An interesting day. We caught a 10am train to Glasgow (First class) then spent the afternoon mooching around the city. Now waiting to see The ELO Show (ELO Tribute) at the Pavillion Theatre. No idea what we’re doing tomorrow. Train home on Saturday.

I was supposed to go for tests at the imaging center this morning, but felt tired and was getting very mild flutters and did not feel like being smushed, poked and prodded, so I rescheduled. My BFF and granddaughter called, so I had a couple of nice conversations. I finally made pumpkin bread; I had been meaning to make another loaf for a couple of weeks. Next time I'm going to either have to use white sugar (used raw sugar and agave this time) or use xylitol in which case my son won't eat any. I'd like the bread to be sweeter; raw sugar doesn't do the trick and adding agave didn't help much.

Good morning; I have a very busy day of work ahead and am settling down now. I was able to meet a good friend yesterday for a spur-of-the-moment coffee; that was nice!

Our Winter Weather Advisory has been upgraded to a Winter Storm Warning. We're looking at about 10 inches of snow today and through tomorrow. I will be staying indoors today to catch up on work but probably heading out tomorrow to my weekly AA meeting and other errands. My younger daughter and I are trying to coordinate our schedules—well, her schedule (she does shift work as an RN); mine's pretty flexible—so we can go see Undertone in the theater before it leaves. The plot involves a podcaster who is sent creepy audio files, we'd like to see it in the theater with the surround sound.

I'm excited for Easter photos of my three grandchildren on Sunday.😊

I hope everyone's day is going well.

Hey Starsong, try to send those 70's & 80 degrees temps to my neck of the woods,, our temps lately here have been in the 40-50's LOL Sue
Some for me, too, please!

Lovely flowers, @packleader.

This morning at 9 ,friend Mary picking me up,this week's 'road trip' to our favorite $ store, need to find birthday card for close friend, Marcia, her bd is 4/13
The rest of my day read my book, today's NYT, see what today's lunch/dinner menu is offering. I hope to get another walk in forecast clouds/ sun highs in mid 60's
Everybody have a good day

Good morning to everyone. It is another warm day at 82 degrees. We might get a little rain but it usually doesn't happen.

Yesterday we had our air conditioning unit maintenance done and it is working well.

Today, we are going to fill car up with gas at $4.20 a gallon. I hate the increase in our gas prices but one must have it and we have to drive to go to town for everything.

I hope all of you are well and enjoy your day. :)

Today it's a different day to yesterday... in that it;s overcast.. and threatening to rain...

I had a delivery of birthday party items delivered which Ive bought for my daughters' birthday lunch next weekend... and they just left the box on the doorstep. Fortunately it was there when i got up , but there wasn't even a notification that it had been left.. so it was a good thing I've got into the habit of looking outside when i get out of bed...

I was soo tired after yesterdays; busy day.. that I slept for 9 hours... 9HOURS... who could believe that !....however I woke up with a crick in my neck which is still with me...

My gardener rang, he told me he's moved from 5 minutes walk away...to the complete other side of the county... ! he's coming to do the lawns tomorrow, but you know how unreliable he is living just 5 minutes away... what are the chances he's going to getting here when he should , living an hour away ?

Anyway ..fancy having snow at Easter? I don't envy you that @KSav

In the UK the road traffic people are expecting the biggest getaway for the holiday weekend since 2022... despite the soaring cost of fuel.

I'll be surprised if that's the case.. but we'll find out once the weekend is over... but for sure it won't be me this weekend..

Have a super Easter weekend

Well this has to be a record..... less than 2 hours after he said he was coming tomorrow.. I get a phone call telling me he can't make it until the 18th of April.. because the people he's relying on for transport can't do it until then ! JEEEZ>..give me strength.!😩

I told him, ok that's it..you've left me no choice now , I have to get a new gardener. he said ''oh ok and then I'll see you on the 18th'''...

Nope that's not happening, I told him.... if I get a new gardener, he's going to get the job..I can't wait around for you all the time... .

So that's it..finally, I've got to find a new gardener.. *sigh*... ... have an idea, of someone.. a little more expensive but they're a couple and he apparently is a handyman as well, so I'll give them a call after the holiday weekend...

You've been amazingly patient with this guy, @hollydolly. I hope he's grateful for that. Good luck finding a new one.

@hollydolly that is such an unreliable gardener. Mine is late a times, too. He is coming over today, so I hope he does. I would quit your gardener, too.
Absolutely Rae... he's a nightmare.. he's a really personable nice guy, and he's illiterate and has 2 children to feed.. and so unable to get a regular job... which is why I've given him so many chances..but enough is enough now !

I have. I've given him more chances than enough. There's a couple of people a husband and wife, who are recommended on th neighbourhood app, so I'll give them a ring... they're more expensive.. but I'll see what I can find.

I would normally just go do it myself, but the new lawnmower I bought last summer, is not collecting the grass as it should...

Good morning and Happy Friday! I never understood why the day Christians commemorate Jesus's death as
"Good." Looked it up and learned "good" formerly meant holy or pious. So there's that.

Filled in the balance of the March 2024 to March 2025 spreadsheet data yesterday. Analysis and results reports tomorrow & Monday. Today we have both littles (ages 2 & 4) so concentrating for long stretches won't be in the cards.

Last night was a lacy sleep, netting 6 hours at most. Woke up at 3:30 like I'd been shot out of a cannon and couldn't fall back to sleep. In desperation, I took an OTC sleeping pill a little after 4. It eventually kicked in sometime after 5. Yes, it gave me a couple more hours, but now at 8:30am I'm foggy and groggy from both the pill and the interrupted sleep.

If I don't rally before then, I'll try to catch a short nap around 11am when the 2 year old usually conks.

I'm home, and the Wi-Fi is back!!! 1775238931940.png

I had a pretty good workout at the gym this morning. I wasn't able to do the PT for my bad knee because there was a class in the room that I use. I'll just have to do it at home, instead.

It's partly sunny, and pleasant warm. Our rain is to start in the early evening and continue (on & off) through through tomorrow. Right now it looks like there will be no skating for me this weekend.

We're back! And yes - Central Station is fine. The fire was nearby.

With the rail disruptions tomorrow meaning a regular slow train to Carlisle. A one hour wait until a train to Oxenholme then a bus replacement home. And that’s if all goes to plan. Total trip about 6 hours instead of the regular 2hrs 15min. Then there’s Storm Dave on the way too. We decided to come home today via a very nice First Class and lovely free food & drinks :)

yes I know exactly where the fire was but it shut the upper central station down completely while all the building was demolished

I was just about to book a trip there as well.. so I'll wait until everything is back to normal

jeez 6 hours... that's how long it takes from here to Glasgow..... and yes I heard you're in for big storms up in the north of England

Someone stole a large jar of Cerave from my hospital room. I’m livid. I rarely buy anything and it helped my dry skin. It cost almost $20. Almost full as I didn’t need to use it often.

Hate thieves and especially from an obvious victim. Old hospital patients
Ask your son to buy a couple of indelible ink Sharpies. Mark everything like that in several places with your name.

Thieves are scum.
