I’m not feeling tough. I feel sad weak and afraid. The constant pain—excruciating at times. The loneliness. The boredom. Missing my cats and so sorry to cause them loneliness. The fear I will lose my legs. Will I ever be home again.

I could go on and on. I’m so beat down. It’s five full months today since I’ve been hospitalized.

I’m thankful for you all having faith in me

Thanks so much for sticking with me. I need you more than I can say.

I’m hungry. Wish they would serve breakfast. I think I smell food
Five full months..... that is extremely, extremely......beyond...... and the fears and the pain.....
I don't have the words, but i comprehend, as best I can.
I think of you, often, as I'm sure others are doing the same, Pepper. What an ordeal.
I'm glad for your updates.

It is currently 44° and cloudy, with a feels like of 34°. It says on my weather app that the rain will be stopping soon.

Thank goodness it is not raining where I live because the lawn people are here in the freezing cold, mowing because the grass grew practically overnight. all 4 acres of the yard/front pastures.

They don’t do the main pastures because those require the neighbor‘s big John Deere and his bat wings.

My brother wants to come down from Ohio for several days ——- in a week or two 😳😳. He can still work like I used to and I have a list🤠🤠

Good early afternoon to everyone. It is 57 degrees now and sunny. The night time temps are getting better for the rest of the week.

I am dusting and cleaning the house before company again on Saturday. I guess that helps with the housework as I don't want the house to look dirty and unkept.

@Pepper I sure hope things will go well for you in your move to another place. Sending positive thoughts your way.

Enjoy your day everyone and hoping all of you are well.

Hey everyone...it's a bit after 5pm... it's been such a glorious sunny day. I took my car for a much needed run.... 80 mile round trip.....it sits outside all week going nowehere currently..so it needs it...

Anyway I was already going to meet with my friend to visit the farmers market, so we did that, had coffee at the farm shop Cafe and bought some fresh food from the farm shop....... and then I went off by myself to do some grocery shopping at Tesco.

Tried to get fuel but every pump had run dry.. this is the shortage of oil etc now due to the US/Iran war... well and truly begun here...

... this field is next to the farm shop cafe.. usually there's donkeys in it, but not today

Hang in there, @Pepper; we are rooting for you. 🤗 I really wish I were there to help, or at least just visit and keep you company.

I woke up late today and have been racing around. Lots of deadlines to meet on Friday. Today it is in the mid-60s here, and I'd like to get outdoors at some point.

I have been "laughing" with my younger daughter via text. She and her boyfriend went to Texas over the weekend, where it is pleasant and warm, and their flight home was canceled because of the shortage of TSA agents caused by the partial DHS shutdown. The next flight home isn't until tomorrow. So, boo hoo, they had to stay and have fun in Texas for a few extra days.
😇

I hope everyone is having a good day.

Oh No...Lois.... :eek:where are you now.. are you at the hospital ?
No, Holly. I picked myself up, called my doctor, and she was here within 5 minutes. She examined me, determined no fractures, but lots of bruising, muscle pulls, and the like. X-Rays showed no fractures as well, and bore out her findings. But I am sore as hell and will be for a couple of weeks.

Went to my pulmonologist today as we have been keeping a close eye on a nodule on my right lung, which we figure is malignant. He ordered a Pet Scan and a consult with my radiation oncologist. Since, at my advanced age, I refuse surgery, she will no doubt order radiation once again. The last time I had it on 2 nodules, it was very successful. Luckily, my hospital
has the beam.

I refuse surgery due to anesthesia, which is detrimental to us oldsters. I have all my marbles yet, and I wouldn't want to wake up and not recognize my son.

Love these photos, Holly, but sorry about that gas and oil situation. Getting bad over here as well.

Oooh I bet you DO hurt as well... but thank goodness nothing broke... You're a very strong lady for being in your 90's that's for sure. I hope the pain doesn't last too long.. and you're able to sleep without too much discomfort..

I do remember the Lung diagnosis a while back ... thank goodness your hospital has ''the beam''.....🤗

My elderly neighbour has the ambulance and paramedics there again.. at her house. When I got home there was a Rapid response ambulance outside my house... so I wasn't sure who they were tending to...they left soon after I got home, and a few minutes later , the On call Dcotor car was there... and no sooner had he arrived, but the Fully crewed Ambulance arried, and they're there now.. . I just saw them take a stretcher in...

I'm afraid for her, she's close to 90... very independant, very full on Balsy and she hates all the medical interventions, .. but in the last year or more the ambulance has been out to her so many times.. . I'm afraid we might lose her before too long..

@Pepper

So many times in my life, people have told me "You are tough" or "strong", or as my Mother used to say, "You have grit." I hated it because it was always when something awful was happening and I sure didn't feel that way; those comments just made me angry. It felt like a way for the speaker to dump all responsibility on me. "You're tough" sounds like "I'm not gonna help, you're on your own." This is just me, not casting fault on anybody because I think people mean that in a helpful way? IDK.

There are no magic words. How I wish there were, though. Thinking of you.
I so agree with this. I hear about people's courage, toughness, grit, strength, etc., as they fight, battle, defy, f*ck, or otherwise deal with illness, injury, loss or adversity.

As if there's an option. (Like what, roll over and die?)

DNA in all living things is programmed for survival. Species without strong life-preserving genes would be extinct in nothing flat. Humans are no different.

@Pepper, I send hugs, caring, sympathy and empathy your way. I hope you can endure whatever is in front of you with a reasonable amount of calm, patience, appreciation for whatever positives there are (perhaps a kind nurse, a tasty meal, a nice conversation with someone) and maybe even an occasional burst of good humor. ❤️

So, what's actually happening now then ?.. Having moved you into the twin nursing home, what's going to be happening different in this place ..any ideas ? What have they told you ?

It’s different atmosphereically. The staff comes within minutes not 30 minutes to well over an hour. The food is equally putrid.

I started PT this afternoon. In both places it is impressive. This place is much smaller

This place has more windows. My private room overlooks a building which houses a film forum. One is encouraged here to have meals in a communal space.

I think this place is more suitable except for not being able to see my family on an almost daily basis.

A lot of my mental anguish involves being separated from my cats and that they are lonely. @hollydolly

so what are you getting Physio on ?... I thought they were going to amputate ? ..yes/no ?

Talking of physio, I got an an appt for physio at my doctors suregery..for the end of April... it's a waste of time really, because you get 15 minutes max.. and then they can't make another appt for about a month after ..or more... so totally useless

In the past I just paid privately for Physio... but it's expensive privately..its about £70 for 30 minutes but at least I can have it every week I also got a message telling me that a date in April is available for my Cortisone shot in my hip..

it was quite amusing, because 5 days ago I had a call from the Insurance company saying that the 3rd party insurance had admitted liability for the crash into my new car..where she crashed into the driver side.. and they even told me what the settlement amount was.

I still haven't received that.. but when i got home this evening, there was an email from the Legal services company who deal with something ..or other, I don't really know what.... saying the same thing they've been saying for 5 months.. we're still on the case but we can't discover where the 3rd party is...to get them to admit liability...

.. So, I immediately called them and said, what's going on.. Insurance company called last week told me liability had been admitted etc...

..and she said ..they didn't know a thing about it the Insurance company hadn't told them..... so I had to go through all that again with them, and actaully had to read her the follow up mail I got tfrom the Insurance company confirming the 3rd party liability acceptance.

Then she says..ok so we'll get an appt made for you to see a doctor to take note of all your injuries from the crash and get you some physiotherapy... I said.. errrm.. you do realise it's been 5 months don't you ?.. I've had to see my own GP in the meantime. *sigh*

Talk about right hands and left hands not knowing what what the other is doing..

Everybody have a good day

Good morning! It's hard to believe that we had freezing rain and snow literally the other day, because the forecast for today is 73 F (23 C)—wow! I'm thrilled.

I have a very busy day of work ahead, but I will be taking a break to go to the self-service car wash and scrub off all the road sand and dirt that are covering it. I'm looking forward to some extended fresh air. We have more snow in the forecast this weekend, so I want to take advantage of today's mild weather.

My younger daughter texted late last night to say they had made it out of Texas but were stuck overnight in Denver. They should be getting home today. What an adventure!

I hope everyone has a good day. 🌸🌻

Guess where I'm going, after the gym today. Yep!!! I'm taking my Mom to another doctor's appointment!!! This is day 3 of busy, running around! The good news is that today is just a checkup, and then I will get a break for at least a week.

Today is also the start of our warm weather. We should reach a sunny, 81°F/27.2°C, and it is expected to continue for as far as the forecast goes.

Goodbye winter!!!!! 🙃

Good morning to everyone. It is cooler today with high of 68 degrees.

I am still getting the house ready for visitors on Saturday. They are work friends of my husband. Both are really nice.

I am cutting my husband's hair in a little while. It is a pretty silver color and only needs to be trimmed in the back and around his ears. I guess it will look okay. He says it sure saves on going to the barber.:D

Have a good day today, everyone.

Afternoon all....

Not long back, from having a lovely relaxed afternoon out.

I went to the garden centre, and they have a hand car wash there... so I had my car washed while I wandered around the garden centre..

I really went to get som fruit.. which I did... some dates, tomatoes, peaches.. .. and also some baking potatoes

IMG-0226.jpg

They're doing a great price on Avocados...

IMG-0229.jpg

I had 45 minutes to kill while the car was being cleaned.. so I just wandered around... The cafe was Mobbed... not a table available...
IMG-0235.jpg

I had a look at some Forsythia in the garden centre.. thought about buying some but then didn't want to carry a big one home in my little car...
I did buy a new doormat for the Kitchen.. I had actually intended to buy it anyway if they had the right size, which they rarely do...
