Singers, Musicians: Lauren Hill, Donald Fagen (Steely Dan), Frankie Valli, Count Basie, The Shirelles, Al Goodman (The Moments aka Ray, Goodman & Brown), Tony Orlando, Dionne Warwick, Gloria Gaynor (I Will Survive), Bruce Springsteen

Other Creatives: Savion Glover (dancer), Amiri Baraka (poet), Allen Ginsberg (poet), Bill Bellamy (comedian), David Copperfield (magician), William Carlos Williams (poet).

Athletes & Other: Ruben "Hurricane" Carter, Victor Cruz (N.Y. Giants), Mark & Scott Kelley (astronauts), Buzz Aldrin (astronaut), Isaac Redman (Steelers), Quenton Nelson (NFL lineman), Hector Santiago (Angels pitcher). Justin Trattou (Vikings defensive) and Larry Doby (2nd Black player to break baseball's color barrier) .

The above list just scratches the surface. Some celebrities chose to move here to upscale towns, partly due to the proximity to New York City but are not included here. What famous people are from your state?
