It really depends on what activities and what things you brings. Rick Steve only allow his tour members to bring one carryon rollers, no checked bag allowed. Well, his tours don't go to concerts or night clubs because a lady's night dress(and accessories such as high heels and evening purse) or a man's suit (and leather dress shoes) will definitely fill up more than half of the space in the carry on roller alone.I have today returned from a 17 day holiday. I packed the night before I left.![]()
Why do you need to mail your foreign purchase? You can just get a cheap duffle bag locally and check it with the airline for free when flying home, unless your plane ticket doesn't include any free checked bag.Trips to Europe, I pack one backpack.
I am my suitcase.
Wear most comfy shoes for walking, a pair of favorite comfy jeans, a long sleeve t-shirt and a flannel shirt for the flight.
The backpack holds my meds, one hairbrush, small bag of makeup, 4 pairs of panties and socks.
Depending on the weather, a crushable jacket, in a nylon zip bag I can use as a pillow.
If I need anything else, I buy while on my trip.
Mail everything I buy home.
Return trip in same outfit, unless I find one I like better while on trip.
