How is your day Today? Chat about your plans and achievements 2026....

Second day of the garage sale. Yesterday exceeded my expectations, but today was miserable. Fewer people stopped and even less bought. Maybe it is due the weather - it rained overnight, so everything was damp and it's much cooler and windier than yesterday. We are also in competition with a big antique fair going on about 15 miles away, an antique car show here at the school and some antique event in Vermont. I don't hold out much hope for Sunday. Sundays are usually the worst day of the weekend for garage sales.

Because of the week I've had I was very tired this morning. I decided to leave the clean up in the kitchen and putting items back in the storage closet until tomorrow. I disinfected the top of the dryer, where the toaster-oven-air fryer thingy sits, so that I be able to have a place big enough for a paper plate of food. But I had to go to the supermarket to get my fix! I also needed almond milk, so I walked over at 8:15 a.m. and was home by 9:00. What was my fix? Ice cream, of course. 😛

I had a very stressful week and managed to stay calm throughout, but I could not go another day without having ice cream. I'm living dangerously because I bought the 48 oz container, along with 6 mini fudge sundaes.

I took a nap and woke up when my oldest grandson called me. I was debating whether or not to go to HS#3's studio for the broadcast and thought perhaps I was too tired to pull those three flights of stairs. But my conversation with GS perked me up (we were on for an hour), so I got dressed to go over.

When I called HS#3 he said not to come because he was sick. Gee...I wish he had called or texted me to tell me that. But when he described how he had been feeling, I could understand that his brain was not firing on all cylinders. I could tell how sick he must've been when he said he considered canceling the show. He started feeling better just two hours before
. Towards the end of the broadcast, he did wind up doing some coughing. We always talk afterward and stayed on the phone close to an hour.

My new Roku came in today and I took some time setting that up, plus signing in to my subscribed streaming platforms. Now I'm in the process of gathering the DNA regional information that my GS asked me for. I have two sets. Ancestry's regional breakdown in 2025 differs from the one they did for me in 2018. I have screenshots of breakdowns and color coded regions that I'll email to him.

good-night Sistah.gif

It's another beautiful sunshiney day..... 🌻 🌞 🌹

They have forecast rain since last night.. and there's been no rain. They said it would be raining all day today.. and it's not raining yet.. and it's mid-day now...

My back hurts after yesterdays' garden toils.... so heatpad it is for today....

Have a super Super day whatever your plans... 🌞

Had a nice day with myself yesterday and look forward to more of the same today.

Yesterday paid my own bills for the first time in seven months. Mailed them off for the first time in seven months.

Took a walk afterwards. What with all the stopping and slow going it took me one hour to walk around the block!

At home me and my Florida BFF spoke for a two hour marathon conversation. Very enjoyable.

Read my Library Book Club selection for first time in seven months. Homecoming is the title. Also most enjoyable.

FaceTime for an hour with son and grandson.

Today I will play with 🐈‍⬛🐈 and new toys given to them by my wound nurse.

I will come here for the pleasure of coming here. I will enjoy my day with no company other than this.

Tomorrow they will be back. Aide. Nurse. ETC. I DON’T WANT THEIR COMPANY but I am stuck with them.

Will enjoy today with no one bothering me.

My laundry is just about finished for the day..washed and now almost finished drying... it's now just after 5pm

I've had dinner.. as above ^^^... and my new Keyboard has just been delivered.. I'm hoping that it will help with some of the spelling issues here on the forum. It's annoying for me because I'm a good speller usually.. but what with the issues with my right hand.. the fact my computer has stopped showing spell correct.. and this keybard which is only a year old...missing regular letters ..mainly vowels unless I really pound the keys.. which is no good for a touch typist
I'm annoyed because it's just over a year old...

Well was all staged at my front door to at dawn do a 2-day 240 mile roundtrip road trip to our North Coast. But weather forecasts changed last night to totally cloudy with some rain Monday so have aborted, hoping maybe this midweek will look better while keeping a close look at short term forecasts.

So instead after a good night's sleep, attended a church full of families with kids, 9am lively mass. Then this afternoon downtown, is some more local outdoor live music with a cover band. Will give me a chance to add some $5.49 gasoline along that route. And on the way back later afternoon, will likely stop at our famous rose garden and take some photos with my Pixel where Sundays usually has a lot of wedding folks and others in fancy clothes taking photos and selfies.

In the mean time, Life is Good! So will continue to work on the ear worm in my head picked up Friday at another live music event:

...Ah don't lean on me man, cause you can't afford the ticket
I'm back from Suffragette City...

My keyboard needs to be replaced, too. Keys are very sticky. Time for a new one; this one is six to seven years old. I'm just being cheap, lol.
This logitech keyboard ( have a Mac but I hate Mac keyboards)..is horrible.. I look after everything I own but this is just horrible. 3 letters have worn off.. . I've never had that with a keyboard before... I won't ever buy a logitech again

My son helped me put stuff back into the storage closet after he got home from the mosque. I started the clean up in the kitchen, but didn't do as much of it as I had planned because I took two naps today. I cleaned and disinfected the sink, faucet and counters, so my son could make salmon salad for us and we'd at least have a bigger place to sit our plates while fixing our food (I was using the limited space on the dryer all week). Our lunches and dinners have been restaurant meals since Tuesday. Well my lunches.....my son only eats one meal a day, if that.

@OneEyedDiva

Wow! I don't understand why you have to pay for damage caused by a leak originating in another unit but I am unfamiliar with co-ops, if that is what you have. Sounds like it was a real mess and also a real PITA! Glad it is repaired, though. Oh the Joys of Home Ownership.
Perhaps you didn't read my subsequent post, but the leak was not from my neighbors apartment after all. It was from a hot water pipe in my wall. I don't have to pay for the repair of the leaks; the co-op pays for all costs associated with that. Whether or not they'll pay for new cabinets is up in the air. The managing agent feels the cabinets may be salvageable because they are good, sturdy wood cabinets that just need to be dried out and can be coated to protect them if I keep them. That would be my preference. She'll let me and the contractor make that decision. She also suggested that perhaps my homeowner's insurance would pay.

If you read my reply # 34 in this thread, you'll understand why I don't mind if I have to pay for the cost of new cabinets.
How Many Seniors Rely Mostly On Social Security?
Another reason is because I was planning to remodel the kitchen anyway.

Morning all, on early walk at 6:50, sun was peaking thru the clouds temp was 53 as I strolled around the building.I heard birds chirping, saw a couple of runners, woman walking her dog from across the street
This morning at 9, taking Gates van being dropped off at UPS store need to buy some stamps. If I decide to walk home, it will take me about 35 min, 8 long blocks
NO other plans today, enjoy the sunny, warm spring day temps in the 60's temps , the only day this week without rain I'l check today's lunch/dinner menu
Every body have a good day

Good morning! I did do a little bit of my bush trimming yesterday, but not much. There's not much left to do on that job, so maybe I'll finish this afternoon....it's looking really nice!

Instead, I spent most of yesterday cleaning the interior of the car. That gets done twice a year, so now it's all vacuumed and wiped down for the spring.

It was hotter than expected while doing the car. The heat wore me out! At least I slept well last night! LOL

Today, I have an early appointment to get my blood drawn. No breakfast for this gal! I really don't mind, I have a quick snack to eat afterwards. The appointment is very close to the gym, so I'm planning on going there for a good workout and some PT on my knee.

Most likely I'll head over to Wal-Mart after the gym. I really need a good pair of (light weight) shoes to wear around the house, instead of slippers. My Planter's Fasciitis is getting better, and I think wearing shoes in the house would also help.

I hope your day is full of sunbeams! Off I go......

Good morning, cooler this morning but 80 this afternoon. We had rain on Saturday and it did help some with the lawn but we need more rain days.

I was ill yesterday with an upset stomach but feels better today.

I paid some bills this morning, so will get them in the mail today.

I hope all of you are feeling well and have a good day. :)

Good morning, SF campers, and May the Fourth (force) be with all the Star Wars fans! laser sword.jpg

Had a great day yesterday - took the two older GKs to UCLA women's final softball game of the year. It was cool and overcast due to , but we were prepared clothing-wise and grateful to not be dealing with the sun beating down on us.

UCLA permits attendees to bring in food and bottled water. Snack bar hamburgers, hot dogs, chips, Twizzlers, soda and other junk foods aren't my speed, so DH & I brought food from home. Unsurprisingly, the kids were delighted with UCLA's snack bar offerings — just as would I have been at their ages.
