Have been eating more than I'd like simply because supermarket bought frozen packaged food sizes are more than I would choose to eat and cannot be easily divided up. Well actually am considering experimenting trying to saw some of the packages in 2 with my hand coping saw? Some of the dry foods like Knorr Rice Sides, Broccoli and Cheddar Cheese, can divide up after pouring into a container, shaking thoroughly, then dividing into 2 portions.

Have a notion to drive the 335 miles to Mammoth Lakes for spring skiing at $100 for each of 2 days. However roundtrip, that is about 26 gallons of gasoline. Our cheapest stations nearby are $5.30/gallon and $4.30 in Nevada where I could fill up for most of the distance. So that is $115. I could avoid any lodging costs, by sleeping in my car, but that is still $315 for this financial peon. :(

By this Thursday mid day, completed the HTML coding I've been mentioning for weeks. Thus, looks like tomorrow will be uploading 6 new pages plus updates, on a total of 130 older html files. After that, I always need to actually open the 6 new pages and check that all non-local links actually work.

Years ago, the only way one could place an apostrophe like in the word ... don't ... was to code it as &#39s but that was changed a few years ago to just a ' . So one task I did last, was search all 136 files and change all the codes to apostrophe's that makes the raw code easier to read. Also, beside lifeform common names that I bold, had lots of italicized Latin scientific names for plants/animals while not capitalizing the first letter of the Genus. So had to search for all those too that in html are between <i>abc</i>. Lots more work like that, haha.

So as an excuse for a celebration, yes will yet again go out this late afternoon to enjoy some outdoor live cover band music that looks like another 100 minutes away.

Good morning, just wanted to pop my head in, so to speak, to say hello. As Mother's Day approaches my mood is steadily getting worse and I'm more tempted to just lurk. I keep trying to focus on the fact that I have excellent relationships with my two daughters, but I spent a chunk of time yesterday watching old YouTube videos my son and his best friend made back in high school. That was a mistake.

Anyway—my workload is still light, so I need to focus today on errands, some boring work-related tasks that I've been putting off for months, maybe cleaning the refrigerator. There is a lot that needs to be done. I must resist my urge to lie about and be lazy!

@OneEyedDiva, you have my sympathy. I had to deal with a leak in an apartment once, and it was NOT fun. I spent several weeks with the ceiling of my bathroom literally torn apart. Good luck.

@hollydolly, what a start to your day! My stomach was knotting up just reading your post. I hope things got easier after that.

I hope everyone is well and having a good day.
Thank you KSav. This ain't my first rodeo either, so I'm remaining calm. The managing agent emailed me today informing me that the plumber is coming tomorrow morning at 9:00. The residents in the three buildings on my side that will be affected by the water shut off so the work can be done were notified of the shut off today. We are hoping that the work can be done in one day.

I gather from your first paragraph that you lost your son (?). Is he the handsome young man in your profile picture? My heart goes out to you and I will keep you and your family in prayer. I do so quite often for parents and grandparents who have lost their children (grandchildren). I know too many!! I hope your daughters will do something that will make your Mothers' Day less painful.

Thanks so much for your very kind words, @OneEyedDiva, but my son is in fact alive and well; however, he hasn't spoken to me in nearly 7 years. (And yes, that is him, back in high school, in my profile pic.)

The estrangement is totally my fault. I developed a vicious addiction to Xanax, combined with alcohol, and messed up, big time. I've been clean since October 6, 2019, and I have spent years apologizing and sending him gifts (e.g., on birthdays and holidays) and cards. Nothing has helped.

I know the pain is nothing compared to that experienced by parents who have actually lost a child. I didn't mean to misrepresent myself.

I am glad to hear the plumber will be there soon, and I hope he repairs the leak quickly and efficiently! 🚰

Thanks again for the kind words. People here have been very kind and understanding. 🤗
