I never had any need for the internet until it was introduced to my work. Even then I did not have it at my home because it was available at work. It was when I retired that I had Wi-Fi installed in my home. three years ago.

had dial up at home in the late 90s. Never been without some sort of internet service since then.

I got dial up service at home somewhere in the mid to late 90's....probably 20 years ago. Service today is a quantum leap from those days.

I had access for personal use through my computer at work for years.

The first few years after I retired, in 2005, I didn't bother with it and finally purchased a laptop computer in 2011.

We had Data Link on my company's 360-65 back in the late 70's early 80's, next was the bulletin boards through my first dialup ISP in the early 80's on my first desktop. A Tandy 1000, MSDOS, basic, (2) 5 1/4 drives, a 20MB hard drive (cost $2,100). Text driven menus with .bat files. Pre Windows 3.0. Dot matrix printer. Signed up for AOL a year later, then dropped it when I was required to have access from home to work, they supplied T1 access & private dialup.

We don’t really get internet where we live but I’ve had an iPhone ( for the past few years ) which works great. It’s all I really need. We don’t get cable either so don’t get Netflix like most others. At times we rent movies from the library.

It's been so long I can't remember but I do remember I had dial up service and I would call what they called "Bulletin Board forums" back then and I would call them and read the messages and sometimes respond like I do here. Sometime later I got America Online but I don't remember how many years I had it before I upgraded my service and left them.

When I was working, the only time I used the computer on my desk was to read the inter office emails, never used it for personal use.
A month before I retired in 2011,bought my desk top computer, really didn't know how to use it. One of the ladies in our church business office over these past 7 years has taught me so many computer skills, forever greatful to her. Sue

I was given a business take-out desktop computer in the early 90's and got right on AOL dial up.....I've had a home computer ever since.

Bought my first desktop in 2000, with Windows '98,
