I pay all my bills online through an online bank. I never have any problems since I dumped the brick and mortar banks that often had glitches and poor service.
I don't mind paying online, but NEVER automatically. I don't want to get too comfortable and forget to check my account balances and any possible mistakes. My DIL is a financial manager. She does all her bills automatic withdrawal. She must think it's safe. I may do it at some point but I'm not there yet.
It would help when away. Another thing is I like to pay from my computer. I never do any of that on my phone.
Same here.I don't mind paying online, but NEVER automatically. I don't want to get too comfortable and forget to check my account balances and any possible mistakes.
Oh, I see I already said this, back in Post No. 7.Yup, me too, for the exact reason you mentioned, @Oldeagle66.
Adding to my reply #69, I have had automatic monthly payments coming out of my main checking account for Public Service, our energy company, Legal Shield and Prudential insurance, each for decades and thankfully I have never had a problem. I set those up because I never want to inadvertently miss payments and be without coverage. Once I got Verizon Fios, in order to get the discounted price, I set up auto payments for that. Also once a year, my homeowners insurance is automatically taken out of my credit union account. Again...never had any problems.I don't mind paying online, but NEVER automatically. That's good, but I have a habit of checking all of accounts a few times a week. I have been surprised before.Adding to my reply #69, I have had automatic monthly payments coming out of my main checking account for Public Service, our energy company, Legal Shield and Prudential insurance, each for decades and thankfully I have never had a problem. I'm like you OE. I check my accounts at least a couple of times a week. Doing financial stuff is like a hobby with me.That's good, but I have a habit of checking all of accounts a few times a week. I have been surprised before.![]()
