How Many Feel Let Down by the End of Dec. 25th?

what kind of tablet is it?

Maybe your daughter or someone in the family will help.
Here's the long and the short of it: I have never coveted a tablet, never even had a passing thought about ivestigating getting one. I sure don't want to be bothered learning yet another digital "device" that I didn't want in the first place. DD/DSIL would "help", but I don't want their help yet again. Every time something goes haywire with the internet in general or my laptop specifically, I have to run to them for help. No. I'm not going to ask.

I'm tired. I'm past 80. If it isn't something I haven't needed in the past, it's not likely to be anything I'll need in what's left of my future.

I was venting. The vent is over, and subject is closed.

Like a few others, relieved not let down and I didn't even celebrate. I always look forward to the games on TV though.

Pertaining to the question on library book downloads, I have never done it, even though it's available. I like the touch of a physical book. The library has gotten cute by printing on the receipts how much I saved borrowing each book.

I told my kids that I have no need/want for gifts since about 2013. They know I'm a minimalist and have been good about following my wish until now. They got my a Fitbit. I have no use for it. Haven't worn a watch in decades.

Today is Boxing Day. In the small town of Williams Lake BC a bunch of the towns locals were drinking in a local watering hole and decided that January 2nd should be Wrestling Day. The local businesses have to close for the holiday, that includes the banks. The bars however remain open no matter.

I had a bit of drive after Christmas. Lots of snow in area so we left super early like 3:30 am to beat traffic and snow and .....by 6am DEC 26th ... the various radio programs had where you could unload or return gifts you do not want.

I laughed out loud.......cause years ago i told kids/ family .......if you want to get someone something get them something they need or help with a project etc ....NO picking something out just to check off a box of i got them covered etc.

Christmas has been better when people don't get an errand of returning or exchanging getting something they really want.
Food was also better not trying to follow a tradition or an expected menu or anything.

I think the anxiety and trying to fit a mold ruins holidays ( any holiday) for many people.................... but as the next holiday comes people fall into the same thing trying to live up to some elusive vision

I worked Christmas day, Eve and the day after. I've stated before, we didn't have Christmas growing up and I don't really celebrate it now. However, all my winter and holiday-ish items will stay out until the end of March, then the spring summer decor will switch out until October. So it's all the same for me.
