Afternoon peeps of SF.... 🙋‍♀️

Would you believe me if I told you it's not raining ?...well it's not... it's overcast, cold and grim, but it's not raining.. for once

I've been packing up more donations for the charity shops.. got 2 big black bags full.. to take next week ...

No other plans for this weekend.. it's too cold to do anything outside or in the barn... so until Monday when i do have stuff to do .. I'm just chilling...

Have the best weekend you can folks... 🌺🌺

Thank you mentioning Fuzzybuddy. The other member I'm concerned about is @chic. She hasn't posted since December.
Someone mentioned that he’d moved on to another site. Too bad. He has a great sense of humour.

There hasn’t been anything from Chic, though occasionally she has been noticed as online.

Sorry, I know we’re discouraged from commenting on missing members. @Don M. was a longtime member. It’s been several months.
she has been around tho'... just not posted....so hopefully she's ok....
Nothing from Oldeagle66 since the day before Thanksgiving.

Good morning to everyone. It is 66 degrees outside and cloudy. We need rain but only freezing weather Monday and Tuesday night. Thank goodness the freezing temperature is only for a few hours.

Grocery delivery this morning with a young man who is a good shopper. We will be going to town later this morning to do some things we need to do for this weekend.

I hope all of you are staying well and enjoy your Saturday. :)

Good Saturday morning, Peeps. Chilly here this early morning. I woke up in the fours and gave up the ghost by 5am. Expecting there'll be a nap in my fairly immediate future.

Our house is under a moderate ant invasion, likely due to the recent rains. Terro will solve the problem, although I hate, hate, hate killing anything, and even admire ants' selflessness and industriousness. Even so, I can't abide having them in my home, never mind wandering around my desk.

Not sure what kind of trouble I'll get into today... will keep you posted.

Make today a good day, my friends!

Oh, what a beautiful mornin'
Oh, what a beautiful day.

After a rainy week, we got so far the best snow in the mountains this winter. Pictures with Heidi 6 and Rex 1.5 y/o.
We are living in the so-called "Inland Empire" East of Los Angeles that is almost surrounded by mountain ranges.

It was very hard to get up this morning in the subzero temperatures. I keep my place quite cold at night because I prefer to sleep in cooler temperatures, and I was under a pile of blankets. It was both mentally and physically difficult to get up. :giggle:

But get up I did. After my weekly (AA) meeting I stopped by TJ Maxx and found this soap for my older daughter! I've always called her my little bunny, so it's perfect. (My younger daughter is my little duckie, and my son is my little bear. Silly, I know. I make no apologies, though!)

I told her that her husband can suck it up and use bunny soap or I will buy him his own, more manly, bottle of a different soap. 😁

I'm back home now and need to work. But I don't want to work—I want to read or watch a movie. I'll try to strike a compromise.

I hope everyone's day is going, or has gone, well.

Beautiful day, Sunny, 64°F. But tomorrow night the temp will drop back below freezing. This is the time of year when we change clothes about three times during the day. First you’re cold, then too hot, then cold again.

Today, I went to a Plant Swap at our local history museum. It was very enjoyable. Meet a lot of nice people.

I gave away Walking Iris, Begonia, Staghorn Fern, and Philodendron. Brought home, Spider Plant, Hellbore, and Streptocarpus. Also zinnia seeds.

I went to the event hoping to snag a Spider Plant. Success!

I'm the same I don't have heating on in my house at night so the bed is where I get warm.. and I know the feeling of being too warm and comfy to want to get up, and into the freezing room....

In the mornings it's a mad dash for me to get up and into the shower before I break my teeth shivering ...

I could set the heating to come on in the morning before I get up, but I never know when that will be ...:ROFLMAO:

As for TKMaxx( yes we call it TK here)... Soaps..I can never resist them... they are so beautiful.... it's madness really because the soap is no better quality than others but the packaging is so cute...

Late yesterday a light went on on my dashboard indicating that I need an oil change. I thought I would go to a local garage but one of the housemates had a better idea. Join Groupon and search for the best price. We went to the next town and they added on charges which made it more expensive than the original place. Ain't technology wonderful?

Shop local when you can.

Hubs is off on weekends so we each pick a place to have lunch every Saturday. Today we went to our favorite authentic Cajun restaurant. Man, was I bad. I rarely eat fried food, but I ordered a seafood platter with fried shrimp, oysters, catfish, crawfish and french fries. He ordered rice and beans with Andouille sausage. We ordered fried green tomatoes with Remoulade sauce as an appetizer. Needless to say we will be enjoying lots of leftovers over the next few days. Yum!

We did walk a couple of miles around the lake afterward to work off that food. It was 63 and sunny today.

I caught about an hour and a half nap starting around 11am and the rest of my day has gone swimmingly. Hoping to have a good night's sleep tonight because we'll have our 4 year old (no-nap) grandson tomorrow morning through late afternoon. His nearly 2 year old brother will come over around noon, so we'll have both for several hours. That'll give DS & DDIL some time to take care of household chores.

This son was very, very close to my mom and has always wanted his children to have a similar relationship with DH & me, so we get lots of time with the kids. ❤️

I haven't quite mastered how to quote multiple posts in one reply, and I'm getting super-tired, so I'll just use the @ tag.

First I want to quickly clarify my post about getting my son-in-law a quote-unquote "manly" soap. I wasn't trying to imply anything. (I tend to overthink.) He's a good-natured guy, but I'm not sure he'd be keen on using a soap called Bunny Hollow.

@hollydolly, I had to smile at your post, and it reminded me that I can actually turn up my thermostat using the app on my phone before I even have to get out of bed. So all I have to do is reach over to the nightstand and use the app to turn the heat up. (Everything in my building is now controlled by apps. I mostly hate it, but it does have its good points. Now if I could just remember that. . . )

Come to think of it, I could probably pre-set my thermostat, too.

@seadoug, your post made my mouth water. I love cajun food. That sounds like such a nice day!

talking of that I can't wait to be able to swim.... trouble is it's 50 mile round trip to a decent outdoor swimming pool... and then it gets packed like sardines because public pools here are as rare as hens teeth these days ...so I have to go early...

There is a leisure centre wth an indoor pool near me, but I much prefer swimming in the sun...
I still have you beat....it's 80 miles (one way) to the roller rink! 😁

If you enjoy swimming, or whatever activity you choose, it's worth going!

Guess what I did, yesterday!!! 😁

I had a great time at the rink! I sort of took it easy, since I hadn't skated in 5 weeks. My bad knee did well and hardly even noticed the extra activity. However, by the time I was ready to go home, my (so called) good knee kept on yelling "what were you thinking"?!!!!!! 1771769481800.png

Right before going to bed last night, my (so called) good knee adjusted with a little, tiny "pop"....and it's been much better since then. I guess it just needed to adjust. It's still a little sore, but hardly noticeable.

Now for the big question.....

I like your plan....want some help with the "Veging and Streaming"?

Good morning to everyone. It is 71 degrees now but the wind is blowing. There is a red flag alert for the area, so we have to be prepared incase of a fire starting. Our weather is getting more scary than the hurricane season at the moment.

I have been doing chores this morning and now I might get to relax before fixing lunch.

I hope all of you are doing well and enjoy your day.

Afternoon peeps of SF..🙋‍♀️.. it's sunny at last.... and dry... have all the windows open even tho' it's only 13 deg ... I always think the house must smell musty if I've had the windows closed for days due to the rain...

I don't smell anything myself, but then you sometimes don't ...

Anyway.. my gardener text and said he can come tomorrow and mow all the lawns... I told him NO....don't bother..

I did it because he messed me around again a couple of weeks ago, not replying to me ... so if he think he's gonna lose this job he'll buck his ideas up...

I think I might make roast beef for dinner, with Yorkshire puddings, Mashed potato, and Broccoli...

have the best Sunday you can folks.... 🌺🌺

Hello Dahlings! I'm feeling a little Gabor-ish this morning - can you tell?

You may remember that about a month ago I finally completed my frequently delayed task of updating my recipe binder. Well I'm here to tell you that yesterday I typed up, added to the table of contents and plastic sleeved a couple of new recipes that I've had success with recently. I really want to stay with this so my cookbook remains current.

Happy to report I got a solid night's sleep. It got a bit lacy starting at about 4:30am but I powered through and mostly dozed until 7. I'll need all my wits and energy because the littles are coming today. ❤️

Hope all figure out something interesting for today!
