Still recuperating from the rowdy music fun this last weekend.

Have completed all my image post processing, HTML coding work, uploaded web content.

So am now, after a few weeks of distractions, am free to get back to reading this Tuesday afternoon, the 2004 book "The Privileged Planet" by Gonzalez and Richards, with astronomy, geology, and astrobiology, that I only got to about page 50 on weeks ago with 300 more to go.

Have a notion to drive from dawn, 130 miles north in the next 3 days for a day photographing more sea shore stones. But don't feel too motivated, and can do so most anytime in the future. Besides, gasoline costs right now are painful. Instead, there is some live jazz music nearby late this afternoon???

This coming holiday weekend may drive up to San Francisco where at for free, in Golden Gate Park, 3 jazz, blues, rock bands are playing outdoors midday.

According to <fire.ca.gov> our wider area has currently 8 wildfires burning.

The fire closest to us. The temperature at our house was over 90 degrees, and still 90 at 5PM.

@KSav Don't worry. We had fires much closer to us, and even some of our trees burnt. CalFire and our fire department are very efficient. Our house has stucco and tile roofing, while the carports have aluminum roofs. Our water line has an outlet for our 100 foot fire hose. SoCal would be a paradise it weren't for smog, freeway traffic jams, fires, and heat waves up to 119F degrees. Luckily we have hardly any crime and homeless people in our area.

The City of Sun Valley hired a private firefighting crew w a dozer to do some line building in the open spaces around our homes. I had to go up and give the boys some encouragement! They prob thought "oh dear, here comes the educated idiot to complain."

Me being the old firefighter I regaled them with tales of Yellowstone "back in '88 before the turn of the century." Gawd I'm old AF!!!

I wished them a safe and profitable fire season!!! Oh to be young again.....

Today started out slow and I was trying to nap but calls and texts kept coming through. Late afternoon, my son took me to the floor store. I made myself crazy the last few days looking at samples of flooring online. It didn't take me long to choose the flooring I think will work best throughout the apartment. Andre, a nice salesman took out some planks and found a gray cabinet door (in a similar color to the cabinets I ordered elsewhere) and put them together so I could make sure I liked the combination. I thanked him and asked to speak to his manager, who I told how helpful and patient Andre was.

All went well during the payment process until the bank lady said my credit was frozen. Damn it...I forgot to lift the freeze before I left the house. She gave me a number to call Trans Union. What a joke. After answering some questions, they texted me a link that took me to What's App, which required me to download the app then asked for login information! WTH! I hung up. I'd uninstalled the app over a year ago.

Luckily my son had come in...I used his phone to access Trans Union's website and mine to check my login info and receive texts from them. After submitting my information so I could lift the freeze, it said "Due to technical difficulties, the freeze management page cannot be accessed. " WTF!! I was getting quite frustrated. I did not want to miss out on the $200 discount I would receive once my credit was approved for their store card. One last hail Mary...I decided to try the chat feature, not really expecting to get anywhere. God bless Freddy. I sent an urgent message and he was able to help me after sending me yet another form to fill out.

I called the bank lady back at what was supposed to be her direct number, but got some Medicare free gift spiel. I had the cashier call the bank number he originally called and that rep told me she couldn't process the application because my credit was frozen. I told her the freeze was just lifted and she tried again.. Thank goodness, it went through. I apologized to the cashier for tying up his time and register, but he was still able to ring up customers, so he said No problem.

We went on to Home Depot to buy a through the wall air conditioner I saw online that was on sale. Wouldn't you know, on one of the hottest days, the bedroom AC crapped out. The salesman said that it had to be purchased online. Once home, I started the online order, got to the payment page and it said "Sorry, there's a temporary technical issue. Try back later! " What the what!!! Well, at least they have over 1,300 of them, so they shouldn't run out of stock. Tried two more times, no luck.

My poor son, who sleeps in the bedroom, has to sleep in his favorite chair that's in the studio. He calls her Lena, because he just leans back. it's so comfortable and he takes nice naps. After we left Home Depot, he stopped at our favorite ice cream shoppe and treated us to chocolate-vanilla Italian ices. Yum. 😛
