How is your day Today? Chat about your plans and achievements 2026....

Good morning to everyone. It is 73 this morning but will be 86 this afternoon. We had a thunder storm last night with heavy rain but it didn't last very long.

The photos on here are great and I enjoy looking at them. @hollydolly you are very talented with the photos you post and @packleader the pictures you post are cute with your dogs and grandson and also your scenic photos. Other members on here, your photos are nice, too.

Enjoy your day, everyone.

We would call those "biscuits". Cheese biscuits with sausage gravy is my idea of Heaven. Do they serve those in Heaven? If so, I will clean up my act and convert to any religion that promises that.
here they're scones because they are sweet , soft and light in the middle ....

I hear you have similar called biscuits but that you put them into stews or gravy.......we put dumplings into our stews and gravies

I didn't know you were having heart problems Starsong..I'm afraid if it doesn't get posted on this thread then I dont see it...
I don't believe I do have heart problems, Holly. If my own GP had been overseeing my care (rather than the "hospitalist doctor"), I highly doubt this test would have been ordered. My GP knows my BP runs low and can crater with little or no provocation. Plus I had all manner of heart tests run last summer and all came back clear.
Before retiring, I was a Cardiac Technician for 20 years. In that time, I hooked up many patients with heart monitors. (We had the 1-2 day kind.) It is very possible that @StarSong may not have a heart problem. Many times these monitors are used to rule out heart problems.

Regardless....best wishes for good results! 💗
That's likely what's going on here, Trila. As I said, the full saga is here: How are you today?
I think one 'how is your day thread'' is enough for one forum... I often wonder why people start duplicate threads particularly when the original has been running for a long time...
I don't disagree. Many of us post on both threads. I often do, and just happened to type out the whole story on the other thread that day. No particular reason why. Probably came up earlier in my alert notifications.

Been a pleasantly busy few days... I like having a productive "to do" list that I can do at my leisure with coffee/tea breaks between 🫖🍵🍰

Have been sitting outside, enjoying the breeze, reading a book and listening to bird song.
The delicate tracery of the still-leafless tulip poplar trees is lovely against the blue sky dotted with white/puffy clouds.

The across-the-street neighbors have a new puppy (beagle maybe?), who seems very laid back. Watched the husband walk to his mail box with his little canine 'shadow,' tail waving briskly.

The neighbor on the other side also acquired a new dog within the last year... they favor Jack Russells. This one is (thankfully) pretty calm; he barks but it's not that shrill, explosive bark like most JRs.

I'm soooo pining for a new cat but I'm trying to be disciplined and save some more toward the roof replacement before I spring for a new pet. But I dearly miss having a cat in the house.

Well it's been such a wet day...felt like winter today, I can hardly believe the difference between yesterdays' glorious sun, and todays' grey, cold and very wet....

All the walking yesterday must have taken out of me.. and altho' I went to bed at 10pm last night I was up at 5am... but the cold and the dreariness, and probably all the exercise and fresh air yesterday .. caused me to fall asleep this afternoon... sitting on the sofa... and I went into a really deep sleep as well for about 90 minutes.. so when I woke up I wasn't even sure where I was for a few minutes..lol

🥱

I never heard of biscuits being put into stews or gravy. I cover mine with gravy once a year -- the gravy's base is bacon, instead of yucky sausage. On Allrecipes, it's called Kentucky gravy. Makes sense to me as my dad's family is in KY.

Some people put thick egg noodles into mixtures and they call them dumplings. My dumplings are made with flour and are roundish balls (actually blobs). I like to make chicken and dumplings, mostly for the dumplings.

Every single scone I've seen or tasted has been dry, relatively tasteless, and triangular in shape. All of these scones have been in the USA. They remind me of dog treats, but for people.

Oh what shame that you've not tried true scones.. because they're nothing like you describe...altho' you can make triangle ones... but otherwise no they're not hard ...they have the consistency like cake...and inside you can have them plain... or bake them with cheese, or dried fruit ( usually sultanas)...

Yes I make dumplings with just flour, salt and just a little water.. most people put suet in thiers, and that's what the recipes tell you to do... but IMO...suet makes them heavy and dense.. whereas mine are big, light and fluffy inside

Well today Saturday 7th March I started off with a long walk in the shopping centre, did some grocery shopping and when I got home, I decided to wash my car. That took me a good hour and because the humidity was very high 94%, I was wringing wet. The neighbour commented that rain was on the way, so that made me say, "Every time I wash the car, it usually rains". When I got inside, I could hardly get my clothes off as they were stuck to me, so I put the aircon. on to feel cool again. Don't dare sit down as I know I'll probably doze off. I feel pretty good for sticking to my exercise plan.

Did you know , if you think about it oscash... you're literally stepping back in time when you talk to me on here... because we're behind you time wise, it's 4.52 am on the 7th of March here... lol

Another grim overcast day on this Saturday..... It's almost 9am..Im not going anywhere altho I'm dressed as if I'm going out but I;m not... it just feels quite cold in the house , it;s 6 deg right now... so I have 2 thin layers and a thick polo neck sweater on....

Just had a message from my Gas/Electricity supplier to say that Gas prices have now doubled and Electric prices have increased significantly due to the middle east conflict.

Our prices are already very high, and many people can't afford to out heating on at all as it is and I generally only put it on for an hour a day... the Gas central heating boiler is set to heat the water every morning and night for an hour each time.. that gives me enough water to shower and clean floors etc.... and then when it heats again later in the day for anything else..like laundry..

I won't change that because the price has doubled, but I'll definitely reduce the time I have the heating on which is also gas central heating.. and instead of an hour a day I'll keep to a minimum.. and onnly put it on if it gets unbearably cold

This is the big problem about living alone..no-one to share the bills with any longer everything is down to me.. .
