How long can the world sustain such huge population numbers ?

I think I saw that the UK has the most diverse population of any country in the world. That can't be easy, I'm sure.

We, in the US, have seen a decline in immigration since 2016, from around 1 million to 260,000 due to the politicization of the situation. We now have a deficit in our hospitality and construction industries because it is typically immigrants who are willing to fill these jobs.

Actually, if it wasn't for the immigrants having children we would be going backwards in our population growth. That certainly doesn't bode very well for the elderly, who will need younger people to take care of them. There are upsides and downsides to everything.

Of course, you mean legal immigration. Estimates are that about 1.5 million people came into the US last year, including illegal immigrants. That's enough people to fill Minneapolis and St. Paul, twice.

Made up of five boroughs, Queens is the most diverse, with people from India, Korea, and Brazil to name but a few countries. It was reported in 2017 that there were more languages spoken in the borough of Queens than anywhere else in the world.
