How stressed do you get in the build up to Christmas, do you find as you have started to age, you are more relaxed ?

Do you bake the Christmas cake, pudding, mince pies etc, or buy ready made ? Do you have help with preparing and cooking the Christmas meal for the family, buying and wrapping the gifts, writing and sending cards ?

We TRY to get everything organised, but fail most years. There's always something more to do. Still, Mrs.L has baked the cake and the mince is ready to fill the mince pies. I cook the meals almost every day, so Christmas will just be dinner on a larger scale. We're just back from delivering presents to our younger daughter and OH who live 400 miles away, and elder daughter is coming up next week. So, just a few pressies to wrap and cards to write - and then all the other things that we've forgotten!

My days of making a big deal over Christmas preparations are long gone. About the only things that bug me this time of year are the craziness of the traffic and the sort of frantic way people are acting in stores about now. You'd think the world was coming to an end at the end of Christmas day.

No stress, at all. I welcome cooking for the family members we host. I thoroughly enjoy having friends and relatives sleeping over, for a few days. (Sing it, Elvis): Oh, why can't everyday, be like Christmas?

Sometimes I get stressed, but mostly I love the season!! I have 5 kids, various of their significant others/spouses, 10 grands, several friends to shop for, 4 separate family Christmas events to host or attend (Christmas morning with kids and some of the grands, the w/e before christmas when another set of grands and my kids/their uncles/aunt gather for gift exchange/food, the family get together with my fiancé and his family also the w/e before christmas, and then Ron and then this year Ron and I will have our own little gift exchange/celebration. Don't know yet when that's going to be....perhaps Christmas night. It's a lot, but I LOVE Christmas, and I am a do-er and always busy, and I like it this way.

No stress
I get a kick outa watching folks in town this time of year

We send out gifts, mostly to the already haves and the haves too much
….and have our little Christmas day meal, just the two of us

I so like it like that

I don't really know what stress is anymore since living at the cabin

But I've seen it

More stressed about moving and getting things lined up for that, than Christmas. Moving to another state isn't as easy as it was 10 plus years ago, but the move has to happen.

No stress!! We went out yesterday and had a lovely meal at the pub restaurant in London... the place was absolutely packed solid. Looked like there were a few old peoples' clubs enjoying an early Christmas lunch Full of Christmas cheer.. and Christmas decorations .. I love to watch it all happening

,Actually , I get a bit more stressed around Thanksgiving, as that is when I do the whole big holiday meal thing, with company and all. Christmas is just the two of us, no decorating, no gifts, no fuss, no muss.

I buy something nice to cook for dinner, buy a couple store bought pies, and we spend the day watching old Christmas movies on TV. Getting old ain't for sissies.
