Had go to a shop nearby yesterday and that drive takes me through the vinyard area that is not far from home. As it's still early spring here (not very warm yet) the vast areas of vines are still trimmed down which they do after the past years harvest. They'll grow again this year and produce another crop of grapes of course.

There are several winery headquarters spread around the area. Of course they all have their own vinyards.
There's busloads of people that come out from the big city (Toronto) to spend the day touring the winery headquarters and having wine tasting experiences as well as upscale food offerings.

Here's one of the winery's headquarters:

I guess there's big money in owning a vinyard because the owners live in pretty palatial residences.
A new build near the headquarters I showed:

So next time you purchase a bottle of wine, rest assured you're helping someone, somewhere live the
high life 🥂
it's all lovely as it is in Spain and Italy as well.. and I comfort myself as a teetotaller in knowing they didn't do it using any of my money ....:ROFLMAO:

I have heard that the surgery is on the brink of failure. My 💔 is breaking at the thought of this. TY MrPants
I'm so sorry you are going through yet more health issues Pepper. I saw your post about having such a nice day and was hopeful you would be having more days like that. Sending out positive vibes that you will get the care you need and get back to healing.

I fell asleep at the computer before I posted this! 🙄 So this refers to yesterday....I started doing laundry using my little machines this evening. I didn't want to do it early because the dryer makes the kitchen real hot and I was hoping someone would come to start the repair on the leak in my kitchen but that didn't happen. Doing laundry using my machines, though convenient, is very tiring what with all the bending, twisting and lifting. But I've noticed that my clothes look cleaner when I do. However, it is not practical to always do it up here.

I texted one of the agents in the managing office this afternoon with pictures of the leak. I texted her again tonight telling her the leak has gotten worse and attached videos showing the leak from multiple areas. I'm going to email her and another agent with a description of what's been happening and attach the same videos. One was taken yesterday by the contractor and the other tonight, by my son.

Good morning peeps of SF... 🌞 ..another glorious sunny day... no breeze....

The day has started with a bump....

I left here at before 8.30am.. to take my car to the garage. It was booked in for 9.15am.. but even tho it's only 4 miles away, it means going through the local town, which is jammed solid with traffic every morning, so we have to leave early even tho' any other time it's just a 10 minute drive...

I sit in traffic.. and finally get to the garage, only for him to tell me '' it's your unlucky day''.. the ramp has broken, and they are waiting to see if they can get someone to come and mend it.. .. but it's holiday weekend so they can't be sure..

What did I want to do?.. so I left the car with them, no point bringing it home, because without a current MOT it's illegal to drive on the road anyway. ..He's gonna ring me and let me know what's happening..in the next hour or 2...

Then I decide to get the bus home because the bus stop is right outside the garage.. , . I get on.. and the driver says ''sorry the ticket machine isn;t working''... so he was letting everybody on for free.. . I don't pay anyway, public transport is free for over 60's.. but other people were getting their trip for free...

So.... it's not even 10am.. yet... and there' already been stuff happening ....:D

Good morning, just wanted to pop my head in, so to speak, to say hello. As Mother's Day approaches my mood is steadily getting worse and I'm more tempted to just lurk. I keep trying to focus on the fact that I have excellent relationships with my two daughters, but I spent a chunk of time yesterday watching old YouTube videos my son and his best friend made back in high school. That was a mistake.

Anyway—my workload is still light, so I need to focus today on errands, some boring work-related tasks that I've been putting off for months, maybe cleaning the refrigerator. There is a lot that needs to be done. I must resist my urge to lie about and be lazy!

@OneEyedDiva, you have my sympathy. I had to deal with a leak in an apartment once, and it was NOT fun. I spent several weeks with the ceiling of my bathroom literally torn apart. Good luck.

@hollydolly, what a start to your day! My stomach was knotting up just reading your post. I hope things got easier after that.

I hope everyone is well and having a good day.

Thanks for thinking of me ..but it didn't get better unfortuunately. he called sad they can't fix it today or even in the forseeable future, so he's going to ring around and see if any of the other branches can do it.. but that's useless to me because other branches are in other towns, so It would be difficult for me to get back home and wait... and definitely not going to sit and wait up to 6 hours in the garage.. so I've had to bring the car home.. he said I'm legal to take it home, and then only legal to drive it back to the garage until it passes it's test...

So to cheer myself up, knowing I couldn't really go anywhere with the car..I stopped at the garden centre, because I like their greengrocers shop.. ..

I got various fruits and veggies...and then I went into the clothes shop, and they've got all their new summer things in and so I bought myself a cotton/linen, Emerald green & white striped 3/4 sleeve pull on blouse...

Just an update. As I talked about it have been nonstop problems around here.
Had a water leak in the bedroom hall. Thought it was a roof problem, had 3 roofers out. They really saw no problems but in one are, flashing did not seem tight. So, I had that fixed along with a new turbine to the tune of $800.

Low and behold next time I turn on the A/C the drip continued. So now I have out A/C people out. They found a hole in one of the copper drains lines. So that fixed for $400. I just had them fix the hole buy putting a patch on it. Still can't figure out how a copper line just gets a hole. They did take video up there so I could see the problem.

I know I would have to get someone to fix the ceiling. Last night, I think I have an intruder, no, it is merely the ceiling falling in. What a mess! I have a call into the insurance agent at this point. My deductible is quite high but I think this may push me into the zone.

Need the ceiling fixed but am also concerned about mold. I wonder if they will give me something for my tears and emotional damage.

Oh well, I can only do the best I can!

When it leaks it pours!

On another subject, I had posted somewhere that the doctor had put me on Mounjaro due to type 2 diabetes. I am happy to note that I am down 26 pounds after 5 months. I have yet to have my A1C checked but feel it must be much better.

This is not a fix it, you have to follow a good diet, low carb and high protein. The main thing I have noticed is a much lower amount of pain and inflammation in my other problems. It does suppress your appetite and keeps you from overeating. It does cause gastric problems if you indulge in things you should not have or overeat. For me, this has been a blessing.

I know, seems like I go through this every spring. So many things either break or act up. I also had the trees trimmed to protect the roof. Had a nuisance tree cut down and had them remove all the shrubs and landscaping in the front of the house.

I just no longer have the strength to keep with the landscaping. I am doing research to find low maintenance things that are pretty. Having that done was $3000.00. but I am proud it is done and over with. I also had the neighbors pecan tree that hung over my roof cut back.

I feel bad for her. She needed it done on her side too. They gave estimates do to do it all at one time but she could not afford it.

Spent much time carrying boxes and loose items out to the garage for the garage sale starting tomorrow (don't expect me to be very active here over the weekend). If it hadn't rained vigorously this morning I may have been able to put things out in the driveway and just cover them. Although it isn't really raining now, there is fine mist in the air which keeps everything damp. I'm going to have to get up pretty early tomorrow to finish (if it isn't raining). Wanna bet someone will stop at 7 am and want 90% off everything? The way I feel now, it would be tempting.

DIY project Troubleshoot & repair water softener.

Finally got the right control board that was under warranty. I wanted to have all new parts so I bought the wiring harness, the motor, & venturi. All in all $115.75 for those parts.

Looked like the 1st. pic. before putting it all together. 2nd pic with wiring bundled & tucked away.
