartphone bookmarks. Didn't understand how my Google account has anything to do with bookmarks on the browsers but apparently they are not stored locally on my smartphone but rather with Google? That is rather scary because a smartphone without bookmarks is rather limited. Note, one cannot simply logout of Google gmail on a smartphone without removing the whole Google account.

But now at 7pm, seems back to normal.

Google has been doing some very weird things. A good friend of mine had something strange happen with her Gmail and so have I. But her issue was different from mine. I noticed lately when someone sends me a message and I reply, I can no longer see the message they sent. Also check this out...I went to send an email a couple of weeks ago and saw this.

I took a picture of it because I said nobody would believe me. About 10 minutes later it changed back to Compose.

I got a full night , plus... of sleep. Which I know I needed.
Dad came home from the hospital yesterday, early afternoon. List of chores wore me out, but it was good things that needed done. The steps leading to the porch were hard packed with ice, mom wanted them down to the wood for when he came home- and for the man bringing his oxygen set-up. I was using the small hammer mom gave me to do the job, was not getting anywhere fast. I came in the house for a break, a hour and a half which seemed like fifteen minutes, I hung out with my daughter while I recuperated.

I had said what a chore it was chopping ice, she made a crack about our neighbors where we used to live, pouring water on their frozen steps, only to be frozen back lol... and I shocked her by saying "that's a he'll of a good idea!", she looked at me like I was an idiot, but I went and got a bucket of hot water from the tub, took it out and poured it on the steps/porch. I did this 6 or 7 times, finished scraping any stubborn ice off and took a bunch of old towels (the important part of this!) and dried all the water off.

Now I need to wash them. Good timing, just as I finished, the Oxygen delivery was there! And a half hour later, Mom and Dad came home, they got the info on using the rig and he left. So we all sat down and napped a while, I got up and went to my bed to the laptop and realized it was sleepy time. And I slept until an hour ago, much needed. Spooky was glad to see me... Dad is gonna be on the O2 full time. His cousin was on O2 for 6 to 10 years so he doesn't feel so bad about it as his previous opinion (if I get on that, I might as well just go...) I hated that outlook.

So for now things are settled down around here!

Good morning Peeps of SF...

It's a kind of overcast this morning and everything is Sodden...after the Torrential rain last night.. it was so heavy.. that my Amazon delivery driver had to turn back 4 stops before he got to me... and the wardrobes weren't delivered until really late because they were coming down from Birmingham, and the roads were flooded... so it took them 5 hours to get here when it would normally take 2 and a 1/2 hours....

I did tell them not to risk life and limb, and to deliver another day but they were determined to get here.. such wondetful customer service but I was really concerned about them having to drive all that way here and then drive back ..in the dark and torrential rain.
They brought the wardrobes upstairs and put them in place for me.. and I tried to tip them, and they refused to take it saying that because they were late it was their pleasure to do it... just incredible customer service.. privately owned business.. I wouldn't have got the same service from a multi-national...
I do hope they got home safely !

However I find myself now with a big job transferring stuff into the new wardrobes ... it still looks like I'm going to have to sell a lot of clothing..and a chest of drawers as well, because now I simply don't have the space for the drawers.. sadly...

have the best Saturday you can folks... :D🍂🌺🎄

Good customer service seems to be the exception now, not the norm. Glad you had a good experience!

It's the same here..good customer service is rare these days.. and I'm dealing with people all the time who are just so uninterested in giving a postiive experience .. and so this yesterday was like stepping back 30 years...

In Spain it's altogether different... If you buy curtains or blinds , they will come to your house and hang them for you... if you buy atrwork they will hang it for you...

here..?.. no.. they make you fell like they're doing you a favour even selling it to you.... so this is why this was so surprising with the wardrobes...

When my father was on O, we lengthened the hose supplying the O so the noisy O generator was removed from his bedroom. Hopefully mom doesn't over extended herself caring for your father.

Good work so far, and I hope he continues to get well.

Morning all, on my early walk at 6:50 it was 30, cloudy a bit breezy so I didn't; go far, just to the signal light at the end of driveway. I crossed the street went halfway down and turned around came back
I'm a tiny bit sore from yesterday's exercise class in my shoulders, some weeks its like that
I have no plans today, ck out what college football games I can watch this afternoon, see what the dinner menu offering is today
Everybody have a good day

Good morning everyone, it is cloudy and 62 degrees. It will be 80 degrees this afternoon.

I am waiting for grocery delivery and everything I ordered was found. I like the delivery man as he is a good shopper.

I hope you all have a good day. :)

It's clean out the fridge and freezer Saturday. Made hodgepodge stew: hamburger, egg noodles, diced tomatoes and mixed vegetables (onion & red and green peppers) plus my own secret seasonings.
