@MarkD Your beloved Freesia flowers (left picture) are indeed wonderful, but have you ever smelled Orange Tree blossoms (right picture,) Star Jasmine, or Magnolia Tree flowers? Their scent also knocks you over. The Orange Tree picture shows tiny oranges growing at the base of the flower.

At age 90, I shouldn’t try to kill myself anymore but leave more difficult jobs to my son-in-law. Cutting a fallen tree with an 18” battery operated chain saw, I slipped and hurt myself. The shiny reflection in the last picture is Neosporin antibiotic I just placed on the wound. Also the lose skin makes the wound looking much worse.

My older daughter was sick in bed, my wife was shopping, and by the time my younger daughter arrived, I was already on my way to the Kaiser Hospital Urgent Care facility.

In hindsight, I was plain silly; but all the blood next to my eye had scared me. If you take away the lose skin, then it’s really no big deal.

The emergency physician checked thoroughly whether I am still fully by my senses, and then sent me for a CT-Scan to check for bone fractures. I had a $200 co-pay and had to wait for over one hour for the results that were negative.

An LVN cleaned my wound and placed a huge bandage over the wound, while the MD prescribed Keflex antibiotic. Because this medication will damage my gut biome, and because the wound is only superficial skin damage, I won’t take the medication.

My reaction to the accident was only an initial panic, while my family is still much more worried than I am. May God bless them.

God loves you, and so do I.

Oh, now my puppy climbs up on me and wants to clean my wound with his tongue. Permission not granted.

One of the most amazing things I ever smelled were the flowers on some kind of lemon tree while visiting a new garden. Before I even came across the front garden to the path leading around the house and back to the backyard I was drawn to it, and I have a weak nose. So I can imagine an orange tree's flower could be amazing too. The other favorite smell were the flowers of an exotic palm tree. Never knew they could even compete.

You are a lucky man to have many able loved ones eager to help you. But I agree with you about stepping away from ladders and heavy lifting, better too soon than too late.

Hiya, Peeps! Hope you're having a good Thursday, February 19th.
Raining again. Not whining, merely reporting. Dry weather and highs in the 70s are expected by Sunday and should continue through the following ten days.

No errands to be done today - I took care of those yesterday during our day between storms. They took a bit longer than expected so I didn't get around to some of the household chores I'd intended to do so they were put off until today. I'm midway through already and it's just barely past noon.

See you later, alligators!

Morning all, on my early walk at 6:50, temp was 43 with light rain as I walked around the building once before breakfast
My plans today, go to weekly exercise class at 10-10:45. I've invited a church friend, Callie for lunch at 12:15, the last time she was here was in July. The rest of my day depending if its not pouring outside, take another walk outside, read today's NYT, see what today's dinner menu is like
Every body have a good day

Good morning friends !! It is sunny and 20Deg "F" outside!!!!! yes that is the
current temp, a big drop from 68deg yesterday....so whatever i do it won't

Good morning to everyone. It is cloudy but 66 degrees and 80 this afternoon.
I saw some neighbor yesterday sun bathing and walking around shirtless (men, of course.)

There is an area around one of the ponds for walking dogs and I saw quite a few people out there enjoying the weather with their dogs.

Our weather goes below freezing again on Monday and Tuesday night and then warm again. My poor Gardenia plant will be completely mixed up with covering and uncovering it.

@moviequeen1 it sounds like you will have a good lunch with your church friend.

Enjoy your day, everyone. :)

Sunbathing ?..in february?..OMG...lol

Afternoon Peeps of SF... 🙋‍♀️ ...what can I tell you... can I tell you it's not raining ?....Nooooooooo...I cannot.. because again for the fifty millionth time it IS raining, and has been most of the day....atho the sun is attempting to peek through. Too little too late it'll be dark again in an hour...

One day this rain will stop... and my sodden garden which is now growing toadstools because of the constant rain, will get the attention it needs

Have the best Friday you can folks... 🌺🌺

Yes, they like to sunbathe here and once the pool is open, they use up all the lounge chairs to sunbathe. The woman here I saw yesterday had on a skimpy outfit not a swim suit. It will hot this afternoon, so that will bring more of them out. :D
Our communal pool in Spain doesn't open until May..... off course the residents can if they wish take a swim early morning... but the water is freezing.... so for general use it doesn't really open until May 1st

here in the Uk if you sunbathed in february.. they'd think you must be a visitor from Iceland... :ROFLMAO:

Took a mile-and-a-half walk around a nearby neighborhood... Enjoyed the wind in the pines, birds flying overhead and so many flowers coming out...
Sunny daffodils bobbing their heads in the wind
Japanese magnolia trees with dusky pink or black cherry blossoms
Coral azaleas peaking out in their shady spots
Perky pansies in their calliope colors-- deep purple, creamy orange, burgundy and snow white.

'Course with the temps dropping over the next couple days, some may wish they could pull those blossoms back in!

Made myself a frozen blueberry and banana smoothie and ate peanut butter on crackers. Now going to get showered and head out for the day.

Y'all take care.

The weather for tomorrow keeps changing, so I still don't know if I'll be going skating, or staying home. It'll be 5 weeks since I last skated. I sure would like to go!! 🛼
talking of that I can't wait to be able to swim.... trouble is it's 50 mile round trip to a decent outdoor swimming pool... and then it gets packed like sardines because public pools here are as rare as hens teeth these days ...so I have to go early...

There is a leisure centre wth an indoor pool near me, but I much prefer swimming in the sun...

I sure am envious of those of you who live in warmer climates! We're sitting at 9 F (–13 C) and looking at –4 F (–20 C) tonight. Brr!

I had to rush to meet an afternoon deadline today, so I was not able to meet my friends for our weekly Friday coffee get-together, darn. Then I ran out to pick up a new ironing board but cheaped out and just bought an ironing board cover/pad. I'll try to affix it tonight. We'll see how that goes. (Very exciting night ahead of me, ha ha.)

@hawkdon, I hope your allergies don't get too bad! When I lived in Missouri, mine were horrible. People said it was mold, but I think it was just pollen because of all the lovely trees and flowers. I used to go through so much Kleenex! I'd still move back in a heartbeat, though.

I hope you all have had, or are having a great day/night.

Ksav yes my allergies are getting worse every season it seems....too many trees

couple yearss.....

I know we’re not supposed to ask but haven’t seen @fuzzybuddy since around September? He was prolific and I like him very much. Does anyone know anything?
Someone mentioned that he’d moved on to another site. Too bad. He has a great sense of humour.

There hasn’t been anything from Chic, though occasionally she has been noticed as online.

Sorry, I know we’re discouraged from commenting on missing members. @Don M. was a longtime member. It’s been several months.

Well, I had a lovely day yesterday catching up with my cousin, her son and his wife. I haven't seen them for 8 years since they were here last in Sydney. She arrived last week from cold, old Yorkshire. She hates the cold whilst I hate the heat. We had a lovely time at an Indian Restaurant talking about family. Her mother and my mother were sisters. She has 2 sisters still in England and I have 2 sisters living here in Australia. She showed me photos of her family, and it was lovely hearing about the good old days. They went to live in England in 1963 and we moved here to Australia in 1947. It was a sad goodbye as I don't
think we will see each other again.

I've never really been swimming since my schooldays, although I've always lived near the sea and had access to indoor pools.
Here on N.E. Scotland, the sea is pretty cold all year, but that doesn't deter the holidaymakers. The locals have more sense - except perhaps
for the brave ladies who go swimming on Christmas day!

Along the coast from me, is the Tarlair Lido. Built in the 'Art deco' style it was once a popular seaside destination, but it has fallen into disrepair.Tarlair-Lido-2-web.jpg

Morning all, I didn't go far on my early morning walk at 6:50 temp was 33 due to fact some of sidewalks were a little icy. We had unseasonably warm temps{40's} most of the week, a lot of snow had melted. Last night cold front came thru rain turned to snow, we have an inch. I'll be staying inside today
The rest of my day, do paper work, read my book, see what today's lunch&dinner menu is offering
Tonight at 8pm on BBC America, watch the final episode of limited series' Kingdom' narrated by Sir David Attenbrough, throughly enjoyed this series
Everybody have a good day
